Lovely Scottish scenery! It’s such a long time since I last visited Oban. We’re not keen on seafood either but I enjoy eating some types of fish … and your fish & chips with tartare sauce (& beers) looked mouthwateringly delicious! I also liked your Scottish ‘look’ in this video, Rosalba❤xx

I'd imagine some of the local festivals advertised are as much for the locals as for tourists in summertime, because folks don't get out as much for community activities in the colder weather. The sky and sea look so grey. Some of the buildings in the town are painted brightly, which seems odd against the old architecture. Their fishmonger certainly has things fresh off the boats. I love seafoods generally, but suggest to you that lobster is not only a lovely color, but it is sweet and not a flavor you will readily relinquish once having tried it. They seem to have a fair number of inns and hotels for visitors. I take an occasional glass of whiskey, but probably I would not do so at lunchtime. It would make me want a nap. That was a hearty platter of fish 'n' chips. I so love looking at the signage and the decorative works on the architecture, like metalwork of various types. Such craftsmanship. The townsfolk have taken care to keep the architecture in good repair and the entire town appealing for visitors.

Your insights about the local festivals catering to both locals and tourists especially in the summertime must be so true but then again locals are probably used to the cold in the winter months and I'm sure Oban must have some festivals for the locals in winter too...? 🙂🙂 Philippa, your enthusiasm for lobster is infectious, and your description of its flavour has me eager to try it for myself. May be soon.....? 😊 Regarding whisky, I do drink it in Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur during special occasions i.e. Christmas or birthdays :o) Thank you for sharing such a lovely observations on Oban Philippa.
