I found a impact wrench in a scrap pile behind a building. I ordered a rebuild kit and a anivl. Anvil still hasn't been delivered. I cleaned and replaced all parts in the kit. My air compressor doesn't meet the air specs for a test run.
Thanks. It works. My air compressor doesn't have enough airflow to power the tool. I took it to a local garage and used the bigger compressor. The repair worked.
This one I found in pile of junk ready for scrap. Pulled it and cleaned it up ordered the parts. I'm still going order that 1" shaft be on the safe side. I welded broken part smooth it installed it back. I cancelled previous order of that part due beginning of pandemic and mail took too long to get part. Thanks.
just took the one I found apart.. the cylinder that the rotor with the paddles rides in was rusty, I was able to clean it up. both bearings are grinding and need replaced.. the shaft is fine,, I think the tool sat somewhere without use, or got water in it due to no air seperator on the air compressor or just left in the elements. not sure im going to fix it, because I would rarely use it and would have to either get a 1 inch to 1/2 inch adapter or some 1 inch sockets. @@zeroninejames9507
also I dont know how critical the tolerance is where the rotor paddles ride against the housing, im hesitant abt spending 50.00 for a rebuild kit, and it works like shit when im done. they dont seem to be built very well, judging by my rusty innards and your broken shaft.. the metal inside should be better quality, because they know moisture will get trapped inside of it.. chinese bullshit..
do u know how to pull the bearing out of the front housing , do u need a slide hammer type bearing puller? cant see a way to knock it out from the backside.. @@zeroninejames9507
