A couple of years after my Dad passed away, I bought a beautiful black male Scottish terrier for my mother. I knew that if I asked her ahead of time she would say, "Oh, I don't think so, son", being a lady of habit. So I just stealthily acquired him from a good breeder in the British Columbia Okanagan area, brought him home at nine weeks, told Mum to close her eyes and plopped him in her lap. Well, it was love at first sight for both of them as he kissed her all over her face, then immediately pooped under the dining room table with a big grin on his face. Well, that was almost 13 years ago and Corbie (full name Blackwaterfoot Corbie) is still fit, healthy and happy. Mum, who is 88 in May, walks him almost every day, brags about all the admiration he gets from passersby and throws his ball down the hallway as he tears around like a pup. Eight years ago she was diagnosed with colon cancer but fully recovered after surgery (no chemo or radiation) with no recurrence. That dog was the best $1200 I've ever spent in my life, and when in the fullness of time they finally go I hope it's on the same day, hand in hand.
How wonderfully blessed you have been @Emily Carr string quartet. From someone who has missed out in life. Not having a mother. You have been truly gifted with your own! +RMPsumma I have to agree. When I first got my Scottie, he was 9 wks of age, he tripped over blades of grass, such a cutie. He quickly grew up to be my wee gentleman. He passed at 13 but will forever be in my heart and hardly a day goes by that I don't miss him.
Cheryl Simser Oh boy! A Scottie lover! We have had nothing but Scotties in our family since the late twenties. I know about the tripping. My latest, Jock the Fourth of Firth, was five pounds when I bought him at eight weeks, he was so unsteady outside, and as you say, so cute. Now he's 23 pounds of balanced play. :-) A Scottie puppy is the cutest thing on earth, and as a breed, Scotties are everything one could want in a dog. Thank you for your comment. Usually, on You Tube, people are just mean and angry. Of course, it would be more difficult on a Scottie puppy video, but from what I've seen, many would find a way, e.g. "What do you mean Scottie puppies are the cutest? You moron! Cocker Spaniels are the cutest. Look it up, loser." That's the usual comment style (and I kept it clean). :-)
RMPsumma I love the name Jock the Fourth of Firth. Yes, the joy from and the love of a Scottie are incomparable. Also, I have come across sites where even the pups are criticized. Some people can be vicious but, thankfully, not all. Give Jock a hug for me! :)
I used to play this video with my Scottie for years. It was her favorite video, and she would always yip and try to jump through the screen to play with the puppies. She passed December 2019, and I still miss her terribly. Rest in peace, Hayley. Till we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.
I don't have words to describe all this pain inside of me, my best friend, my only friend die, yesterday because of cancer! Sorry for my English but I'm so sad, I will always miss you my dog MIKE!
I'm so sorry for your loss and I can understand how you feel and I hope that one day in future you will give your love to another wonderful dog that will bring joy to your life...
Oh Miguel, I'm so sorry. I lost mine after 14 years last July. She is still in my heart and I miss her very much. But I'm thankful for the great 14 years.
I have has two Scottie’s at different times. I miss them so. Each would alert me to when I was going to have a seizure. Bless them. I’m 72 n too old to take on a puppy. I miss having their love. So sweet
I have owned scottie puppies for 35 years-have bred my male and female Winston and Kayleigh-we had 10 pups, kept the last 2, Mctavish and Darby-they lived long lives from 10 to 14 years, since have had Piper who we lost to car accident now we have Brigadoon and Barney, two brothers-always and important part of our family, love them so much
Our sweet little Daisy is our first Scottie and we are hooked!! I remember when she was small like this. She will be a year old next month and I can't imagine my life without her. So much personality and happiness!! These babies are so sweet!!
Adorable puppies! You seem like wonderful breeders. They get plenty of outdoor playtime and lots of human interaction. They will grow to become wonderful Scotties.
