SCP: Secret Laboratory just dropped the info the HUGE "soft" rework for SCP-079. Northwood just dropped a boat load of information for all of the new changes for SCP-079 and it is NUTS.
With the release of the Mimicry/A Silent Night trailer for patch 12.0, Northwood has talked about SCP-939 and the HUGE overhaul that they are giving it. Additionally, they've talked about all of the other SCPs that are getting an update in this patch: SCP-049, SCP-079, SCP-106, and SCP-173. Patch 12.0 for SCP: Secret Lab is looking to be a crazy ride!

good changes. nuke ability pretty broken though. also that micro xp is a bit high. micro usage has been declining and this doesnt help it

Thinking of this, that's insane potential and will basically cut off the "do this to kill it" loop that all scps follow... provided a player is 079.

These are some really nice changes to 079, however there is one personal desire I still would love to see added to 079, one that I've had for a few years. Being: I wish 079 introduced another win condition for the SCP team, being the ability to release 682 from containment. Mind you, I suppose they could add this to the Alpha Warhead detonation. Namely if 079 setting off the nuke put a timer on the other teams to finish off the remaining SCPs, with failure to do so leading to 682 getting out.

@@MylesMor4les perhaps, no player would be 682, maybe instead it’s an event like nuke. Or maybe a way to lock heavy containment by releasing 682, thus making heavy lock down and everyone still in heavy just dies. This would make it so that people won’t be just hiding in heavy until the next C.I/MTF spawn.

this is a stupid idea but at tier 4-5 maybe 079 would give the mtf helicopter wrong coordinates so either ci or nothing spawns? uses all auxiliary power and can be done once per game

I think tier 5 is what the foundation avoid 079 getting to, hence the memory wipes, so tier 5 is 079 put through 914 on fine

Legit some of the changes in this update for computer are changes I've been *begging* them to add on steam for roughly the last year. As a computer main (or as close as you can get to that with an RNG roles system) I'm absolutely dying to try the new computer out. I'll have to make BIG revisions to my computer guide.

Honestly, I'm now really wanting to know about the other scps, and 939. Specifically 049, currently he can only turn people into zombies, and can only talk through modded servers, I really want to see some updates to the zombies too.

Its mostly controlling doors to make it easier for scps to go around the facitlity and catch humans while also using communication to let others know whats going on.

079 can't activate the nuke if the warhead is disabled though, right? Would be a bit too unfair if he could just straight up override it and turn it on anyways even if you've turned off the nuke.

*pings nuke* The scps can re-enable it but if 079 got to tier 5, yeah he's overriding the override (once it's been set off that is) so if he sets it off and you're nearby don't try activate it

I love the update besides the new XP system. Sure, the old was was kinda bad, but now stuff like the micro denying seems too situational. if MTF dont chase the scps, if everyone stays on surface, if nobody gets the micro, it adds this "preventing 079 xp gain" trick. Overall, I still think its better than the old one, but not a massive improvement.

I would have like to switch the camera by having an interface like fnaf but anyway now it will fell like SAW -Jim i want to play a game i locked you in 096 containment chamber you will have to run because a nuke will go of in 40 seconds go. Maybe for the rework if the enemy don't recontain him fast enough at tier 6 he create a cyborg he use as a body and can go personal with a minigun
