The deal forcing the Sackler family to pay out billions of dollars to states and individuals for the family's role in the opioid epidemic is now on hold, following a significant ruling by the US Supreme Court on Thursday.
The justices, in a 5-4 decision, ruled the settlement deal providing some six to 10 billion dollars to those impacted by the opioid epidemic isn’t legal since it shielded the Sacklers from future civil liability.

Secure the borders and this will be a non-issue. Every day about 300 people die in the US of drug ODs and increasingly from drugs that are not reversed by naloxone (narcan, an opioid reversal agent). The same day as the worst mass shooting in the US history about 250 people, on average, died of drug overdoses. Tens of thousands of compliant chronic pain management patients have quality lives because of safe opioid use.

Thank God they did. Like that wouldn’t be a gang bang of corruption and money laundering. And by the way, “treatment” is absolutely useless for someone who doesn’t want to stop, and it’s useless for most people who desperately do want to stop. Most “treatment centers” thrive on charging insurance $2000 for every drug test, which are administered several times a week.
