FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's Oni Press comic book of the same name, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World follows the eponymous slacker rocker on his colorful quest to defeat his dream girl's seven evil ex-boyfriends. Twenty-two-year-old Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) may not have a job, but rocking the bass for his band, Sex Bob-omb, is a tough job unto itself. When Scott locks eyes with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), he knows she's the girl he wants to grow old with. But Ramona has some serious baggage; her supercharged exes rue the thought of her being with another man, and they'll crush any guy who gives her a second glance. Now, in order to win Ramona's heart, Scott will do battle with everyone from vegan-powered rock gods to sinister skateboarders, never losing sight of his gorgeous goal as he pummels his way to victory. Shaun of the Dead's Edgar Wright directs the film from a script he penned with Michael Bacall. Superhero veterans Chris Evans and Brandon Routh co-star in the action comedy as two of the seven ex-boyfriends.

All there was to do was to erase Scott from the show for a while. I personally like the fact that Matthew was completely op at the end of the fight with Gideon.

I honestly feel really bad for Roxy. It happens a surprising amount in real 'relationships' between girls where one is queer and genuinely really likes the other one and the other is straight and just sees it all as some sort of fun experiment to abandon whenever they meet a boy they 'actually like'. It sucks. To genuinely connect with someone, have a relationship with them, trust them just to be called a phase that meant nothing hurts bad...

I love the way Edgar Wright uses music in club fight scenes. It's genius, if you've seen The World's End you will notice there are quite a few scenes that have a similar vibe to this and I freakin' love it!

It's a pretty cool and fluid way to put emphasis on the characters' expressions mid-fight. It doesn't bog down the action pacing and transitions straight into the next attack. Rarely any cinematography has this kind of creativity anymore.

You know what's funny? Mae Whitman, who plays Roxy Richter in this film, voice acts The Owl House's Amity Blight, who is not only prone to anger issues, but also a lesbian (and the first such main character in a Disney animated show, to boot). Of course, unlike Roxy, she actually has a healthy and otherwise happy relationship with her former human hatesink/rival Luz Noceda. *Long story on that.*

Roxy had every right to be mad. I mean when someone says it was just a phase I would be mad too. It happens to a lot of girls when they met a guy and just leaves the other girl and says „errr it was just a phase“

Roxie is def my fav ex, it’s kinda sad that Ramona didn’t rly care for her since she was only curious. Was also very disappointed coz I was excited to see Roxie and Scott fight only for Ramona to do it for him. But it was still cool seeing Ramona’s hammer in action

I just watched this movie for the first time last night, I don't know how I just never got around to seeing it all this time. The way Roxy pops back up onscreen at 2:13 was hilarious. There's so much attention to detail in every frame of this movie.
