SCP 049 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Plague Doctor.
SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor.
SCP049 will become hostile with individuals it sees as being affected by the Pestilence, often having to be restrained should it encounter such. If left unchecked, SCP-049 will generally attempt to kill any such individual.

@SCP99937 my theory is that the plauge doctor is a humman who was dedicated to his work so much, that over time he and his mask were part of eachother thus when he started traveling the world ppl got inspired by his mask and its functions therefore, I THINK he has bird DNA like his son explaining his mask, and human DNA melted into what looks like a plauge doctor siut when the siut is part of his skin so maybe with bird DNA in em he laid an egg-? Though SCP 049-J is purely a Joke entry, I like to think the reason it isn't able to cure anyone is because it is still a newborn, at least compared to 049, and thus is inexperienced. With time, it could very well be the cure, as 049 says.

At least 049-J doesn't have his daddy's death touch. He makes things worse through other methods. Namely beating someone up until that person is unconscious or dead, either way he then say that person is cured. Also he namely escapes by convincing someone to look somewhere else in distraction then runs off. Despite his method of distracting though, he is a terrible liar

I.......I....Ok, so this channel is essentially my only SCP info. Love the videos, love the voice, love the absolute weirdness and jokes, and the fact it uploads so often................but WTF WAS THIS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I was just in a state of shock as I stared at my screen, a 'wtf' kind-of-shock. Not once did it ever cross my mind I would see the plague doctor lay an egg and care for it like a good mama. In no way is this a negative thing. It's more of a sudden 'Oh....ok.....so...this is a thing now. Ok...cool.' And now i need more about mama plague bird doctor.

Wait, maybe the pestilence is death. By turning his patience into Zombies, they aren't really able to die efficiently. So the pestilence could just mean death. And SCP-049 calls it a disease and he obviously doesn't have it because he is still alive.

I'm surprised that they didn't have anyone try to candle the egg to make notes of the development of plague doctors. Also, this means the plague doctor has a cloaca and it is possible that he is either asexual or the spermatozoa of his species's sperm can survive long periods of suspended animation, or that the egg's development is slowed due to embyonic diapause. With the birthing of the egg, he is either actually a biological female of his species or maybe the male stores the egg internally (similar to a seahorse). There's a lot of research needed on Plague doctors's reproduction...

Okay but why is the line, “He is the cure,” said so tearfully genuinely one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard? Plaguey Junior is a precious little nightmare. Also according to the Desire Camera, him having fatherly instincts actually makes a lot of sense. In the photograph that’s taken of him, he’s on his knees hugging a little girl. I personally headcanon that this is his daughter who died from the actual Bubonic Plague, but that’s just me
