That nanomachine swarm was probably famished while the kid had little to no imagination. That's probably the simple of it. The more complex of it is this... even a famished nanomachine swarm can be downright deadly, instantly mass-kill deadly, if he is very imaginative in deadly ways. As a kid, I'd just give a smug look as people had blood vessels burst, vehicles had gaskets fail, guns had their firing pins fall apart, and the organic components of gunpowder suddenly being nanomachine food. And yes, since childhood, I had morbid fascinations on top of being abnormally bright in non-social ways that led me to be an absolute horror and science fiction fan who spent a lot of time in my school libraries. My kid self would probably imagine this as a gaseous protector who can form temporary forms whose nature is somewhere between The Blob and Dracula's gaseous form. Instead of sneaking around and causing chaos with "sh^tty adults" I hated via little traps, swaps, fires, and pilifers, I would have experimented with the limits of my "killer ghost cloud bodyguard". Well, I would have probably still done the fires. I'm 50 and I still literally play with fire. When I try to express why it sounds nuts.

Lets be honest the most insane scp's would be gurren lagann or the big o, both are sentient machines that are to some degree capable of powering up by biologically fusing with it's pilot or syncing with the pilots own bio-electrical waves

i didnt have a problem with fighting them after i got powered up. they were kind of easy.

@@sphere7158 well the scp and its actions go against what mekhane is all about if it was really one of mekhane many body parts it would not only have a fixed body but also its anomalous abilties would have more connection to metal than abused kids and the scarlet king's followers are ruthless

@@niccoletta19 its mystery flesh pit national park here in texas, giant creature that lives in earth crust, so huge! humans can crawl around its insides like subterranean tunnels, its got hole bone structures and flesh that people can crawl through its dope af, the story has its that engineers built a theme park inside the creature and after awhile it woke up and the whole theme park came crashing down after that incident its been closed off to the public ever since.