What is it about Scotty that makes him so special? My boy Ivan is still in my thoughts after 30 years. They’re physically unique and adorable there. Bodies are a thing of wonder. Maybe it’s his big head that makes him think he’s a big boy. We had children playing in our yard, and he attacked a German Shepherd, that just happen to be wandering by. Just gave him notice. He alerted us to a robbery in our driveway in the middle of the night. he was afraid of nothing, but was friendly and gentle with anything smaller than himself, including butterflies. He mistakenly believed he was the father of a litter of kittens, next-door in, and would lay with his head next to the cat box, until it was time to come home. He was so unbelievably happy to see me. He was very protective of me. Deep bark, but with a variety of other sounds to go along. This makes me feel like I have a little bit of my boy back…
One of THE most popular video's with any Scottie owner is this one. I see many below who love and adore there Scottie's..I must admit I think a bit of this video was played every night when our guy Hamish was a wee 9 week's old. Big like....I'm sure I'll be back!
Too cute!! Although, we have Dachshunds, 2 of them. But, having a dog is one of the great pleasures in life. The ones here are every bit as cute and lovable as ours are to us.
I have a Scottish Terrier named Ainsley. This video reminds me of when she was a puppy, she has always been so adorable. Scotties are one of the best breeds! This video is so cute.
I can relate to Miguel Rodriguez. I lost my best friend Michaela who died of Kidney failure. She was my traveling companion for 11 years. We drove from Virginia to Texas for 2 months every year. She loved being on the road. She loved people and other animals, especially cats. I am not ready for another Scottie at this time but, when the time comes I will get another sweet Scottie girl.
Absolutrly one of my favorites!! I own a Scottish named Jello and my Mom owns one of his sons named Zoé. We just love their calm, funny and adorable temperament.
I am inlove, they are so playful, social, and loving, I noticed Hitchcock and his family came over to visit. I, myself, have already chosen a name for my soon to be babie boy. For sure my family will accept a bundle of joy with open hearts once, I share what is in my heart.
This is such an endearing little video, I could watch it time and again. I recently lost one of my Scotties (the one in this picture) and it is heartbreaking, but they teach you to love again. Thank you for this video.
One of the most beautiful videos on Scotties...offered my mom a Scottish puppy two years ago and we just adore him. It is a very fine and refined breed with a joyful spirit and makes a great companion. It's good that people are rediscovering that breed. Thanks for all the smiles you put on my face watching this. Une des plus belles vidéos de chien que j'ai vue jusqu'à maintenant! Un pur bonheur!
thanks for this video, nothing like watching the innocence of puppies playing, growing, eating and even sleeping to make me relax and bring a smile to my face
They are ADORABLE!!!! Naughty, but ADORABLE!!!!!❤❤❤❤ My family had a Scottie named McDuff aka Mac. The dog HATED me because I took away his attention and he stayed away from me EXCEPT at dinner time and waiting for Mom to come home from work.
I rescued a Scottie. She was a breeder...had her pups taken away too soon. After watching this, now I know why she was so messed up. Took me a year to teach her that she is a Scottie. My westie also helped her. Kudos to the breeders who preserve the breed for the sake of the breed!
I'm scared of these little dogs. LOL. They look like little bears, and they want to bite everything. Look at them teeth and claws. Ouch! Then when I saw the parent dog I saw the beard. I guess they out grow the biting cause the beard gets in the way. But those are a bunch of mean little puppies.
omg great video! I can watch this all day long! Great relaxing music with the adorable puppies. If possible, I will set up a TV repeat this video 24/7 non-stop. So mind-healing!
I love Scotties! They are such family dogs and will do anything to keep it that way. I just had to put mine down as he was riddled with disease at the age of 7. He was resilient to the end and is sorely missed. Love ya buddy! :,)
+Cameron Baker I am so sorry for the loss of your Scottie! I have a 7 year old I recently re-homed and a 6 year old that I have had since a puppy. I have never loved a dog as much as I love these 2 guys. I dread the day I go through what you just went through. Prayers to you....
