I was obsessed with Jordan as a kid and when he retired I was sick ,but that next season watching the greatness of Pippen I found myself thinking he may be the best ever, when Micheal came back i still liked him but Scottie was why I watched the bulls and i still think he was the best player in the bulls dynasty and one of the best of all time!! P.s When he postered Ewing 🤕🤢
Agree Top Five to any Team. Using AI for simulation, I'm pretty sure this Team won, over any era. A mix of Power Offense and Defensive on each player. Center Hakeem PF Tim Duncan SF Larry Bird SG Scottie pippen See the 1992 & 1994 All Star Game PG MJ or Kobe ( Either)
Ha Im 45 and fuck yeah.. im a life long Knick Fan I hated Pippen. With a passion. Pip Played the entire court. His Arms were the length of the entire baseline.
He was a sidekick. Michael Jordan owns 5 Chicago Bulls all time records. Scottie has 1 record and 1 only. Most turnovers in both regular season and playoffs. How is he not a sidekick to the GOAT?
Pip was an absolute monster on defense. His contributions to the team might not show up on stat sheets the way Jordan’s did, but only Jordan could overshadow his contributions. We need more Scottie content to give that tremendous player his proper due. Just a fantastic all-around player.
Yes, Pippen's defense could also deflate the morale of the opponents. When Pippen left his man to block a perimeter shot, grab the ball and go for his beautiful Statue of Liberty dunks, the opponents' always looked so defeated. He truly was a fantastic all-around player who could analyze the game, and add his contribution where it was needed. MJ scored, everybody knew that, but Pippen could help rebound when they got killed on the boards, or put massive back court pressure. Also, very underrated, Pippen was the nice guy who kept the other players happy, or said the encouraging words when they needed it. This aspect is almost unknown in the shadow of MJ's bullying of other players.
This man was robbed of league MVP in 1994 and of Defensive Player of the Year in 1995. Coming off another championship he once again joins the US Olympic team in 1996 and goes on to win USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. Four years prior he was on the 1992 Dream Team, where coach Chuck Daly called him the best player on the team. So not only was he the only player ever to win an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal in the same year twice, he was considered the top overall performer on the international team both times. In a world where the media and fans love hero ball and individual stardom, Pippen stood out from the rest. He made me love basketball.
Most underrated player of all time. Victor Olendepo or however you spell it, not worth looking up brought me here. I am 35, born and raised in Indiana and just saw today this nigga said Pippen wasn't a superstar. Lol says the man who will never be half the player Pippen was. I am a big time Pacer fan but now I question your basketball IQ Victor. You better show me something this season after a quote like that. Lol
Chuck Daly on the dream team said that Michael Jordan is the best player in the NBA but on this dresm team Scottie Pippen is and I'm in awe of his total game "🏀
His game was so complete. College coaches should have their players studying his game. There were so many great players that never won a ring because they didnt have a scottie. He was the basketball version of a multi vitamin. The ultimate facilitator.
Remove the rings. Remove the accolades. Remove Jordan. Remove all of it and just look at how this guy played the game of basketball. In my eyes he is still the most complete player I have ever seen. Great video, thankyou.
Watched him play in college at rhe University of Central Arkansas in Conway Arkansas. I grew up 15 miles from there. He is arguably the best 2 way player ever. He was LeBron and Kawhi before LeBron abd Kawhi. An absoulute lockdown defender and underrated as an offensive weapon. A freight train driving to the rack. Definitely didn't hurt that he also had MJ in his ear
God, I cant stop thinking what PIP d have become if he had his own team instead of trying to shine in MJ s shadow... Such a talented and humble guy... Soooo underrated. Thanks Scottie!
OZ Z probably out the nba. He was a backup as a rookie didn’t go to ncaa college went to naia as a walk on team manager. Good thing we never had to find out. Dude needed back disc surgery after his rookie season then again in 1998. No telling.
@@kristion9774 he got drafted right??? And in the begining drafted by Seattle... Mj was not even in the picture efecting PIP s career yet. If he stayed in Seattle, who knows... Maybe he d have his own team and who kwows how his career d evolve. Thats what I meant. So he d be out of nba at all.... Cheers...
