Simply beautiful! Thank you so much Shaun for bringing the breathtaking beauty of Scotland to so many viewers around the world. I'm always eagerly looking forward to your next adventure. The hard work you put into your vlogs has truly paid off and it shows, is very much appreciated by all I'm sure.
That was great Shaun - thanks. My grandfather was from the Highlands. Visited last September from Australia - hired a car and just drove for 2 weeks just winging it. Loved it so much. Wasn’t long enough so already planning my next trip. Might get a drone. 😀👍
Thanks for the views! Only around 340 days until we return! If only I could teach my wee brain to drive on the 'other' side of the road! Oh! And for some reason I now crave fish and chips.....
Enjoyed your video. A little trivia, the castle sounded familiar to me because it was the castle they used for the movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. Beautiful drive and wonderful wildlife. Maybe before you head out you should look up a little info on where your destination is. Keep up the great work. Of course all I could think off when you showed it was “I fart in your general direction” from the movie.
Cracking video, Mate. You were quite lucky to come upon that wee herd of deer, seemed friendly enough. Brill footage of Castle Stalker and Oban. Slàinte.
Stalker Castle was one filming location for the Movie ´ Monty Python and the Holy Grail ´ /1975. Than called ´Castle of Aaaargh´ ;) ... you can see it in some scenes at the end of the movie. Thank you, Shaun for sharing so many stunning and beautiful places of bonny Scotland with us. It brings back so many wonderful memories. Sadly Scotland is not my native country, but I know deep down, that in a previous life, I did live there. Especially Edinburgh and the Highlands are very dear to me. I was fortunate to be able to visit and travel Caledonia three times - a long time ago it seems now - and each time it felt like coming home. The worst part for me every time was saying goodbye. Scotland is and will stay the Love of my Life. xx from Germany
Such gorgeous scenery! Exploring the Highlands on horseback is one of my life goals. Friends of mine visited Scotland a couple of years ago, and Castle Stalker was one of their stops.
Way to go Shaun! The video of the Castle was beautiful. And a trip to Oban. Nice! We've tried the Scotch here at our house in the USA and it was great actually seeing the town it comes from! Thank you!
Officially the coolest thing - love watching y’all interact with the wildlife!!! I’ll be in Scotland in May - cant wait to see some of these picturesque views!!
Beautiful!! Can’t wait until I can come visit Scotland!! Two years of saving up and planning to go before my adventure in Scotland!!! So exciting and thank you for all the video & information!! Love it!! Cheers!!
Beautiful! I wonder if when Castle Stalker was built it wasnt an island. And fish and chips..yummmmm Gorgeous sunset. God, I want to go to Scotland. Always have. The entire UK is on my bucket list...Keli 💖
Shaun, the highlands are so amazingly beautiful. Makes me wish I could walk in and just disappear there. wonder if I can get there some day. Thank you so very much for bringing the REAL Scotland to the world through your Vlog...
Stalker is probably one of my top 5 castles. We parked in that same coffee shop lot and worked our way down. But we were also in a hurry to get to Oban for supper at Seafood Temple. McCaig's Tower has a nice view out to the islands. Love this area of Scotland. Nice vlog, Shaun. Cheers.
This is a beautiful video, Shaun. Probably one of my favorites of yours. That nice little castle and the majestic deer just made it feel like a magical day. Also, I love that song you played during the drone footage. Can you tell me what that song is? Im pretty sure I've heard it in some of your other videos and I'd really like to listen to the full song if I can find it online. It's sounds so peaceful and calming. Anyway, thanks for sharing these wonderful moments with us. Ever since I've started watching ur videos I feel like I need to visit Scotland and see the amazing landscapes for myself. Its definitely at the top of my bucket list now!
I love the one lane roads!! I know that the infrastructure needs some improvements due to all the tourism, but I would hate to lose the quaintness of it all~
I think those deer now have your number Shaun. You won't be able to drive down that road again without them stopping you and asking for apples! lol The drone shots are beautiful. I loved the photos of the mountains. Wonder if the castle was ever not on an island and the water currents just changed over time. That was such a tall castle. Thank you again for sharing your road trip with us! By the way, we are having terrible blizzards in Kansas at this time which doesn't normally happen at this time of year. We had 87 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday and on Saturday we had 36 degrees Fahrenheit and terrible blizzards. Also the wind has been blowing in some areas up to 70 miles per hour. Your weather looked great!
Great video Shaun! Can't believe how tame the deer are there. I live in Idaho, usa and never see deer that tame...crazy! And I absolutely love the shots of the castle in the sunset. I see the stairs going into the castle and it makes me wonder about the lives that lived there. I really enjoy your videos!
For once, there are just no words. Thank you for sharing! Am tying up loose ends here before our trip! I may not come back after seeing all your scenic vlogs! Cheers!
