Thing is, SCP-2786 doesn't seem to acknowledge all the stories he intrudes in in prder to help are just, well, stories. That's why it couldn't tell if the Foundation is fictional or not.

That kind of logic is honestly brought about by human thought and nothing tangible. Tantamount to every stupid story trope made by ever stupid story teller in history. The idea that a fictional account of something happening doesn't hold water and is not valid unless some amount of strict rules are followed. The fact that someone came up with the idea of the SCP in the first place breaks down all these rules into one of two questions: does it play or does it fail? Will people accept it as a "proper" account of lies that sparks an interest, or does it just die to to the label of "hacky writing"? The idea that you can trick a fictional being into becoming some sort of villain is subjective. Main point being, no matter what it declares itself as, it relies on an outside perspective. Here, it has none but the reader clicking "re-calibrate" over and over. And by clicking the reader is making a choice to continue on the narrative and accept what they are reading as valid or reject it. Basically, it IS on a loop, but we have no control over the content that comes from re-calibration. So when it indeed comes to the point where they say it more or less doesn't exist. It's merely a forced narrative being shoved in our face without our reactions taken into consideration. So, yeah. It may be an interesting topic, but that's all it is. Just writing a set narrative down that cannot diverge from the path that it's on. Quite honestly, becoming itself a mockery of every SCP ever written and every one that ever will be written. It's the writer's story and they'll do whatever dumbass thing they want with it. Quite honestly why I gave up on every Batman incarnation beyond JLU. The writers keep making them, and I keep snuffing them from existence by my indifference. In a narrative battle, the stronger assertion wins. There is no good or evil, right or wrong, valid or invalid, etc. There is simply what continues to exist after final words have been spoken. Me.

Basically, SCP-2786 can't win or save anyone, because his existence as 'the hero' in a universe of tragedy means he will lose.

That's just another part of the journey, all epic heroes have had to spend time in a limbo like way, from Odysseus forgetting himself for years on circes isle, to herakles who lost his mind to rage for years, Theseus was tied to a chair in Hades for a decade or so. Odysseus needed a higher power to break his mind free, herakles freed Theseus, and herakles was released by another as well. The foundation has the one who will release 2786 from his limbo, they just haven't realized what their job is

@@badjuju2721 I think SCP-3812 is arguably the most powerful SCP. 2786 can control the narrative of this reality, being the SCP reality, but 3812 can control all levels of reality, above and below it. It's inherently all-powerful having no limit to the amount it can climb the levels of reality. To us, they are of equal power, but to 2768, 3812 is God.

This is one of the few SCPs that focuses on the horror of a Foundation given near limitless resources, tech, and authority rather than the horrors they themselves must face. The Foundation is not and never professed to be good guys, just a necessary evil.

Relatively harmless? Lets say you go to play your favourite horror video game and you don't end up playing. You just watch a character break the game and beat it with nothing fun out of it? Or your favourite horror movie... Ends before the killings and creepy shit.

Furthermore, while he normally fixes horror stories that usually have the hero win somehow, he ended up in a tragedy. A tragedy is the opposite of the hero's journey. For in a hero's journey the hero starts from the bottom, growing in strength and character, but in a tragedy, the hero starts strong in strength and character and falls into oblivion.

You NEED to read Gwenpool. It's about a girl from our world transported in Marvel Comics, where she believes she is the main character. She puts on a costume because, as she says, "if you're not wearing a costume, you're just an extra" right as a background character is killed by falling debris in the background. And her ultimate motivation is to make sure her comic is interesting enough that she doesn't get canceled and fade from existence in the Marvel Universe.

I don't think 2786 understands the concept of the foundation and that it's apparently only able to affect single copies of written stories, while having zero influence on real events.

I think it was actually implying that every story and every copy is it's own universe and dimension, and that the real world is just as fiction as the SCP universe.

That's evidenced by the quantum reality itself, friend.

And whoever the organization in that movie is, its doing a terrible job of keeping those things in containment....

Really, the complication was that he viewed things as black and white. Protagonist means hero and antagonist means villain. Doing horrible things is never justifiable, no matter the reason. The Foundation says '%*(# you, we sold our soul to keep you safe, that's the only reason you're here to complain about it'. D-Class includes criminals like murderers and rapists. Some of those humanoid SCPs would likely cause a lot of trouble and damage or would actually be worse off outside the foundation. He may have become the protagonist... but as an SCP, he was the villain. The Foundation does horrible things, yes, but they're generally in the defense and betterment of humanity. There's an Ethics Committee for a reason, after all. In truth, judging by how he acts, he's only in it for his own desires, not because he truly wants to better people. Just like characters such as Captain Hammer; characters who claim themselves the hero but only for their own ego (and would turn to villainy if they didn't get it, no doubt).

Wasn't really child like, it's more like a computer program designed to do one thing, but it's a inter-dimensional being made of that concept, the literary concept of the heroes journey. He always does the right thing and is in the right by nature, so that implies the foundation really are bad over all... but they can't except that and the fact that they are fiction. While some of its methods are wrong at times its ultimate goal is to keep the world in releative normalacy from these creatures and artifacts that by and large present great threat to not just humanity but the universe for some of them... it is only natrual some inhumane actions are needed to be taken to keep what reality we reside in safe. Even if some of these anomalies are harmless or helpful. Just remember humans dont tend to take to change all too kindly all the time.

