He moves like OG, but is animated. I like guys who take defense as a challenge, develop a shot and you are good and will do some good things for the Raptors

Very disappointed in Bobby and Masai. Suggs is the far better player

I think there might be some trades in the pipelines. Kyle may retire a Raptor so Suggs would be pushed to the bench next to Flynn. Siakam might be on the move and Barnes can replace him. Barnes and OG tag team is deadly so both can switch to guard the 5 if needed.

@@neoanderson563 Ya with us drafting Barnes it seems like we might be keeping Lowry and trading Siakam. No one is gonna score on us with OG and Barnes running the floor but we still missing that 5 and an elite scorer

Although with us picking up Barnes I feel like Siakam is going to be traded and we keep Lowry but I really dunno lol

@Dreezy514 Flynn is 3" shorter though. That's going to be his issue. I don't think Barnes is better at all but his potential might be.

They really think that if your good in colllege you will also be good in NBA. 😂 Suggs would be a DJ Augustin in the NBA in the coming years not a star but a solid PG.

@@TheMoneymoneym I agree, unless of course they decide to reach like the Bulls did last year for Patrick Williams, then I think he would fall into the Warriors lap, one mock draft has James Bouknight going 7 to the Warriors, I think this would be crazy, but it's possible the Thunder might take Jalen Johnson with the 6th pick, I wouldn't rule anything out anymore with NBA Drafts.

I agree that he can be good offensively, but I can’t see superstar. He is a very good/willing passer for his size. He also has a good handle even if it can be a little out of control and rigid at times. I STRONGLY disagree on the shot mechanics looking nice though. His base is WAY too wide, his feet aren’t parallel, he doesn’t jump forward hardly at all, his feet land differently every time, his feet point way too much towards the basket (forces his right elbow to kick out and not aim towards the basket), and he doesn’t get much knee bend either. Up top his actual release and guide hand are ok getting decent rotation, but the feet pointing at the basket cause that right elbow kick out. He will need A LOT of tweaks to the jumpshot to even be passable. I think much of his problem is lack of confidence and reluctance to shoot, which causes the whole thing to be inconsistent and mechanical. He will need to rework his base completely and turn the shot into much more of one motion if he wants any chance of approaching league average. He has a lot of potential, but he is a player that needs to find the right situation and coaching to use his skill set properly.

@@GoZags43 im not seeing the things you are talking about too often. up top the release is very clean. The base is wide and he does square up a bit too much but he's still able to shoot in rythmn pull ups like at around 8:51. At 19, especially with the way the NBA is now, im not concerned about his shot. He's going to get more NBA 3pt reps than his entire life combined in his first few years of practice alone. The reason i think the offensive potential is so high is that he's so athletic and comfortable with the ball in his hands. He's not uncordinated, he's just raw and doesn't know what he's doing half the time, he just goes off feel. It won't be right away, but i think eventually he might become a very good offensive player overall I think he's too athletic to be compared to Draymond, who's a good athlete but a completely different type. Maybe something Josh Smith is a more apt comparison. Smith in his prime was a 19-10-4-1.5-1.5 type of guy. With the current fast pace and emphasis on the 3pt shot Smith would have easily been a 20-25ppg scorer, and that's what I project Barnes ceiling to be around

@@CK-wi8nw I definitely respect that opinion, and I understand where some of it comes from. The ball handling/vision at his size (has a few inches on Draymond too) is pretty special and Draymond like. The difference is I think Draymond is MUCH more athletic moving laterally. Even when Draymond was fat, he was quick as hell laterally. Barnes is pretty filled out strength wise with rocked up legs, but he is pretty slow moving side to side. He can definitely get quicker, but I worry about his athleticism transferring to the league. It can definitely work though (think Kyle Anderson), and I think he should be a lottery pick for sure, but I don’t see him on the same level as Kuminga like some are saying.

I agree completely. If he’s picked by Cleveland he helps solve some of the problems they have with they’re defense and could improve their playmaking in the next couple years. He’s a solid fit with that core.

Agreed. Hes also my favorite player. If somehow my detroit pistons drop down to the 5th or 6th pick, then I hope we take him. Love the intensity he plays with

@@planetpoog I agree. Scotty Barnes fits the Cleveland Cavaliers culture and will bring a competitive edge that they need. His intensity reminds me of Collin Sexton. His jumpshot will improve over time as he likely comes off the bench as a rookie behind Kevin Love and Isaac Okoro.

After 2 months of studying him and the other Draft prospects, I would have to say Scottie Barnes goes 5 or 6 in the draft. #1 - Cade Cunningham #2 - Evan Mobley #3 - Jalen Green #4 - Jonathan Kuminga #5 - Scottie Barnes #6 - Jalen Suggs

Incorrect. He attacks the basket very well. Also has great ball handling, vision and passing for his size. Even if his shot never pans out, he still has so much skill on offense.

It will be interesting for our Raps tomorrow. Suggs or Barnes will likely be who we end up with. Truly a tough call. Barnes is definitely a riskier pick but is a unique athlete. It will be hard to pass on Suggs, but we will see…

Eh, as much as I LOVE what he is on the defensive end, our biggest problem by far since Kawhi left has been half court offense and I’d personally rather have a guy that we know is gifted as a scorer like Moses Moody to try and improve upon that
