I know this Scott Weiland, but this brings back memories of a band I used to be in back in the 90's in Ft. Lauderdale. The singer was a big Nirvana fan and this sounds like something we'd cover.
It' almost the same... :) I said that he can sings almost everything... One of tge best grunge singers of all times including Chris Cornell, Staley, Edie vedder and may a bit with Cobain...
I dont know what the other comment was but i agree with you that these bands are not all the same, they arent. and grunge was a term that subpop's J.P. coined referring to the bands from seattle at the time. also been called the "subpop sound". So nirvana wasnt the only one of this group, really originally the term was reffering to all subpop bands.
A good cover but it sounds pretty much like the original. I don't understand covers that are just copies. That's what bar bands do, not someone of Weiland's caliber.
He did A LOT of covers! He was excellent in these. That's why they called him the "Chameleon." He had the ability to blend and then to make things into his own. He was/is so multi-talented. The man could read the phone book and make it sound great! He was one of the best front men EVER, and an excellent song writer; super-gifted solo or with a band. How could performing a cover hurt his "resume" in ANY POSSIBLE WAY? We lost an irreplaceable Legend! To have him perform your song would be an honor! RIP Scott. Greatly missed.
Mike Brown I see your point but that's exactly why Weiland is/was known as "the chameleon" in terms of music (vocals). His covers were almost like the originals (I'm sure he wanted it that way). Listen to him singing some Doors songs for example...his voice is almost like Jim Morrison's. Incredible.
IIt's pretty unfortunate that Scott Weiland couldn't be content with writing and performing enough horrible original songs of his own, that he felt compelled to go out and butcher more songs by people who had actual talent.
I Love Nirvana And Kurt But Scott Is Way Talented And A Better SongWriter Plus When It Comes To The 90s Nirvana Was For The Impact And Influence STP Was Butchered And Put Down By The Media With Bs Plus We Never Got To See Kurt Full Potential
That is the most WTF comment I think I have ever read. 🤦♀️ Both men were very talented but Scott was a vocal chameleon and a magician with melodies. He could sing anything and do it extremely well. He clearly beat Kurt by leaps and bounds in that category.
