@@NomenClature-o8she is an example of how to act whether the police are justified or not. When you resist and argue is when the bad cops lay the beating down on you and far to often, the accused’s action of pulling away and lack of cooperation even when completely innocent usually gives bad police their “out”.
Completely disagree. Listen to the audio of the police questioning. All the cop does is try to gain information to further entrap Scotty. Never talk to the police! ALSO, in the initial confrontation, the officer NEVER ID's.
You mean the one that was completely corroborated by eye witness Jeff Darlington? Obviously the reporter wasn't lying, but if so he should be prosecuted along with Wojo who was also a witness and corroborated Darlington's account of Scottie driving away after the cop attached himself to the vehicle. This is a case of pure cover up so as not to harm a billion dollar business and so that Kentucky can still host majors.
@@aland2465 you did see the video right? so you think he was dragged before we see the car turn left, if this cop was dragged...when he got up his gun would have been pulled out when he approached the car.
@@aland2465Jeff Darlington said nothing about the officer being dragged, nor did he corroborate the reckless driving that was alleged in the report. You’re deliberately conflating the truth
That policeman should be held to account for lack of body cam and the upcharging! The moral to the story ALWAYS ASK FOR AN ATTORNEY, DO NOT TALK WITHOUT ONE!
I guess some people get special privileges and some don’t. What do you think would have happened had that been a random dude from the west end? Promise you he wouldn’t have made a tee time in an hour and charges dismissed after admitting he dragged the officer.
Great speech. Everybody is over charged. The charges against Scotty was the dumbest biggest joke I have seen. But if everybody that gets arrested falsely like this will get the publicity like Scotty maybe we will see change. But maybe not because the problem is that these thugs that are in uniform are to dumb to change. They need to train better and be more strict on cops.
Never talk to the police! Officer should be fired and brought up on criminal charges for false arrest, submitting a false report, and whatever else he can be charged with. Abolish qualified immunity.
My dad taught me a couple of things, one was if a cop asks you “do you know what time it is?”, your answer is yes or no. Don’t tell them the time, don’t elaborate. Answer the question and nothing more.
So if you’re white and disregard the law, you’re good to go but if you’re colored, especially black, the cops can kill you because you didn’t obey the law. Also, he wasn’t polite, he jumped the police line. Maybe if, like his lawyer said he showed restraint, he would have stayed in line like the rest of us.. I liked Scottie before but have lost all respect for him.
The lawyer has experienced the egomaniacal police so many times, you can hear it in his voice. Striking that his phrase of, "you are one wrong turn away from arrest" which is a damning indictment of policing in America today.
This could have been a stepping stone to not holding the taxpayer responsible. These lying officers must be held accountable. They have millions in their pension plans to pay off lawsuits like this. The taxpayer should never foot the bill.
Louisville has paid out 4.5 MILLION dollars over the last 5 years. Near the date of this event they paid out another 650,000 dollars due to a lying detective. Corrupt LMPD continues to violate citizens civil rights ...with NO meaningful repercussions or prosecution. The lawyer is spot on!!!!!!!!! END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@miketeare8254 im 52 & never needed one in my life- they are MOSTLY useless. the few that arrest violent criminals- hats off to them, but we need at least 75% fewer cops
So because the damage will get passed on to the tax payers, he doesn’t want to file suit. Sounds like the system working as intended. Government makes a mistake and we pay for it. Or in this case, justice will go unserved because the ones who deserve punishment will pass it along to us. End qualified immunity and stop allowing these tyrants to live off our taxes and put our lives in danger. Make them pay for their crimes, just like they demand we do.
B/S your client is guilty,he felt like he was untitled and did feel like he had to stop or fallow directions. He is a jerk and so are you by putty the Officer on trail.
Plain and simple, if the officer was initially dragged as he claimed, all of the other officers would have rushed to the vehicle and not walked to it. I get we see the video after the initial contact but there would have been a much different reaction if Scottie dragged the officer.
@mikes417 It happened just last month with a traffic cop kicking a car and massively injuring his leg as a result. It played out the same. The cop alledged the driver was at fault. The driver was arrested. A bystander had a camera that revealed the cop fabricated a story to blame the driver for his stupidity. Charges eventually dropped. If you want to look it up, the cop is Toby McLaughlin and the driver is David Wargetz
Your point is precisely why they dropped the charges, imagine a jury watching that thinking why aren't those officer's responding to him being dragged?
It's so true what he said about cops "overcharging". He's absolutely right, they throw as many charges at you as they can think of so that the DA can use that in negotiating lesser charges later on. I really like this guy.
The officer should be charged with filing a false report. People are losing faith in the justice system. Would be nice to see public officials being held accountable.
If it was a ‘misunderstanding’ between the different directions officers might have been giving, that would be understandable and forgiveable both on Scheffler AND the police. BUT…if that cop lied about being ‘dragged’ and suffering injuries from a ‘dragging’ that didn’t happen, he needs to be fired!
If he were not the most famous person in golf and wealthy, they would have continued with this lie and thrown an innocent poor person in prison. The justice system is not always just!
