I didn't notice until watching your reactions, but back in episode 4 when straight Wallace asks for advice on set real Wallace suggests building a time machine, going back in time, and stopping himself from ever auditioning. I love how that's apparently just a Wallace-ism that went completely over Scott's head!

It’s interesting how Future Scott and Future Ramona are both different from their younger counterparts in very different ways. Old Scott is insecure. He’s defensive about his shortcomings and critical of others. He pokes fun of Knives and his younger self for getting genuinely excited about things, tries to pass off the extra divorce slide as somebody else’s work, and refuses to consider that he had any part to play in his current rough patch. Young Scott was, instead, overconfident, dismissing any problems that come his way as either easily solved or not actually a problem that needs solving in the first place. But it was that exact unconditional self-love that allowed him to be a positive force for others emotionally, and being unashamed of his flaws allowed others to do the same around him. Future Ramona, meanwhile, is more emotionally available after spending over a decade with Scott. She’s comfortable enough with herself that she doesn’t hesitate to express excitement, joy, or love. But she’s still avoiding confrontation to the point where she came up with the ridiculous movie scheme to subvert Scott’s plan instead of just talking to Scott directly and telling him to stop. Even though they aren’t officially divorced, she’s acting like it’s over for good, distantly hoping that her half of the work to repair the relationship will just take care of itself if she just keeps laying low.
