I also don't have a lot of elaborate leftover canes. So I love that you can use fresh clay and come up with such incredible designs. I'm gonna try this 1 today!I also love your calm manner Stopping and starting after . Helps keep tutorial from being an hour long! Thank you!

I'm absolutely your biggest fan, Fiona. I find myself watching your beautiful, precision work several times per video, so I can focus first on technique and tools, then on patterns, then on colours, etc, etc. Your work is absolutely gorgeous and I aspire to your level of both technical expertise and artistry. Thank you so very much for being willing to share your gifts so openly so that beginners like myself have a world-class bar set for both my learning goals, and my own art work.

Overall I prefer the veneer done with new clay, but as it's a scrap clay technique, out of the extruder and hand method, I prefer the veneer completed by hand, it appears much brighter, although it is not as uniformed, that's the pros and cons of different methods. I think the end pendant is wonderful and something I am inspired to try, thank you for sharing your ideas Fiona.

this brings out so many ideas on what i could do with the technique! Being Christmas time, everything I think is of course, Christmasy....color combo's, etc. I do have to say, while my clay is put away at the moment still, I am cleaning up my 'craft area' (aka whole room) so that I can get it back out after New Years. Feel free to send me all your cane ends however, I know you must be overloaded with them LOL. Love the cane end extruded one best, but all three are gorgeous!!

When you load the extruder, it seems the main color of the first bit is what surrounds the long extruded piece. Soooo, if you want a light or bright color, you'd put that as to come out first. Just FYI. I love watching you do these polymer clay mixed up canes.

As I was reccing your comment, I glanced up and spotted your name. 😳 Please remind me not to marry you! 😆 Insofar as Fiona is concerned, *she* is who I want to marry! I often leave her vids on, unattended, just so I can be soothed by her voice. I’ve dozed off watching ‘em before (not because they’re boring; noooo! It’s because her voice is sooo calm, and calming, and she hasn’t any verbal tics*. I’ve sometimes listened to her when I was upset about something and discovered it took less than *four minutes* to calm the heck down!) Number one on my bucket list is a trip to meet Fiona. With my luck, though, chances are excellent that she’s a dragon who snarls at people in a crazy high-pitched, LOUD raspy voice, the kind which makes you keep clearing your throat when you hear it, and I’ll be overcome by the urge to put a plastic bag over her head and squeeeeze really, *really* tightly. As always, thanks for everything, Fiona, and hi, Minky; it’s nice to meetcha (but not so nice that we hafta be married!) (yet, anyway 😉). *WRT verbal tics, in the past three-fives years, why on Bob’s green earth have polymer artists started filling their tutorials with “Now let’s go ahead and …” and “Now you’re going to want to …”? There is a small number of them who do it several times in a SINGLE SENTENCE! And they add absolutely NOTHING to ANY sentence! Watch: *Tutorialer*: Now go ahead and put the clay in the pasta machine, and … *Sane people*: Put the clay in the pasta machine … Just one more so your brains don’t explode: *Tutorialer*: Now you’re going to want to put a little bit of mica powder in the lid of the jar. Go ahead and dip your finger in the mica, getting a little on the tip. Now you’re going to want to lightly touch the clay with your fingertip. Go ahead and brush your finger lightly across the clay, and you’re going to want to cover that area with the mica powder. *Sane people*: Put a little bit of mica powder in the lid of the jar. Dip your finger in the mica, getting a little on the tip. Lightly touch the clay with your fingertip. Brush your finger lightly across the clay, and cover that area with the mica powder. See? In the examples without the tics, you saved 27 minutes by not reading extraneous words. Over the course of your lifetime, that’s 256 years you *didn’t* spend reading words which add nothing but wasted time! I can’t think of a way to suggest to people that they listen to their own vids to catch any errors hoping they’ll spot the tics, but these days, even constructive criticism couched in all the affection and love in the world will result in hate mail, threats, and doxxing by people trying to “support” someone they believe has been “attacked,” so I’ve simply had to stop watching certain people who drive me *too* far out of my mind to listen to ‘em. It’s a shame, but those seem to be the only two choices: to go ahead and and listen, or just not. For the sake of my sanity (which I can already hear you questioning! 😉), I choose the “not” option, and hope that those artists I love the most (Kathleen Dustin, Fiona, Bettina Welker, etc) don’t pick these wretched habits up or else I won’t have *anyone* to listen to! (FYI, Fiona, you haven’t any verbal tics that drive me crazy! Not ONCE have I caught you saying so much as a single “um” or “uh,” and I love you all the more for it! 💕) To anyone who’s made it this far: Hi! 👋🏻 And I’m sorry. I live a shockingly solitary life, and when I do this, composing these “Beowulf”-like messages, I suspect it’s because I’m lonely. I’m sorry you ran into it. 😞