Louisville police department dodged a bullet today because scotty is more compassionate than many. Next year when your still calling it Louisville rather than sheiflerville, you know to thank scotty.
Only if he takes this opportunity to hold the system accountable. If he walks away then he has failed. He has been given a platform to fight back against the system. Of course he doesn't need money. What about that detective that lied? What about the officers that tried to get him to admit to a crime? If he walks away and he keeps playing golf and those cops keep being dirty then nothing has changed. Just my 2 cents.
@@sgtbaker81did you not listen to the DA? He said there has been many litigations against Louisville PD recently and nothing has changed. Nothing will change if Scottie goes after them.
No surprise here, we live in a corrupt world ruled by power and money. Just surprised they didn't make criminal charges against the cop for "assaulting" Scottie's vehicle.
The officer who lied about being "dragged by his vehicle", needs to be placed on the Brady list, as a known liar on sworn statements! The video clearly showed the officer ran into his car, to stop him, out of angry for a perceived idea that he was being ignored! Then, to harm the reputation of a very good man, he lied about being dragged by his vehicle, likely wanting to fleece the taxpayers out of money, for injuries he didn't receive! He also may have thought he could sue Scotty, and take money he did not earn!
I think that the department needs to take action against the officer! It's a shame that there are officers out there that think they're job in life is to get you to become a criminal
Louisville has paid out 4.5 MILLION dollars over the last 5 years. Near the date of this event they paid out another 650,000 dollars due to a lying detective. Corrupt LMPD continues to violate citizens civil rights ...with NO meaningful repercussions or prosecution. ...EVER. The lawyer is spot on!!!!!!!!! END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sad part is if that was a normal "citizen" who got falsely arrested for the same incident. The outcome would have been different and their whole life would be ruined because of some lying cop.
THE STATE MUST PROSECUTE THE OFFICERS INVOLVED... the Prosecutor is as corrupt as the Police... the "Officer" committed false arrest, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, mis-malfeasance, falsifying charges, falsifying government documents, deprivation of rights; the "Officer" is also the sole cause if 95% of his injuries latching onto a moving automobile when he could have (being an accident scene recreation expert) instead pounded on the hood or trunk to get the driver's attention... the Prosecutor is also REQUIRED to disclose exculpatory evidence, AND prosecute the "Officer" if there is evidence of the "Officers" wrong doing... If there is any true Justice the "Officer" should not be being treated as thought everything he did was lawful, and everything Scottie did was unlawful...🤔
Problem with that is all those people were telling the truth, but the government covered it up to protect the PGA in a quid pro quo with the governor. Guaranteed if the police did lie there would be charges.
I'm pretty sure part of the deal to get him off, when he was obviously guilty, was not to sue or the redacted video, body cams, testimony from Darlington etc would be brought out.
Maybe the PGA, Scottie’s wife and family can sue for pain and suffering? This is outrageous when the LMPD, the Chief, Mayor, and even the prosecutor are still defending officers of their department!
Let's not forget that Scottie was charged with 2nd degree assault of an police officer, dragging the officer 30ft. None of that happened at all, imagine if there was no video?
Perhaps the best punishment would be for the PGA to ban Louisville from tournament consideration forever! There are many other fine courses in the U.S. to choose from.
Spot on when he says the tax payers pay and the police don't change their ways.. Why would they, they all keep going on their merry way towards a tax payer provided pension...
I would sue because it's my name that's taken a hit. It's my picture in a orange jump suit that's all over the internet. It's video of me in handcuffs. At the end of the day, all you have is the name that your parents gave you and if I'm falsely arrested then that hurts my name and my brand. At Scottie's level where there's sponsors involved, I'm not letting it go. I'm making an example out of these Barney Fife cops because also there have been others that don't have Scottie's resources that get taken advantage of. Lessons learned, DO NOT talk to the cops. They're not your friend.
Translation: There was a pole camera that caught the cop NOT being dragged by the car as he claimed in a police report, which is a felony BTW. It actually shows the cop running up to the car and trying to smash the window with a flashlight. Another case of a traffic cop thinking he’s stopping a terrorist attack. We need to get these people with serious issues of grandiosity out of the police force.
Exactly. All the video evidence and witness testimony contradicts almost everything the officer claimed. Nobody wants to deal with the obvious issues of poor supervision and lack of accountability as well as making sure this officer is never allowed to testify in court, as he is a documented perjurer.
Amazing what happens to an officers statement of what happened , vs the actual video of what happened. Makes one wonder how fabricated and jacked up police statements and reports are. Without a lawsuit things don’t change, aren’t exposed and others with less means suffer.
great point that he doesn't want to pursue civil litigation because he would be taking tax payer's money! thanks, Scottie. Unfortunately, our money will get spent on 1000 other stupid things instead.

What a complete BS what a waste of money if there wasn't a video of the situation who knows how long they would extend this b******* and the fact that this cop made a false report man we're just going to sweep it under rug with he didn't have his camera on he got reprimanded for that b******* what an absolute joke of the system is cop should be charged
That cop smashed down on Scotty’s mirror… probably in a attempt to incriminate him for dragging the cop with the mirror. They should check to see if this cop ( or the department) has made similar claims of being injured by mirrors in the past.
