In 1991, Scottish went unopposed in retaining its franchise. They were able to get away with bidding a mere £2,000 a year, plus 2% of their annual advertising revenue.
This is my favourite TV Channel! (I am from Scotland) 2009 was my favourite era of the channel but then in 2014, they replaced it with the new idents, and I was OK.
STV's first logo kinda reminds me of Stretch Films or something else in influence to John R. Dilworth, even though he didn't start animating until 1982.
It was the 1970's logo I remember best. You forgot the 1984 New year logo. The Stv 70's logo rotated with new year 84 on it. But a good compilation. I remember likening the S logo to that of the British Steel logo.

Viewing from Northern Ireland, where our regional ITV channel was UTV (Ulster Television)....I loved the 'Lion Rampant idendt, beside Rabbie Burns....So much better than the sad, generic latter ones....
