I love these solos! Solos where the beat is always kept in the background, to keep the groove, are so much more enjoyable to listen to than a solo where there is no discernible beat threading through to give it a groove or foundation. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Thanks Drumeo for blessing us with these great players and solos!

This guy have the most insane unique drum solo i've ever heard

All those minor techniques really contribute! I like the soft rubs and draws on the skin of the head. The use of the rims is something I've just been thinking about lately. In the beginning, Drumeo was a bit rubish. Now, there's a lot of sophistication, a lot of technical nuance. Scott is at one and the same time advanced and able to use fundamental, understated Physics. Let's not forget the studio crew. Good microphone capture.

The musicality and dynamics he achieves are amazing. Just even the things he thinks of to make percussive music is unbelievable: at no point in the 20 years I've been playing drums have I thought about putting the stick in my mouth to achieve some form of musical rhythm, let alone one that adds to a solo! It doesn't matter if it's the most technically amazing piece of work (not in any way saying it was bad), or if you didn't necessarily enjoy it, you should at least appreciate the way in which he utilised the drums to create something that wasn't just a technical exhibition, but an example of the ability of the drums to be a solo musical instrument.
