Note: outer shell weighed 7.5 lbs of clean aluminum. The rest was ewaste, #2 and #1 copper, aluminum, tin. THERE WAS ALSO a CPU chip under one of the HEATSINKS THAT HAD GOLD

This is an apple iMac - not a monitor. As you've found there is heaps of stuff in there - but please be very careful with disassembly. The main reason: The power supplies in them are exposed (can be touched), and the capacitors in that power supply can retain a charge for quite some time. You can give yourself a VERY nasty zap if you touch the wrong contacts together. If you touch that component only on the edges you should be fine. Else as long as its been unplugged for ages it should be ok too. But if you plug the computer in to see if it powers on: beware.

Yeah i am not an apple person. Found two of these and was surprised they are whole computers 😆 Also found this monster desktop i forgot about in the back of the dungeon. Only peeked inside, 2 power supply and massive board. S10 it may have said...? Haha

Nice score for sure. Look at the CPU, some of them that have the gold around it that don’t have the gold pins sticking out can be so old online for $100

HI TinMan, at 16:32 talking about the copper tabs, my scrap yard won't take them as #2 copper because it is 'too much plastic' I have so many of them, any advice beside cracking each one open with side cutters? Thanks

What about trying another yard if there is any other ones in the area.

Do you go to AIM recycling? A lot of what you describe in your videos for scrap requirements line up with AIM requirements.

If they tell you the prices are going down do you hold onto things and wait for them to go back up? Do prices fluctuate up and down pretty often?

Brass and copper I hold onto for sure. Aluminum price does not change too much. Tin dropping from 10 cents to 8 I don’t hold onto it because it takes up too much space.

Can I ask what the estimated scrapped out value was for this Apple monitor?
@TinManScrapper

Probably $8 for the clean aluminum, $3 for copper, $3 for ewaste, $2 for tin. The CPU that I found under one of the heat sinks is worth some good money. There are some like that style with non gold pins sticking out that run for $100 online. There is a number on the back that I have to look at once I clean off the silver puddy to see for sure.
