Well let's remember that it IS possible to escape the pocket dimension, or by 106 letting you go. SCP-106 would also see SCP-096's face, therefore SCP-096 attacking SCP-106. It can't jump up to catch a plane without being within a certain range of it, but it can and will chase that plane until it's forced to land. Similarly, it would likely keep cascading through the alternate dimension, following the space its target should be in where they in the same dimension until it was - inevitably, given the foundation's rancid luck - returned to where it came from.

Yeah, you'd think they'd have welded an iron box over its head a long time ago, and only reinforced it from there. Heck, 096 would have probably been thankful for it. Unfortunately, the foundation has a track record of unreasonably idiotic decisions and oversights that really shouldn't be feasible without a pretty convincing anomalous explanation. So, either there's something that hasn't been explained yet, or it's a result of writers forcing the foundation to make decisions that serve the narrative, rather than logic. But since the latter really isn't a satisfying reason, I'm hoping that they'll give us a better one in a video one of these days.

Then everyone on the site is alerted because there are sound detectors which tell the employees there if it's angry, they then can communicate like normal people and clear the path of 96 until it reached its target AND if they didn't do you really believe that they haven't completely erased the memories of an entire country, (Nuke incident with gate guardian). The cross test of SCP-096 and SCP-999 already happened in the SCP-999 video by SCP Explained. 999 simply made 096 calm. Besides 999 is an slime based anomalous creature that can absorb pretty much anything and has no blood or organs. It was even sqaushed down on by 682 in that same video.

They've had that happen before, with SCP-173 & SCP-689. They were both stopped thanks to SCP-131.

When the scp universe started using it as the main picture of 173, Izumi said that they were allowed to use the picture as long as it wasn’t used for commercial purposes. Recently, SCP has stated that it has become too difficult to keep 173’s image form becoming a commercial thing, and out of moral obligations towards Izumi, they are removing the picture from the database. Instead, they are encouraging everyone to create their own image of 173, either in thoughts or on paper. Out of respect for the original artist of the statue, I think it would be a good thing for scp explained to create their own version of 173. But if that version so happens to look a lot like the original 173 imagery, I wouldn’t rly care either.

Well as I understand 096. You can hear its screams while it is walking through the hallways. However most commonly 096 is sitting down in a scared position so all you would have to do is just walk away from the screams. Therefore 096 would be easier to survive than 173 due to 173 always moving when not in sight, And then moment he finds you, you can not walk away/ stop staring.

@@johnjohnjohnson7720 But you've got to remember that, even though Dr. Dan had orchestrated the containment breach, the picture of 096 was real and was in fact taken by the mountaineer. You don't know how many more of those pictures are out there, and a similar incident can cause even more damage, there's a reason the 05 council decided to allow Dr. Dan to try to terminate 096. Another point I want to bring up is the webcrawlers, as far as I know, they are only ever shown alerting staff, so any efforts to remove picture/videos of 096 from the internet should have to be done manually. In incident 096-1-A, it was stated that a CNN reporter has shown up, say they had shown up early, and CNN is a pretty big news network, at least some people should see it. Lets now say that, the foundation moved quickly and deleted it before anyone could download it and share it, but now 096 will be running towards the people who saw it's face, it only takes a single person, to live in a large city like NYC, for a disaster to happen as they wouldn't be able to evacuate millions of people. And amnestics probably wouldn't work, but that's up to debate since, you would forget, but 096 probably wouldn't.

Shy guy is usually docile and a friendly SCP. It is just his nature that everyone who sees his face gets killed. I mean, he always trys to cover up his face himself. Its like when you had a condition where you kill everyone without wanting too, would you want to be just killed for something you cant controll? The same is with many SCP's, for example 682 the hard to destroy reptile. Its at least as intelligent as a human and can be reasoned with. If he werent locked up and allways tried to be killed, i guess he could be a great friendly asset to the SCP foundation, but instead of trying to make peace its just KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT keep it in a acid tank! And there is a very easy way to turn the shy guy into a harmless great asset. Just put a metal helmet / mask on its head, permamently with screens inside and camera outside, like a see though VR-Headset and then his absurd strength and invurnablity could be a great help without posing a risk and shy guy himself would be happy too. I guess there is a clever or very simple way to deal with every SCP sentient or not. Even the scarlet king (wich i think should be sentient, so it can be reasoned with) could become an ally with the right reasoning. And if that doesnt work, i guess that what dr strange did with dormamu could break the scarlet king into to stop trying too.

He can regenerate, but more importantly he has adapted against other SCPs and techniques, making armors, absorbing, regenerating faster, changing the atomic structure of his own body, even be erased from existence and come back. @@str2010 But that doesn't account for the spinal disks, nor any of the neurons that branch out from said spine, or from the tiny holes in the skull that connect the ears and eyes to the brain. All of those could have been breached by an acid bath, or intense heat. So the neurons inside could have been burned away before, but the skeleton would be left. And even so, wouldn't that mean that this outer layer would still be there after the acid, and allow 096 to regenerate?

The only thing I can think of is that only when the skeleton of 096 is significantly damaged is it possible to destroy it from the inside. Maybe the skeleton is like a cable from which a current of energy flows that "powers" its regenerative abilities flows. When the skeleton is severed at any point it's like severing an electrical current. When that current ceases to flow Shy Guy's vital innards can't regenerate. Doesn't even make much sense to me, but this _is_ the SCP universe.

Yeah, but the main threat of 096 is images, no matter what kind of containment chamber, no matter what kind of precautions you take, even 4 pixels on an image will cause him to breach containment

Dr. Dan was only so eager to kill 096 because he knew it could easily end the world if a random civilian noticed a small speck in a decade-old picture. 682 is certainly more difficult to consistently contain, but there's no indication it's actually able to end the world as it is. Dan likely wouldn't see it as worth it.
