Beautiful. Thank you. Leona Boyde played this long ago.. Happy to see someone carrying on with wonderful music like this. (Not many people could play this)

El manejo de las dinámicas y las voces en esa pieza es sumamente difícil. Excelente interpretación del señor Tennant.

As Pat Metheny, another artist-in-residence, quipped to me during Scott's performance at the inaugural COC Guitar Workshop & Festival in 2010, "that guy is just killing it." This tune is not the one he was performing at the time, as he plays a rangy mix of pieces, some quite stirring. I look forward to enjoying him again at future Crown Festivals.

I like the Wulfin Lieske version best. I think he has the best tone for Spanish music since the early John Williams recordings. No one else compares.

This guy is described as superhuman. I can tell why.

I asked him about that this summer. He indeed puts his guitar on his right leg. Sometimes he uses a strap, and he tries to avoid pieces with octave harmonics. If he does have to do them, he 'catches' the guitar with his left hand.

do you have to be better in something to be able to express your opinion on it? maybe i play percussion, maybe i don't play a musical instrument at all and i'm just a listener. what performance will i upload in that case? does this remove my right to say what i believe and like...?
@MathijsIgnoul
@MathijsIgnoul 11 лет назад
Well, he's not holding his guitar with his right hand. He just relaxes his right arm on the guitar. He's a rather large man, so the weight of his arm is enough to hold his guitar in place.

I personally like more straight forward performances so I at least know what the piece is about. If you want to hear extreme liberty in pieces, go listen to Aniello Desiderio.

I'm sorry, I meant *piece*. Anyway, this is wow! I dont see any strap in this video. I dont understand how one can relax the right hand when it is used for holding the guitar! For this piece especially, the RH's gotta be S U P E R relaxed and he still can hold the guitar firmly. My mind is blown... Something to think about indeed! :)

the weight of his arm holds it down, and a grippy strip (usually latex) is placed on the thigh so it doesn't slip.

You're being diverted by his facial expressions. Try listening without looking.

does Scott use a support on his right leg? Does anybody know? I highly doubt he would be able to play such a technically demanding peace just "holding" the guitar between his right arm and right leg. This would probably be unstable.

there are a few beautifull moments created don't be absolute. but yes, it is very technical and needs a bit more bel canto attitude :)
@MrBlindmans
@MrBlindmans 11 лет назад
Not in my book. In fact,I dont think he would lace Scott Tenants boots. Or string his guitar for that matter. Lol!
@mikecampos483
@mikecampos483 12 лет назад
all i hear is technical...where is the soul of the piece? sometimes you need to disregard the exact note duration so the song can be more expressive(Segovia)
