I wonder if this had all been a misunderstanding, and when he whispered "Are we cool yet?" he didn't mean "Have we become magnificent?" but "Is our feud over now?"
I wonder what the mindset was of the individual who created the sculpture known as SCP-173. Could the sculpture be the artist's interpretation of humans as a whole? Maybe they feel that all humans do is destroy and give back nothing good in return. Maybe the person chose those two actions of snapping necks and defecating to symbolize violence, how quickly people can destroy, and how little humans contribute to the world as far as making it better. The fact that the sculpture only takes action when not looked at could also be meant to symbolize how narcissistic people can be.
In one of the SCP video, SCP-173 is a sculpture created as an art to be admired, which is why when SCP Foundation enclosed it inside a room, it got angry and kill everyone who stop admired (paid attention) to it.
I think it’s the delivery, Hunter is just a really funny person. He’s the main reason I got into SCP because I heard that he was the main va for this channel
I once read a rather interesting project from the AWCY hub that really exemplifies the kind of mindset these anartists have. The concept is a piece of performance art in the form of a mock courtroom trial. They start by kidnapping someone in the vicinity to play the "defendant". Then they implant false memories in this person of them committing a heinous crime. Specifically one that they determined (through anomalous mind-reading) that this specific individual considers especially disgusting. Then they erase the memory of the whole procedure, and the main performance starts. They are put on trial for this fake crime, and inevitably sentenced to death. Real death, not "part of the show" death. The artist said that he was inspired by a trial that he himself was the defendant in. He intended to convey how he felt mistreated by the justice system. He also specified that he was actually guilty of the crime he was accused of, but doesn't consider that fact relevant to the point. He never got to show it off to the art world, though. During a trial run of the performance, he was killed when the "defendant" shot him with a gun that was provided as an experimental "wild card".
Gamers against weed is one of my favorite groups of interest because they're just lil trouble makers, they don't want to hurt anyone. Just little pranksters.
Love the SCP videos! 10/10 as always!! On a different note, time to go head to head with R We Cool Yet: "Complaining about a problem without posing a solution is called whining." -Teddy Roosevelt The fatal flaw of the Are We Cool Yet ideology is the notion that these * artists * somehow think themselves apart from, or above, the whole of humanity that they often loath. It's a stellar example of narcissism. They are all too eager to comment and bring attentions to many issues and faults of humanity; yet, contribute nothing to the resolution of these said issues (of which many may arguably be non-issues). Their creations do little to forward any agenda in fixing the faults and problems of humanity that they perceive. On the contrary: some of their works actively hinder human progress. The artists seldom display regard for life or the free will and autonomy of others; a trait that is reflected in their horrific work. Their an-art, if anything, only serves to further hinders human progress and is counterintuitive. The soapstone statue is an ironic testament to the prryhic and hypocritical nature of the group. I wouldn't go as far to say all cases follow this notion of hypocrisy and counterintuitiveness. I am sure there are examples of an-art that is more of a progressive influence in their agenda to fix the flaws of humanity. In the end, it seems to me that many of the Are We Cool Yet members express an ideology that is similar to a whiny, angsty teen who is sick of something but too lazy to fix it. Or as my favorite narrator puts it: I guess I *JUsT dOn'T GEt iT MANNNN"
Been waiting for this one, AWCY is my favorite GOI, they have such unique takes on how to use anomalies, and their document format contains some fascinating commentary on the role of art and perception in shaping our reality
I have an idea for some anart. Work with several anartists to change or create a counterpart to their creations to balance out the effects anomalously and discretely, but create a secret art movement dedicated to appreciating their pieces. Invite only. That’d be pretty darn cool
What fascinating journey into one of the things not often covered by SCPs in general: anomalous creators. I mean other than Doctor Wondertainment we don't have a lot of people who sign SCPs.
