SCP-106 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Old Man.
SCP 106 The Old Man is one of the most famous and feared anomalies in SCP Foundation containment. This sadistic SCP is well known for his ability to move through walls, as he stalks his prey, before dragging them into his terrifying pocket dimension where their fate is inevitably sealed. But where did this strange creature come from? What motivates him to be so evil? Is is true that he was a World War 1 soldier? And if so, what effect did the battles of WWI have on his mind? Let me ell you the origin scp 106 was a former scp foundation employee who got dragged into the red room and walked and walked then the machine that got him there returned without him from the effects of the red room his particles blah blah blah disintegrated and framed him into a milky figure pike the scp 106 we see now He returned back here he had a wife that also work at the foundation he found her and she dint recognize him at first then she did as her husband then scp 106 kissed her but accidentally melted her away so the u0 year old woman younsee in the picture is auctally her and scp 106 is filled with memories of her i can't explain the desire to hear miserry so the schnauzer thereby or whatever is correct

Personally I stand by the Scranton theory because scp-3001 is one of my all time favourite scp and tales. It’s incredibly emotive and heartwrenching.

The young man origin story of scp 106 is a truly terrifying account of one soldier corporal Lawrence who was already anomalous that encountered other anomalies giving rise to the old man. Scp tales from the foundation made a great video on it, great atmosphere and storytelling, highly recommend you watch it

@@hananhilmi4027 idk, I thought he was just weird, but maybe he was a minor anomaly. He stared at people for too long, he rarely slept, instead of sleeping he'd usually mumble creepily (ex. One time he said the name of another soldier's daughter before giggling), smells like rot, soldiers around him often got diseases, and no one could find the papers for relocating the corporal into their platoon (thats all the potentially anomalous stuff i could remember). Added all up it kinda sounds anomalous, but at the same time they might just be coincidences

I think that there is just few of these old men. The original old man (one of those who are not captured yet, also the one who infected that crazy soldier), then Dr. Lawrence (who is probably something else or bit stronger than original one) and the crazy soldier (the one who is captured).

I believe the Scranton theory is way more likely also being greatly backed up by SCP-978's image unlike the other two theories due to since he was an SCP researcher he would want to live a normal life after some time, and wish to live peacefully with her wife (who would now be an old woman if she was alive) in a farm. Another point we should think about is how since the red dimension is timeless, the machine he was stuck with most probably came back at a random time and the same happened to Scranton, but he came back many years before he had been sent to the dark dimension

Alternate theory: He was an old man living with his wife and a pink dog. He really dislike the pink dog and was always scaring and pulling mischief on him, laughing at it's misery, which his wife didn't like and bonk him with a rolling pin every time. One day, the dog died and the Old Man's wife was in distress. She blamed the Old Man for killing the pink dog (which he didn't) and in distress left him. The Old Man in a state of rage went on a rampage across town, causing chaos destruction and then hid himself. For so long nobody knew where he went until clues came out about his identity and the old farm house where he lived with his wife. When the police caught him he killed most of them but ran and hid in the basement. Cornered, the Old Man thrrw chemicals at them, injuring many, but a bottle of unclosed bleached accidentally drenched him, burning his skin in the process. The police caught the Old Man but in a state of rage banged his head on the floor causing a collapsed and dragging two cops with him below. On a search later, police are unable to find any signs of the man or the cops that fell with him, only discovering black corrosive mucus like matter in the deep hole. The photo that shows SCP 106 desire of an old woman with his house is definitely him wanting to see his wife again.

With 096 it is believed he does it to defend himself from “The king of the Mountain”. With 682 he is compelled to hate because of his “father” the Scarlet King. With 049 it is believed he is genuinely oblivious and is trying to cleanse the world of the plague. With 106 it is believed he is either just a species trying to survive, it is a man who just wishes for everything to be back to normal, and the last is a metaphor for a man who has severe PTSD due to his time in the war.

He used to be Dr Scranton before his accident that lead him into the red reality. In one story he manages to finally escape it in the form that we now know him in, and when he reached for his wife she screamed in horror. That and the trauma of being stuck in a hellish dimension drove him insane.

I still don’t understand what the hole Larry fell into was able to transform him into such a powerful entity capable of phasing through matter and controlling his own personal Hell. It’s even heavily implied that he’s impervious to damage, lest he’d be far easier to contain. Was the hole connected to some cosmic level reality warper; such as SCP-435, He Who Made Dark? That would explain a lot, though not why a portal to 435’s domain opened in the trenches of WW1 (a failed ritual meant to fight someone’s enemies?) or why he was so receptive to the power that killed the other soldiers.