OZ Z Seattle had Dale Ellis and Xzavier McDaniels they both were 20+ point scorers and under 28 years old wingmen! They also drafted Derrick Mickey a wing Like 2 picks after Scottie! Never had any intentions of keeping Scottie. Pip Was drafted for the bulls to insure they got Pippen for a draft pick and a future chance to swap 1st round picks with the bulls if bulls had worse record than Sonic. Sonic wanted a center they wanted polynice the player bulls traded them. It’s like Penny Hardaway for Chris Webber or Vince Carter for Antwan Jamison. It be for money, picks, a worse contract as this pick, a number of reasons why draft day trades happen. But Pippen was getting picked by the Bulls they just used a proxy to get him.
@@kristion9774 Im not questioning why and how he got drafted to Bulls. Besides NONE of those players was as effective and killer like MJ. More importantly, PIP d be in NBA, not like what u said earlier about him being out of it. Thats just bs
OZ Z when Jordan got drafted by bulls best players were drug addicts all top picks! Depending on where you go what you’re around, type of mind you have and work ethic and if you don’t get injured it’s no telling how long you will last in the nba! Pippen got disc surgery on n his back after his rookie season. Len Bias died of a cocaine overdose after he was drafted. We don’t know how Pippen would’ve turned out that’s the point. Could’ve been great, could’ve been average or could’ve ended up out the league in a couple of years. All it takes is a coach not liking you not playing you and you not developing fast enough.
He was definition of all around player . Always seemed to make the perfect pass or defensive stop/steal ! He also was a scorer if he needed to be ! The guy was a monster on the court ! My favorite player in the league and that’s coming from a Knick fan !
@@I9IIEIIYIIEIIS Jordan first year with Pippen as a rookie with zero impact the Bulls won 50gms and got to the ECF with Pippen having little impact so wtf you talking about 😂
he has always been modest and calm. A very exceptional basketball player with extraordinary abilities that you will hardly find again. He immortalized his name with Jordan in basketball history. A Hall of Famer of Baskettbal. A teacher for many young people. An idol. I love him and MJ as well. The dream duo of the 90th Pippen and Jordan have written memorable stories with their team
Pippen's athleticism is incredible. He looks so smooth running down the court with the ball and his body awareness is amazing. Much respect for what he contributed to the game.
Your not far from the goat my dude ur not far at all....ur jus really underrated but ppl that are true to the game knows ur a top 5 player of all time, without you the goat wouldn't have 6💍💍💍💍💍💍
Pippen ball handling skills was amazing. His athletic ability was amazing too. If you really were a bulls fan back then, Pippen played the point guard position 50 percent of the time. Even at the Olympics, when both point guards was injured, Pippen played the point for most of the games.
If I gotta point out one thing that is Pure Scottie and no one else does it.....He was the master of "The Jam/The Stuff". All of his dunks were grease lightning quick. He could easily tower above the rim, but I have never seen him with a back-swing, wind-up, or tomahawk. It was always Statue of Liberty style, or the two-handed quick "stuff". He threw it down in a hurry and it was always one fluid motion. An homage to my favorite player EVER.
Another thing that I loved about his game is that when he blocked shots, he often times kept the ball in play instead of sending it into the stands. Instead of the opposing team keeping a possession, he gave his team a chance to get the possession. That's just smart basketball.
Scottie Pippen was great when he was with the Bulls. He's still one of my favorite NBA players, along with Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley.
If you want to pick the best small forward of all time and you honestly want the smartest, most athletic guy and someone who is incredible defensively and offensively, i don't think you can pick anyone better than Scottie Pippen. Sure you could pick a better shooter or scorer, or a bigger guy, or a guy that can do everything but doesn't have the stamina, but Scottie had it all, and he was one hell of a team player that knew how to maximize himself and his team mates. Great respect for Pippen.
