In order to prevent knowledge of SCP-001 from being leaked, several/no false SCP 001 files have been created alongside the true file/files. All files concerning the nature of SCP001 , including the decoy/decoys, are protected by a memetic kill agent designed to immediately cause cardiac arrest in any nonauthorized personnel attempting to access the file.

The idea that Dr. Wondertainment wrote his own entry has always tickled me just right. I also don't believe the finale "entry" that suggests all the prior attempts at entries on him were "jokes". The Foundation isn't exactly good at humor. Which is not to say the joke SCP's aren't brilliant, because they are.

I've always held the theory that, through his grieving, Montauk thought the children had to have taken his brother for two reasons: they were obviously evil; and his brother had to have been taken by someone, because his world isn't normal and because there had to be a significant reason for his brother going missing (even if there really wasn't one).

In a way i love how theres multiple reasons as to why the SCP foundation came to be, and the people founding it, it gives off a better idea of it being secretive and "only one of these is right but no one knows which one" type of thing

I don't even think they themselves are actually the real SCP-001. They might be real or theorized SCP, but not the real 001. A lot of these, if not all of them, have in common the creation of the Foundation and the creation of anomalies (as objects, people, events, etc.), and the threats exist in a sort of metaphysical way that is beyond just their ability to inflict destruction. I think the real 001 is either the Foundation itself (as implied by the database entry) or whatever it is that creates SCPs or put into motion their creation/existence. Yes, that is obvious at the meta level because of the very nature of the website and that people submit entries, and that it rather blew up and continues to grow, but it is interesting in the nitty gritty as a narrative tool how it gives that impression in universe (however you want to define an SCP universe being entirely up to you).

@@serban031 my point in my comment is that theyre trying to keep 001 a secret since no matter what, if 001 came to be, it would mean absolute destruction. And a lot of the anomalies that are stated as a candidate for 001 feed on that knowledge. Thus when you make 001 many things, not one thing can suck power out of it

my favorite 001's are the founder's story about the scp org creating the scp(wich also feels more like one of the original authors talking about how much bigger than expected the whole scp thing got), and the one that says that there is no 001 and it is all an invention created by the higher ups to spark their scientists ambition and curiosity.

There are some moments here that remind you that the Foundation favor humanity over individual humans. They know the Gate Guardian disintegrates anything that approaches yet sends a D-class anyway. When the Guardian instructs him to leave and he does so, he gets terminated. Then when the Guardian kills the researchers that gave the order, it's basically the surprised Pikachu meme. And yes, I'm well aware of the sorts of people that make up D-class, but it seems a bit strange to execute someone for not wanting to approach something that you yourself wouldn't want to be on the same continent as.

Woah, that's actually really cool. The SCP foundation acts as pretty much an infinite power bank for the scarlet king. As they contain other anomalies, categorize these anomalies, try to understand these anomalies, the scarlet king only gets stronger.... A truly terrifying idea when you think about it, but at the same time, beautiful in the terms of how it works.. the more they try to stop these anomalies, the stronger the most dangerous anomaly gets.

I like to believe that each SCP-001 holds a little truth,... so think of it like this, each SCP-001 is it's own timeline/universe/canon, but instead of just one true SCP-001 with the others being "fictional" within that reality, it's more like that reality has one True SCP-001 but the other SCP-001s also exist to a much smaller extent. Or to put it simply, for each true SCP-001, there exists the others on a much smaller scale that have been exaggerated by the O5.

Pretty sure the SCP foundation is in contact with other variations of the foundations in other dimensions, and when an xk class scenario happens in one of those dimensions the foundation automatically transmits any intel to the other dimensions. So its more likely that all these have happened and were simply different dimensions xk scenarios.

potential suggestion for the stack of papers, track the average rate of anomalous discoveries weekly and monthly, then use the stack of paper for a week and see if there is any significant increase in that average, if there isn't, try 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, etc... if you hit a year and the averages are still within margin of error you can discover the direction of causality

I know how to neutralize scp-682, I have been thinking of how to kill the damn things since the 20th video you made, which was about the many ways the foundation tried to kill it. solution A. you don't have to kill the thing, just make it so it can' harm anyone, the reason why 682 went in its rage state was because scp-053, the young girl, was removed from the testing chamber which contained 682. Same situation with scp-999. So here is the solution, keep scp-053 and scp-999 in scp-682's testing chamber permanently so that the two can slowly remove the pure rage from scp-682 and replace it with the love, joy, and happiness that scp-999 gives too him, while scp-053 will keep scp-682 out of its rage state.

Maybe 999 when it's grown but seems like it would be dangerous to try that long term before that as 682 seems to adapt to anything which could allow it to become immune overtime because 999 wouldn't be at full power because it's still an infant. And 053 could work but if their was a containment breach with the 2 of them it would be many times worse than if it was just 682 her riding the lizard would make it near impossible to stop them.

They are all the real one, they are SCP's that ended a previous iteration of reality... think about it, there is numerous SCP's outside of SCP-001 that are equally or more powerful and reality destroying than the myriad of SCP-001's. But the Foundation has many, many, many, many ways it can and has restarted reality. So what ended reality in these previous iterations? SCP-001... all of them... But what about the ones that detail the origins of the foundation? Those are the origins of the foundation in different iterations of reality, or possibly origins that resulted in the cataclysmic failure in reality.

Ooo, this is a good theory! I was kind of questioning how some of these can possibly be 001 if there was no real plans or methods of detection ready for them. Also kind of explain this one SCP I read (Can't remember which number) where there was just a sudden global reality event that triggered every alarm the foundation had, but they could find no evidence of anything having changed.

In most story’s in the video a different explanation is said for the origins of the SCP foundation and the origins of the anomalies itself, does that mean each different story is said in different universes or parallel dimensions. For example the one where the O5 council was made a scientific after discovering SCP 001 the Spiral to make the world a better place doing experiments, and then SCP foundation created most of the dangerous SCPs. And the reality where the O5 council was created by the inmortal man who’s main purpose was to destroy The black moon. Both origins are completely different so that means both are different realities and timelines

Why would a writer have their characters make a kill agent to kill the writer? Wouldn't the council only be able to act in the way they were written? They would have no free will and thus no way to fight back

I feel as if SCP-001 is the very concept of life, or maybe even consciousness. How was life established? How did we eventually become conscious? Those are still 2 questions that even the bestest and the smartest struggle to comprehend, let alone awnser. Life is such a wonderful thing (ironically enough coming from a depressed teen..), just because there's barely an explanation for it. Plus, the whole concept of life is a little bit of an accident and a splash of luck (or misfortune, depends on the eyes of the beholder, really). That's why i think the concept of "life, consciousness and reality as we know it" alltogether are SCP-001 After all, even the almighty undestroyable lizard would fall apart without even 1 of these. (P/S: i realised that there are plenty of anomalies whom are able to exist without a "reality", but that begs the question: Can they "live" without "life", let alone consciousness? After all, if one lacks consciousness, one becomes nothing but a pile of dirt, waiting to be manipulated to its will.
