Hmmm...he didn't get fired, he got his paycheck and his parole officer had no conversation with his boss that would have jeopardized his job. Oh...and he wasn't a slave. I believe the boss.
Estremera sounded very uncertain on some details; would be interesting to hear from the HR officer who had the pleasure of dealing with Mr Nelson. Would love to hear from the probation officer. Nelson had a roof over his head courtesy of his employer; all Nelson's talk of waiting to hear about a room etc was a stalling tactic to continue living rent free for as long as possible.
So,all of the things that Nelson said made him KILL an innocent grandmother never happened. He KILLED her because he wanted to.He cased a home "with money" forced his way in, kidnapped her, stole her car, brutally murdered her and left her to rot in a field. This is not human.Lock him up and throw away the key. This angers me to end.He needs to be made to stop by whatever means.
Yikes, I'd never contract with a business that hires felons to work inside my home. Yes, people deserve a second chance but that second chance won't come at the expense of my home, property or safety. Thankfully it seems that Nelson jobs were hopefully inside empty apartments/homes.
Why on earth would the government waste experienced and competent public attorneys on a monster who already admitted all guilt prior? Lol. This was literally because Nelson wanted a stage. He admitted to what he did already. And in that situation (Usually) you’d wave your right for a trial and be sentenced right away. But; all he wanted was an audience. So - what better to do than to give some inexperienced (but almost assuredly more intelligent than you and I) lawyers rare insight, perspective, and invaluable lessons by being Nelson’s public defenders in a capital punishment case? Are you guys angry that they didn’t waste experienced lawyers on a circus trial that didn’t require the need for them?
To the rude RU-vid commenters making fun of the public defender(s) of this case : Why on earth would the government waste experienced and competent public attorneys on a monster who admits he did everything already? Nelson is guilty. He himself has said it. Clearly he wanted a soapbox on which to stand to discuss the inhumane conditions in U.S. penitentiaries. By killing an innocent victim in order to make a statement was very stupid thing to do. Kudos to the defence for doing their best to make the best out of a terrible situation--i.e. shed light on the U.S. penal institution.
I can't figure out who the dimmest, most shallow entity is here; Mr. Esperana, the prosecutor, or Scott's defense. Scott Nelson wouldn't look at Mr. Esperana when he walked out of court. Nelson is a worm.
Also it shows he lied about the circumstances of his being "fired" which is one of the main claims he made that led to the victims murder (he laid the blame at his Parole Officer's feet for his murderous actions). He was not the victim of his Parole Officers actions, he chose to not comply with the living arrangements made with his boss and basically quit without notice.
I'm not sure if it was his first, but he had commited burglaries. According to Nelson he was convicted of six felonies. Florida had record, or knowledge of three.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS, IG THEY ARE GIULTY, WHY PUT THE FAMILY THROUGH THIS?!!!! The VICTIM DID NOT GET A CHANCE AT CHARACTER WITNESESS AND HAVING MERCY ON THEIR LIVES NOT TO DIE!!!!

I’m not a defense lawyer but I think I could’ve done a better cross examination just by watching murder show, documentaries etc. She’s the one that needs to speak up and ask questions clearly, omg! She’s horrible! Confusing the witness and everyone in the court room is what she did...she got on my last nerve! 😂. I think the prosecutor proved that monster lied about his employment very clearly. I’m glad he wasn’t given the DP. what he wanted was to not be in general population so he wouldn’t be bullied as he claims. He deserved that and more after what he did to the victim and her poor family...so sad.
