Hi! Have you ever made Glamorgan's sausages? Basically cheese and leek sausages with a hint of mustard , breadcrumbs seasoning and bound with an egg. You can change the flavour by using different cheeses. They're rolled in crumbs - use white breadcrumbs not that dreadful orange stuff! And serve with cheese sauce! I've got Parkinson's so can no longer cook like I used to - probably why I enjoy cookery videos! The meal you've made I've never heard of but it looked delicious!x

Im from glqsgow can use any sausages my did with a good pork one. Potato onion and carrots with an oxo cube . Not all.that seasoning

That was a great effort for your first time Keith,as comments below its recipe changes through different regions. I prefer to use chopped braising steak and pork links and put it all in slow cooker for 8-10 hours. Season as you go,comes out so tender and so simple to make. Great video mate👌

Keith, that looks great for yer first attempt My mum makes stovies with left over roast beef, onions, carrots and tatties and a stock cube or two adds minimal amount of liquid, low heat, cooks for ages,. Fun fact, Pubs here used to serve stovies on pool / darts night, added in extra salt to make you thirsty and buy more pints 🤣🤣 Great chanate, keep the vids coming, oh and Hi Nat 👋👋

Next time, pack the meat in the tray really tight right the top of the dish,stick it in the fridge for 24 hours. slice it to your desired thickness. Stick it in a roll, add HP sauce and salt!!!!!!!!!!HEAVEN

Sage would have been best to add to the pork mince, a bit of diced apple added to the meat would also be quite nice im sure.

There is very little to be found on the history of this fine dish, although it is believed that Stovies date back to the 19th Century originating simply from masters giving their servants the leftovers from the Sunday dinner from which they would then produce a tasty meal.

Apparently it was originally just onions and potatoes and beef dripping..slow cooked. If no beef dripping, then lard and a beef stock cube. Yours looked a nice stew..esp with sage..

Great try needs more gravy plenty of brown sauce and pepper.i use Cumberland sausages, a nice winter warmer tastes better the next day.try the slow cooker version.

My dad was Scottish, he used to make stovies with potatoes, onion, streaky bacon, and an Oxo cube. Wouldn't touch it myself!! 😂

Try eating it with a side of pickled beetroot or red cabbage or gherkins, the acidity/sweetness goes really well with the savoury stovies!

Looked as that kieth the sausage you made i put sage and onion mix in makes a great stuffing as well can you do them chips you made a think it was with a coating of curry have looked for the video but carnt find it by the way aldi do some cracking sausage patties you get six in a box in the frozen section the grankids love them

Hey Keith I’m from Scotland never had it that way but would need to try usually just have corn beef hash but yes Lorne sausage it’s called up here try some small diced onion in it next time as you get onion lorne from the butcher up here and it’s amazing . Nat doesn’t sound to good hope she gets better soon

Stovies is awsome its good to make in a big batch and then freeze ... I have to say though stovies should be chunky not the smooth blended abomination that is going around

Keith you need a bit of the cooking gravy in with jt so you can dip bread into it I make it with minced bèef and have jt more juicy love yo you both fran xxif you make it with beef its a hearty stew and put a few more veg in love fran xxx

Hi Keith hope you are both well. That looks banging 🎉🎉🎉. Can I request you cook one of my favourites at some point? Pig intestines stuffed with chopped livers, hearts, kidney, lungs, testicles, brain and spleen with lots of ginger, lemongrass, chilli, garlic and coriander. Coiled up like a Cumberland sausage ring and gently stewed in a broth of Sichuan peppercorn and chilli garlic paste . Admittedly it looks like a Giant Turd your family dog laid square on your lawn , still steaming rather gently and attracting lots of blue bottles and wretching from the neighbours hahahaha 😂😂😂😂. However talking about turds you can get all the ingredients from any butcher in Birmingham and keithy lad , if you pull this gastronomic feat off as a home trained chef the world is your oyster and everything in it 😅😅😅. Crack on my friend 🎉🎉🎉
