Scrap segregation, processing and feeding is a very important part of Induction melting. Proper system can improve the productivity and reduce the power consumption. The IF capability can be enhanced from 0.9-1.0 to 1.1-1.2 MT/MVA/month.
Feeding of segregated scrap in right proportion and at right time is the heart of the induction melting process.
So far, we have been focusing on bringing the scrap to the furnace platform and we have given very little focus on the process of making the scrap enter into the furnace.
