He said zip ties, duct tape and a knife aren't supplies for a murder. 😬🤭😆. He needs to stop. Just like he didn't cross examine witnesses, he shouldn't have done a closing.
The defense attorney has the unenviable job of pitching the lesser crimes. What's comical in his colloquy was that just because you buy duck tape, zip ties a knife doesn't mean you out to commit murder.
Defense Attorney.. WHAT?? Scott Nelson DID IN FACT purchase the 'tools' to kill. There was no other reason he had to purchase those items. He had NO job, and NO home. What was the KNIFE, DUCT TAPE and ZIP TIES going to be used for? There was a PURPOSE for the purchases. The Defense team were clowns.
Stupid man - "he put the tape on" - forgets to mention he put it all over her face and tight enough to stop her from breathing. He seems to imply also that it was her fault he killed her because she made a noise.
One of the other defence attorneys argued in the penalty phase that there we don't know that the victim suffered. The reason we don't know is because the scumbag loser of a defendant killed her.I'm pretty sure that if I was bound, had my head wrapped in duct tape and bundled in the boot of a car I would be scared out of my wits. Arguments like this are fine for a seminar room but don't work in front of a jury.
Geoff Poole good point!! I just don’t think he did his client any good!! I think the state proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt imo!!! Sad 😢 case!!
Given the overwhelming amount of evidence, his confession, and his absolute mess upon the witness stand... the defense has nothing to work with. I'd be shocked if it took more than the time it takes to fill out the paperwork to convict this dude on everything.
@@xfreespirit1979x right now. The jury is still deliberating and just requested for letter that was never put into evidence so the judge is now telling them they cannot get that . Courtv has the livestream on it. But be warned, courttv livestream takes commercial constantly!!!
Ya know, I expected Nelson himself to blame the victim but I didn't expect to hear that disgusting drivel come from the defense attorney's lips. Shame on you, sir.
This defense attorney is ridiculous!! I've disliked the way he speaks to witnesses either... in a very condescending voice. I can't believe he thinks his "boy" might get manslaughter. It's first degree MURDER FOR SURE!!! I hope he gets help in prison. God help him, but he IS guilty.
He basically saying it was her fault because she made to much sound and spooked him. But the killer said something like he wishes he could have killed 30 people was bragging about his “Heard Earned Blood Pizza.”
NO threats??? Are you kidding me....she is tied up in her own trunk!!! Petty theft??? You are ridiculous....he STOLE her money & her vehicle. You are now making me laugh.
No... the defense is arguing there was no premeditation involved in killing her, that's a very different argument. Nobody has said this was manslaughter or an accidental homicide. Big difference.
This guy for real? or just not putting any effort forth? I surely wouldn't want him representing me. I was compensated with a good chuckle at the mention of our forefathers.
Food For Thought Sometimes I think They Have to put on a Performance . Make it Sound Hmm Somewhat good like they are Defending the Person . But Know they are GUILTY as Charged
15:57 Our constitution is a wonderful document. 200 plus years ago some people got together and said we want a country where people could remain free - that we're not a slave that people will take us out in the middle of the night and the bill of rights they set up a very important system - they said we want to make sure their citizens know they're free so we're going to set this up where in order for them to deprive you of your liberty you must prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt - now that's not actually in the document but that's the way the law is formed. Does this man's mouth communicate with his brain??? The irony is completely lost on him. This poor woman was taken out not in the middle of the night but in broad daylight - she lost not only her freedom but her life. Yahoo for the constitution ensuring that the piece of crap who murdered her know he can remain free until the state proves its case.
