Thank you for the inspiring demonstration. I bought a wooden box, and the brush and glue years ago, intending to decoupage the outside to keep EPP bits in, and I sew a lot with Liberty tana lawn. Now I’ve got no excuse and it may encourage me to actually begin doing the EPP if I also have a pretty box for my project.

Do you have somewhere I can send you a photo? In my mom’s house , (we moved there in 1973), the bathroom was decoupaged in vintage magazines, some were pattern / sewing mags. Really old ones from the early 20th century, the lady that lived here before found the in the attic. I just moved out a few months ago and I took photos of it. I want to show you, it’s super cool. The lady that lived there before us also did the third floor decoupaged with tapestries, the kind you would get in India. That’s the real deal, boho. My mom never took them down. She died a year ago and the house is for sale now. I was going to buy the house, but my roommates backed out after George Floyd was murdered just a few miles from there, and this part of the city was burned. It has been a bummer, I wanted to stay there, now that I was finally home. I lived abroad for 10 years in Mexico and New Zealand. I tried to figure out how to take the bathroom walls out and bring them when I moved. That’s a bit much, I know and everyone I asked said they would fall apart. I ended up getting a condo less than a block from there and I am setting up an awesome sewing space and plan on starting a channel. I am in that process and I want to make bins for a cube storage. What materials should I use if I were to do the front of the drawers or bins I am going to make? I also want to put drawer pulls on them and I love the idea of decoupage at least for some of them. Thanks for the inspired idea! I put fabric on boxes I store things in and jars, I guess I hadn’t thought of decoupage, can you do cardboard? I do it to recycle the boxes and I have more than enough fabric to cover all the walls in new my home haha. Did you ever say what the fabric is you used for your pink southbank sweat dress? I still like yours the best if any I’ve seen done. It’s the cutest jersey dress ever. Sorry for blabbing, I was just thinking of decoupage & there you were doing it. I guess I got carried away telling you. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Hi that sounds amazing and I’d love to see them, my ditsy tulip email is still active, it’s ditsy-tulip@virginmedia.com 💖 so sorry about your mum and not being able to proceed with purchasing the place😔 How exciting to be planning your own channel, you will really enjoy it I’m sure. The pink sweatshirting fabric was from a remnant basket so sadly I can’t link to it xx

I'm definitely going to try this. I have a square glass container that I use as a thread catcher when I'm trimming threads at my sewing machine. It originally contained a scented candle. I thought of sewing a box shaped container out of fabric and fusible fleece to stick the glass container in there but your idea seems smarter.

Thanks for sharing - really like these ideas and it’s opened my eyes to some different things rather than the usual scrunchies etc... I’ve been wondering what to do to liven up an old dresser so this is really useful :)

Thanks. You really helped me. I bought 3 pieces of 1.5 yards each of Tana Lawn, but I hate the way it looks when sewn in a blouse (lack of drape). I thought I was stuck not using it. Now I will cover everything I own in decoupage items. Thanks so much. Merry Xmas to you and your family.

Your sewing machine looks great. How did you manage to still have the Bernina name showing? This would be great to cover a lap tray.

Hi Mel. I did the Liberty rock pattern weights last year because of you. 😘. The large surface of your dresser drawers and machine cover. Did you use small circular scraps on them as well? I’m wondering if the scraps are larger on the larger surfaces.
