Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free copper, tin, cast aluminium, brass, and other metals that that are found scrapping a pool pump. I will show you how to safely and effectively identify and separate the metals in order to maximize your profit and divert as much of the material away from the landfill as possible.

I've taken apart 10 pool motors in the last month and only 2 was all copper. The others were either all aluminum or the 2 smallest strands were copper. I also have been fortunate enough to have taken apart 3 pool heaters and gotten about 60 pounds on copper.

Final breakdown 3.75lbs #2 copper ($17.21) at $4.59 a pound and 20lbs tin ($3.20) at $0.16 a pound. Note: of course motor fell off after the small grind on the pin attaching the motor 3 seconds after taping

Motor was 16.6lbs with casing and copper.

Glad you enjoyed it. Would have liked to have gotten the motor out to show. Of course, once I stopped taping I made the cut on the spring with the grinder and out popped the motor.

Yeah, my parents live out in the country and my dad finds the scrap in town as he is going to work, never in the country. Although, I have found the odd tin and appliance put out by farmers.