Man,. I can make an argument for Bird and no im not White.. lol Larry just gets disrespected almost as much as Pip. Luka is on deck, to me LeBron is just a Good 90's player playing in the 2000's As Soft as the League is now, my God Karl Malone would average 40-15-5
that 96 year he should have one defensive player of the year. Jordan got the MVP, kukoc got the 6th man award, Phil got the coach of the year, and Jerry Krause won the executive of the year. This was the 72 and 10 season. That year Rodman missed a lot of games. Bulls should have won 76, or 77 games. Even when they got 70 or close they started pulling back. That year they gave the award to gary Payton for doing the some of the things Pip was doing, but pippen could block shots, and guard his teammates assignments as well. He was obviously robbed.
if you got Pippen and Jordan on a 2 on 1 break, you might actually playoff Pippen and let Jordan dunk on you. Pippen scary as hell coming at you length, hops, quickness speed.
keepnitreel 4me I agree! But some People Monday morning quarterbacking though like Pippen came to the bulls a hall of famer, and not a underdeveloped bench player, to hate on what Jordan did for the bulls franchise since a rookie and this is why I remind them just like I do about cba/Puerto Rico league/ assistant/rookie nba head coach Phil Jackson! Pippen and Jackson became great and Hall of famers after they joined young Jordan’s thing that was on the rise they didn’t even arrive on the bulls with the resumes they have today or the potential of hall of famers that took years to see. No one heard of Pippen until the draft camps, and no one wanted to hire Phil Jackson until Krause put him on Collins staff to spy on him. Krause and Reinsdorf also came late they didn’t own or work for the bulls when Jordan was drafted they bought the team after his rookie season had already started yet they get all of this credit but the center piece to all of their finals appearances and titles is Jordan because we never saw MJ in his prime without these people we saw them in their primes without MJ and they made or won no nba finals! Without MJ on Phil Jackson resume he’s probably still in Puerto Rico or the cba he doesn’t get the 1989 situation of Jordan best nba player ECF team in 1999 situation with Shaq best nba player 1998 WCF team and again 2 young players on their 2nd years starting Pippen/Grant, then Kobe!
@@johnnykallon2654 Ahhhhhhhh! Lechoke is a joke, when the idiot say( bringing a championship to Cleveland, that right there made me the greatest ), ahhhhhhh! Facts defense & Offense especially defense it's a Shame they never gave him the DPOY because how it look bad for Mike. Dikembe never should have won 4 1 of those Awards is Pippens own
"How it look bad for Mike." ..... lol ....MJ won the DPOY when Scottie was a rookie and he was 9 times in Defensive 1st ...Mike was as good as Pippen in defense and better offensively like Pippen said in 1993 :" Jordan is better than me , stronger than me , quicker than me and he jump higher than me ."
I agree with you Pipp should have one a DPOY .... but MJ was a freak physically my friend ... Its not be humble my friend Pipp was great but Jordan was an assassin , a pur killer .... and dont forget the mental aspect .
wistiti93420 like aways. The team player and always new what to say. Michael also would never let him be traded cause he isn't winning 6 championships w/o Pippen.
I love Scottie for being humble, effective, tough and finesse. Too bad he was too humble (to play smth like hero ball for himself) and may be just unlucky (to lose to the Knicks in 7 and not to go to the finals in 94 without MJ, by his own). The unselfish style of play hasn't been selling well for him( And there's Kobe... "refusing to pass" and so on, they love him. Many people think of him as of the GOAT over MJ. And nobody wants to call Pipp the GOAT... except the great Chuck Daily, except every Bulls' teammate including Rodman and MJ himself. Sure Jordan haven't called Pippen the GOAT but times and times again he gave him the credit he completely deserved: "Scottie carried us today", "Scottie deserves the finals' MVP", Scottie does this and that, Scottie, Scottie, Scottie... but the majority of people forgot that or even doesn't have a clue. Almost everybody thinks of him as of only a sidekick to Jordan. What a pitiful point of view. Almost everybody looks to the PPG average first, as if it would be a price tag or smth definitive like that. "More than 28? Sweet! Less then 25? Wtf? Nononono, garbage". Chuck Daily, Phil Jackson and many players give us the right answer to the question of who Scottie Pippen really was and how valuable he was.