I feel like these guys along side the serpents hand would be my peers ( Don't worry I probably be in one of the less violent cells) if I was in the SCP universe * holds up the giant (roughly 6 ft) posable 682 doll she made* I would definitely make anomalous dolls if I could lol
One of my favorite scp's related to are we cool yet is a box with a skull up top that makes right handed folks left handed, since people say left handed are better at painting or drawing on a piece of paper. I forgot the number of the scp, but it's an interesting one. Edit: it was SCP-2741: a sinister device.
Can’t say the number off the top of my head, but it’s actually a pun! The title of the SCP is “Sinister” or smth to do with the word sinister. If you’re already left-handed, the box will tell you that you’re already very sinister. Because that was the old term used to describe left-handedness! It’s a really neat SCP based off of wordplay
If there's an AWCY member reading this (if this were in the SCP universe), try making this same device but would instead make people right-handed. Call it "A Dextrous Device".
i think the message means that they created a conceptual object which scans rather interestingly when you recall that in the Black Moon video it was the foundation trying to make a voodoo doll of sorts to halt Black Moon events that led to the creation of Peanut
Several members of the AWCY SCP forums, actually came out in a vice documentary. As being part of the 3D gun printer movement, with some awesome designs bty.
The coolest anart story is when Are We Cool Yet? drew an army of ink and fire to fight the army of the apocalypse to a standstill. And When the army of god realized that they aren't gaining any ground, AWCY wrote "Are We Cool Yet?" in the sky.
As an artist I would like to submit my application for all of the groups. If any member of foundation are reading this. You do not recognize the bodies in the water
As a French, I love the moments when the voice actor talk in French, it's hilarious because that's clearly not said like that in French, like "des" youy don't pronounce the "s", it is prounced "dé". Really good job, as usual.
This was a delight to listen too. It's been a long while that I get to appreciate what I learned in Art History. That was very well written. Thank you for covering this. ❤
Art is what humans define as either aestheticly pleasant, or arbitrarily meaningful. Of course it's all around us, because it doesn't exist at the same time.
Bro... You guys just don't get it. It's our art, man. It's our passion, our feelings, it's what makes us tic. Sure, "maybe" our art _might_ kill people but like... Beauty is pain bro. Like, you're just not cool enough to understand, you're just jealous of our artistic talent. It's okay to envy- just don't do it around us, we don't need your bad vibes 🙄✋ - some AWCY member probably
Funny…some of my Chaos Insurgency, in my headcanon, actually WOULD have a problem with AWCY? for not giving a damn who their anart happens to be pointed at!
What about SCP 682 vs the world destroyer also I refuse to believe this is the guy from limenade right? Never Gonna Give You Up Never gonna let you down never gonna turn around and desert you.
Hah yes the final one is quite understandable. Sharks are not that dangerous, only us consider those as dangerous since it just wanna take a bite to taste. Shark of course would hate our meat since it loves smaller fishes. So who is more dangerous? humans or sharks? are we cool yet?
Yeah, art's definitely something that you can hear alright and not just see. Those CDs produce music which is what you hear, not art! Art is what you can only see as music is what you can only hear. I don't think it's possible to mix the two of them at all!
You're just mixing up the word painting and art. Art is an umbrella term for human creative works, of all forms. I mean, think about poetry. Poetry is a "visual" art that's intended to be spoken aloud, using the codes we created to represent specific human sounds. That's a visual and an audio experience, and poetry is undoubtedly art. Classical art makes you think of big oil paintings, but it also refers to classical music.
@@jasonbaroody1310 there are sculptors who make works that are supposed to be experienced through touch. Sculptures are definitely art, but these aren't meant to be enjoyed with eyes. Art just means a human creative work.
Are We Cool Yet?: Would you like to see something strange and artistic? SCPF, GOC, FBI:UIU, and HI: NOOOO!!! Get outta here with that art! Lay off the poor people will ya?! JEEEEZ!!! You're all creeps! Go away!!! We were dealing with enough crap when you showed up, damnit! Uuugh!!! Go do normal stuff, like game, or something! Because we'll tell you something... We want a normal world. *Sighs*