I think I am going with the dr Scranton theory. It makes sense, he finally escaped to return, only to accidentally kill his wife. Since his desire is to walk towards a farm house, with an old lady greeting him, he might be more humane that we think. Well humane for a psychopath that can wall through walls. Perhaps that old lady that greets him in the camera if desire is his former wife. Just aged considering she died in 2006 and it is current 2022. Perhaps SCP-999 could help him. Cure him from depression, which is a severe mental injury. The 106 we fear might be a useful tool for the foundation.

No no.The black rot was in the ground and German soldiers broke into it inadvertently as they expanded an area of their trench downward for extra protection from enemy shells.Corpral Lawrence and his team raids the trench and find the black rot all over the dead 💀 Germans .Lawrence wandered off and fell in the black rot pit and something came back out of the pit in Lawrence's body.SCP 106.

But in scp 3001, it is described that the console that popped back into our reality was covered in red gore, presumably all that remained of Scranton after his time in the red reality. He had tried to bite himself apart among other methods to end it, so it would make sense that his form would be nothing but a pile of gore. As far as I could tell, Scranton had died upon reentry to our reality.

Id like to think that the Scranton theory is correct as it would make sense as to why his desire is to be at a farm with his wife and him working away in the fields, as Scranton only wanted to go back to the time with his wife and be out of the hell hole he was in but alas he killed her so it could never be.

The Scranton theory is not true, SCP-106 has existed since at least World War II, and the Corporal Lawrence theory is probably the most likely theory that is true.

I think Dr Scranton's reality was held together by his mind and when he was losing his mind his reality fell apart. I believe he came back with the council and is currently the red blinking light.

The third one is most likely to be true if you think about it. Because when you are in pocket dimension and you try to escape you can appear in a place that is like this soldiers trench. And the scenery is like it was a world war in the past except that giant thing that we could call scp 106-1 that can kill you just by not having anything blocking the view on it above your head. Another things is the text my name is not 106 written in blood. So maybe the pocket dimension existed before and it turned the person into 106.

well the scranton theory kinda makes sense with the "Desire Camera" incident He accidentally killed his wife the one whom he loved the most he become a sadistic killer after that but deep down in his broken form and his broken mind he thinks his wife is still alive so the "Desire Camera" showed him returning to his wife on a farmhouse and she was in her mid 60's hence hinting to the time after they retired or were to old to work in the Founndation that was my case

The Scranton theory seems the most likely to me Even more so when you consider what "The Desire Camera" shows, the camera shows a seemingly normal woman waiting for 106 and disapproving the divergent species theory. Also the corporal theory seems to be a bit unexplained considering there's no theory's / explanation for the black goo just showing up for no reason while also disapproving the divergent species theory to an extent

Personally I have the most faith in The Scranton Theory, though more information could help. For example, it would help to know if The Old Man has DID, Bipolar, or other mood altering mental disorders. These disorders could have come about during his 6 years in his own personal hell. Also, the Desire Camera showed a picture of him and an elderly woman on a farm. Perhaps this was the life he wanted to live. This is where I develop my own theory however. I'd like to call this theory "SCP 3001-1." After being trapped in this reality for so long, a God-like entity had come into contact with Scranton, and had offered him power and a way out at the cost of his humanity. SCP 3001-1 offered The Old Man a part of his 'red reality' at the cost of human lives. That is why I believe he takes some of his victims into his pocket dimension. It is also possible that his ability to alter the pocket dimension is limited, and he is trying to pay off some kind of debt to have full access to it. That might be why he doesn't just create his true desire in his own reality.

The Corporal Lawrence theory seems to fit best, I think. I do recall when I watched Markiplier play the SCP game, he would refer to SCP-106 as “Radical Larry” ... & isn’t “Larry” short for “Lawrence”? IDK, but it just seems to fit better than the other theories, I think, even without the nickname from the game. 🤷‍♀️😅

My theory: Scp 106 used to be a man from maybe the 1900' s. He lived in a ranch with his wife. He was later informed that a nuke was heading to his area and he had no time to think so he went to his underground bunker. All that was left on the ranch was the nothing but maybe a trace of his wife. Years later he would preform some kind of ritual to bring his wife back, but it failed and now he is Scp 106. Blood driven to get his wife back and mad at people for causing that

Honestly I prefer the 1st or 3rd theory, I honestly think that Scranton wouldn’t be the old man and it would be cool if in a future scp story he would be rescued by the reluctant dimension hopper.