Scottie is equal to jordan in regards to importance to the bulls ...there was nothing without each other which goes to show how great they were together
Nicely put, however, I'd never put Kobe over Pippen. Pippen was a unique player in his versatility. The Bulls won a lot of games because Pippen adapted and started dominating or equalizing areas in which they were losing. In addition, the defense was amazing. Phil Jackson could just put him where the opposing team hurt them. Magic is torching MJ because of size? No problem - I'll just put Pippen on Magic. Barkley is too quick and skilled for Horace Grant? No big deal, I'll put Pippen at the 4 spot...
Scottie was a freak athlete and he had off the charts basketball size. At 6'7"/6'8," he had an absurd 7'4.25" wingspan. The United Center used to have (and still may) an area where you could see some of the Bulls' players hand sizes and wingspans. Pippen's hands aren't as big as MJ's but they're massive. His wingspan is only 1.75 inches shy of Shaq's span and longer than most 7'footers. Scottie was a "do it all" player. He could defend 4 positions and finish with ease. His shooting wasn't bad but it was the weakest part of his game. I loved MJ but I don't think he would have gotten 6 rings without Pippen. Pippen and Grant were awesome.
MJ won the chip in 91 and Pippen wasn't even an all star that year. MJ faced three all stars in the Lakers and still blew em out. and despite injuries too.
when i was a little kid, i went to a barbershop with my dad, the barber asked me how I wanted my hair cut, I said "like scottie pippen". the barber just laughed because there was no way my hair would do that. i had just gotten some AIRS, i loved him.
Sept.25th: Happy birthday Scottie Pippen; 6 x NBA Champion, 7 x NBA All Star, 1994 NBA All Star Game MVP, 2 x Olympic gold medal winner, Basketball Hall of Fame. Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, wistiti93420. Blessings
i just been reminded of how great a basketball player scottie was. of course we all knew that mj is the goat but without scottie and the rest of the fiery bulls... mj would've had a very difficult time acquiring even one of those rings
I love this video! Its a quite tribute to one of the best that ever played the game! Scottie could do it all on the basketball court! Pippen and Jordan complemented each other very well! When you have 2 guys that can score and play lock down defense, it definitely translates to world titles! I love Magic Johnson stories about The Dream Team of Scottie Pippen! Jordan reported to The Bulls that Scottie was killing other Dream teamers in practice! Scottie could do whatever the Bulls needed him to do to win a game, because he was one of the most versatile players the NBA has ever seen!
I love Scottie but Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon is far the 2nd best NBA player of the 90s. Then we have Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, David Robinson and then Scottie. In my opinion of course.
Scotty bräuchte seine eigene "Hall of Fame". Wahrscheinlich der beste Allrounder den die NBA bis jetzt gesehen hat. Scotty war immer das größte Idol für mich.... Danke für die schönen Jahre
Holy Crap!!!! I heard about Scotty Pippen but never saw him play. Dude was a monster! His skills/size/athleticism make him a monster in any era. Looks like he's just balling on little kids and dunking on everybody
To me he is on of the all time greats!!! Check his resume and a great teammate. Made evryone better,Played defense,Shoots the 3,and dunked on everyone. Oh yeah 6 championships as well. He is a great alongside Air Jordan.
Mj and Scottie are the best duo to ever play together. They were easily 2 of the top 5 two way players of their time, if not the top 2. They were the Bulls engine on both ends of the floor and I dont know if we'll ever see a combo as great as they were. 6-0 once they matured and went to the Finals in 91'. No combo can say that except them.
Complete player that makes everyone around him better. Anyone who says he shouldn't be on top 50 all time wasn't watching him play. Real talk , without PIP on the floor all team metrics go down including the score.
wistitip93420 and scottie33pippen the one thing about your videos that separates you guys from everyones else, including the nba, you show players in their true form of their abilities. People wouldn't know how explosive someone like Pippen was at taking even smaller guards off dribble, showing how fast and athletic he was. It almost seems like they try to diminish him by only showing what Grant Hill or Kobe did to him, but neglect to show him go back in put on them too. Your plays here were better than the so called top dunks and plays of his career. Thank you for the time you put in creating these videos of some of all-time great.