Loved this video Shaun, the Scottish Highlands are simply stunning I agree. Also, loved the stuff with the deer as I'm a big animal lover (I studied wildlife at university) 😊😊😊😊
Amazing vlog, especially lovely with the castle view!!! Love all your adventures----I am so excited and thrilled for my trip to your beautiful country this August!!! Hoping to spend a lot of time in the Highlands----thanks SHAUN for all do you do in sharing your love of Scotland!!! I am sharing your channel with many of my friends!!!
It is highly forbidden to feed any animals in the US national parks. We almost destroyed our bears up in Yellowstone years ago. The bears became dependent on humans and it created a huge problem. It is the same law regarding our Nevada wild mustangs. I am surprised that the deer are not protected in Scotland. They are such regal creatures. Be careful and remember that they are wild. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video.
Hey Shaun, nice pet. I believe he would've gotten into your vehicle if he had a chance. Loving the merchandise. You need to put the stocking hat on over your baseball cap. That's how they do it here. Such beautiful landscapes Scotland has. Love the amazing drone footage. Stunning! There is nothing better than a good road trip. Sunset was breathtaking. Thanks for taking us all along. 💜
As a wild animal lover myself it is hard to do, but it is best for the animals as well as humans to not feed the animals. They will come to associate people with food and will endanger themselves; even just staying closer to roadway means they are more likely to get hit by a car... And they will get more aggressive if they don't get the food they will come to expect. Best for their safety that they don't feel comfortable approaching humans. Love your drone videos!!! Love your vlog! ♥️from USA
Just to let u know I noticed that on my my news feed this morn there was an article about Outlander fans ruining Scottish historical sites-SAY WHAT?!?! I didn't have time to read it but I'll do my best to get back to it, it could have been n support of fans. Just a heads up that even here n CA, USA we're hearing about it! THIS IS NUTS!!! I'm sorry to say this this, but whoever is n change of Scottish tourism needs to start playing catch up!!! #KEEP SCOTLAND BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Some excellent shots in this video Shaun 👏🏻 very envious of you getting that close to the deer in Glen Etive wished I’d have gone down that road when I was up in Scotland a few weeks ago as I really wanted to get a shot of a deer with the snowy mountains as a backdrop oh well there’s always next time. Love your Scotland vlogs
The drone shots of the castle were great! I like looking down you can see where possibly old roads were. Stag deer seem use to people. What time of year are the Highlands green ? Probably in a month or so? That's a 6-7 hour drive from your home to the Highlands? It doesn't seem like a lot of miles on a map. Must be the speed limit is low? Or road conditions?
Shaun hand feed deer like you do a horse. Food on a flat palm, no fingers in the mouth, but you were quick so it worked fine. Thanks for the gorgeous scenery in the Highlands!
😂 So now your Stalking Castles to video them. Very cool 😎 views of the castle. Man those Fish and Chips look crazy delicious. Please if you meet wild animals put up a disclaimer that the Wild animals are WILD and can attack for NO reason. But, it was Magnificent videos of the deer.
Shaun: can one live out in the rural areas like that? Or is it all park? The stag look like a cross between mule deer and elk. I’ve walked within 25’ of a moose once. I was young, stronger and stupid then. Deer love apples.
Yeah, there are loads of houses on their own in that region and plenty of wee villiages too. A lot of the houses and plots of land were for sale too 😊🏴🦌
Hi Shaun; The videos of you with the deer were great. However, deer can be very dangerous.Glad you weren't hurt. Were they on a game preserve or public land? They are so tame that it would be a shooting gallery mecca for huntsmen. You take great shots with your drone. Would it be possible to take parts of the highland landscapes from your videos, turn them into photos large enough to put on walls and sell them with your merch? Would there be legal issues to go with it? Especially if you took pictures of local historical buildings or sites.
Shaun, I wonder if that castle was always on an island or if the sea level has risen since it was built? Are there many such as this, castles on islands, in Scotland? Quite beautiful. Wonder where Outlander filmed the scenes with sylkie island and the MacKenzie treasure box?
After watching this I went to the Castle Stalker site and learned that a lot of people killed a lot of other people there at different times. The castle was built around the mid 1400's. I looked up the Three Sisters but could not find anything about when they were built.
"i know nothing other than its name" me: oh wow, it looks like the last castle from Monty Pythons Holy Grail movie shaun: *does the drone close up and i can see the long stairs, door and window* omg it is the castle!!! it is the castle!!!! me: *imdb itto make sure: its the first location shown* Me: OH MY FUCKING
Should hire a boat on Loch awe in the summer and sail round the little islands you can go to that castle on the boat to the boats are cheap to hire think you were at a different castle