Basically. He is basically the epitome of human will to win and overcome adversity. However, he is single minded and has binary sense of morality with a core set of beliefs that he will stand by no matter what. He views any unnecessary suffering as evil and needs to rectify it. The foundation is basically the epitome of human ingenuity, ethics be damned. So they would of course clash.

The problem is his own perception as the hero. This way he can't aknowledge that others need to perform actions in his stead (due to him not being present) that might differ, but are for the greater good.

In my personal cannon half these SCP are made by reality benders accidently or purposefully, exterestial experiments. Or demonic or interdemisional beings. Alot of them I'd say are reality benders.

I found this SCP after reading the longest fanfic ever made (as of August 2021). The work itself was a god-awful mess of a narrative, with a SELF-INSERT GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST, who would enter other works, such as Kingdom Hearts, or Family Guy, and punish everyone that he saw as evil, more often than not with one-sided ultra violent fight scenes where the “enemy” would do little, if any, harm to him and his zealots, while they got to inflict Hostel, or Saw-style torture upon their targets, either killing them, or giving them ludicrous punishments. Also, the GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST was ALWAYS in the right, even if he did something inhuman, such as wanting to remove Mr. Crocker’s brain, and turn it into a glorified battery for all fairy magic, or something dumb, in the form of withholding the fact that Mr. Mind was recruiting villains from Super Sentai (the show that Power Rangers gets it’s stock footage from) to join what is basically the story’s version of the Legion of Doom. Most chapters can be summed up as, GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST gets a new girl to join his harem, GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST detects something going on in another fictional world, GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST and his zealots go to that world, and encounter their target, the Legion of Doom, and some other villains that show up just because, a bunch of pilfered wiki articles about the world and villains, boring ultra violence, boring ultra violence, boring ultra violence, the “heroes” win, the Legion of Doom retreats after some stupidly friendly dialogue with the “heroes,” the protagonist(s) of that property get powers and become zealots for the GOD MODE MARTY STU PROTAGONIST, they eat dinner, THE END. As a result, this SCP functioned as some form of catharsis factor for me, seeing a character like that get defeated, and presumably humbled after the Foundation trapped it in it’s own broken article to prevent it from invading other stories.

They must be doing their job properly by ensuring all the SCPs they contain remain fictional, or else all the horrors of their world would effect us here in the real world. Is that like a triple meta or something? Like damn son.

That truth is one possible SCP-001. For very obvious reasons, all information about it has MAXIMUM LEVEL RESTRICTIONS. As it has the potential to end reality.

Imagine this though. The foundation actually exists and due to a possible high level disaster they've had to find a way to reveal some of their information without causing mass panic and drawing too much attention. So, they hired some writers, made a website and put up some stories. Then, slowly put in some of the real stuff. Why would they do that? Maybe one of the entities in the SPC archive grows weaker as more people believe it's not real. So they made people think this is just an elaborate horror anthology project. Meanwhile, a lot of it is half-true or inspired by real creatures.

@@notgray88 Its an SCP that goes into different fictional media and "saves the day" stopping all conflict from happening. It follows the Hero's Journey of a Hero finding his "gift" and journing into the unknown (i.e. Saving fictional universes not of his own) but he never gets to finish his journey. And he never gets to go home because everytime a new fictional universe is made, out of his narcissistic belief that he is the Savior of all he has to go and save it. And this drives him mad. Because he thinks he's done everything right, everything perfectly. That he's saved everyone. But he cant go home, because he isnt done. He's a Hero constantly stuck in the climax of his story.

A screenplay written and directed by Dr. Bright.

For me it was Gemodawn, or as she's more well known as, "SCPReadings". She was really the only good SCP reader on RU-vid at the time, before Volgun and Illustrator started reading, and she covered a large variety of scps. She's also the reason I found Lord Bung's Confinement series, where she voices Doctor Natalie Powers. Even though she hasn't done a single scp reading for months now, she's still with us in Confinement.

(I actually pre-date Gemodawn by a few months ... it's just back in those times, I didn't read documents - only tales)

TheVolgun I was aware, but I was more interested at listening to Gmo reading documents at the background while I'm doing something else, being relatively new and unfamiliar with the scp universe besides the old CB game, she was very informative and welcoming. He is the perfect. He is literally the original character. Also, it’s kinda funny how he’s literally a self-insert.

Cheese Wizard's definition is pretty good. But I like the idea of it just being an incarnation of the Mary Sue, since it has so many features that these 'perfect' characters tend to have.

@@jackisawesome3 i would consider him to be a spoiler becuase he's spoiling the movie or novel by resolving all conlict before it can happen hence it spoils the movie/book by ending prematurely he's not a hero if he's resolving a conflict BEFORE it can cause a situation that needs a hero for instance the silent hill movie him sabaotaging the car so the movie just ends doesnt make him a hero thsi removes all the story and spoils/RUINS the movie for the person watching it spoiling doesnt have to mean giving away the details of the movie it can juts mean SPOILING the movie EXPERIENCE by making it BAD
