According to Alastair Crooke when the Israeli jets were about 100 kilometres from the Iranian border they found that Russian stealth radar had locked onto them. This is a radar system that people in the West have suspected the Russians have developed. so now we know. The pilots panicked and fired their missiles blindly before they had been able to lock onto their targets with GPS. The planes headed back to their base and the second and third parts of the operation which were to destroy targets in Iran were aborted and the missiles fired were all shot down. So the mission was a complete failure and now Israel knows that it cannot do any real damage to Iran but that it is very vulnerable to counter attacks by Iranian missiles. The world has changed!

Go watch Greg Stoker. According to his assessment, the damage seems to be extremely limited based on satellite imagery. As someone on the ground, no explosions in our city. For our friends and family in different parts of Tehran, they didn't see any hits near them.
