We love coming up with creative uses for our scrap wood. This DIY salt writing tray is made in less than a day and is the perfect learning toy for our child. In this How-To, we cover the step-by-step process and the tools needed to make this yourself. Additionally, we explain a few different ways to play and learn with this DIY toy. I get old wooden wine crates from eBay, sand them smooth and attach two ceramic knobs to make it look like a drawer. I always fill them with diapers and wipes and give them away as baby shower gifts - later they’re used as toy boxes for years.

That's an awesome way to reuse those crates! I love it and thanks for sharing ! ~Amanda

I made „I spy bags“ - leftover fabric, dry rice, little used figurines from the thrift store and the window was made from plastic pouches that are used to pack fireworks rockets (in Germany anyways) - people always leave them behind on New Years :/

Also another awesome homemade toy reusing and secondhand items! I so wish more people would do this 💚 ~Amanda
