There are joke logs on 2317 where he actually awakens but isn't able to pass through the door and spends most of his time trying to tempt others to find way to free him

It is theorized that this is one of the children of the Scarlet King and was given birth to one of SCP-231. The basic story goes that the Scarlet King was a weaker god and basically thought existence was meaningless. He consumed his siblings (you heard me right) to grow more powerful, most of the other gods bowing down to him or face consequences. Also a cult was created called ‘Children of the Scarlet King’ which tries to help him fulfill his quest in ending existence. He then had seven children with one of the stronger gods (forgot her name) but she died in childbirth. The children were SCP-231 one through seven. He set seals on them so they would not die like their mother and cursed them to each give birth to monsters, them then being known as the brides. It is also messed up since the brides are his original children. It is said that the entity locked up in 2317 is one of the products of 231. It is said that the Scarlet King and his children will bring the end to existence, but there is still hope. SCP-999 is said to be the product of 231-7, the seventh bride being the opposite of the others. We are not sure of what will happen in the end, but I hope our little tickle monster will save us all.

Imagine the chains break, everyone assumes its going to destroy everyone for the lulz, and then it turns out it's actually pretty damn chill.

This is an example of why I love the SCP Foundation. This is a completely unstoppable force within the SCP universe, but the author/authors made a completely fake containment doctrine, and how to react if the fake doctrine doesnt go 100% perfect, just to make people think everything is chill. I wish I has literally 10% of the creativity that went into making this story!

This animation kinda missed the whole reason this SCP was unique. It's presented as a series of SCP personel with gradually increasing levels of security looking up information at their clearance level on the SCP, culminating in the reveal that all their containment procedures are just for show and do nothing to stop the inevitable breaking of the final chain.

That dimension is actually a great place to house other scp's. Just get all the dangerous ones in there and get a D class enter and destroy the door. But it's a one time use and you couldn't observe them.
