I spent a Great weekend in Lathalmond for The 21st Open Weekend at The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. I cant believe Five years have passed since my last visit, and once again I was not disappointed. A regular service using a large variety of buses operated between Dunfermline and The SVBM. An internal service linked the Workshops to the Exhibition Hall and Stalls Sheds.
The Shed 47 Restoration Group offered visitors the chance to take a ride in the brake van hehind Hunslet D2650.
Please feel free to have a look at my short video of the Railway at:
• Shed 47 Railway Restor...
On both days there was opportunity to take a Forth Bridges Tour on board two Open Top Buses.
I would like to Thank everyone involved with, what can only be described as a Fantastic, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable Event.
I look forward to seeing you all at the 22nd Open Weekend.
A selection of Photos from the Event can be found at:

Would totally recommend this place to visit if your interested in vintage buses, also lorries and cars on it's open days, take your deckchairs and have a picnic on those sunnier days.

Great, a video that allows us to hear the engines and gearboxes instead of numpty music. A very enjoyable watch.

Thank You, Glad you liked the video. Like you I'm not a great lover of a music track replacing the original sounds.

I don't get home often, but when I do I walk from Dunfermline up though Townhill and do a big circle that comes round past the bus museum. Or I walk the (formerly rail) cycle path out towards Alloa and back via the Forth coast. Then I have enough of home to last a few years in the memory bank. The museum was a great idea as that former base had fallen into a big mess.

For me, the old "back ender" buses are the BEST! I loved travelling on these as a kid. (At 7.45- one of my favourite old buses moving towards the camera!)

I can remember most of those buses - its surprising how many of the old ones were still running in places like Bathgate and Bo"ness in the 60s

Enormous place that is, buses literally everywhere. Wonderful variety, too. Not every day you get the chance to ride in a Kuala Lumpur bus. That's a former MOD site, isn't it?

AndreiTupolev The museum is spread over 45 acres and was a Royal Navy Stores Depot. There is always a big variety of Buses.

It's on my "bucket list" to drive one of those old buses (I've got my licence), but I'm not sure if I'll get the opportunity!

I think the best way would be to join a Bus Preservation Group. At least its a step nearer taking that out of the Bucket List.
