What a sexy scrap. WOWZA! I enjoyed this scrap thoroughly and completely. It was fun to hear your enthusiasm and your delight at the finds. Don't worry about your work bench. We scrappers all have stacks and stacks of boards lying around ready to be depopulated. Thanks for the fun and exciting scrap session. Cheers from North Carolina
The heatsink screws might be "Bristol spline" heads. Requires a very rare and expensive screwdriver. Typically the kind of tool you never need... except when you REALLY need it !
Maybe needle nose pliers would have worked for those heatsink nuts as they didn't seem very tight. Otherwise run a hacksaw across the top of them to make a shallow slot, and then use a flat head screwdriver. Interesting video Ben - thanks 😊
This is the reason I love your videos it's always interesting to watch or I'm learning something new thanks Ben. Oh I watch you on a 60 in screen make me feel like I'm standing right there in the yard lol.
Old School makes it sooooo very Interesting to be stripped out ! Wow - and Your Explanation was spot on ! Never known this Type of Analyzer - was great Fun seeing Inside and all those Goodies ! Chook made a brief appearance - we Love the Unusual Electronic Equipment very much - well done - Stay Safe and many Cheers from us here in QLD !!!!
Nice pull Brother! You may want to get a geiger counter to check for radiation! I have one because sometimes I get stuff like this. I have a special suit I use that has led in it. It blocks radiation when dismantling! You did great at the yard bro!! I'm on my way to the yard this morning! I will post a video of our scrap yard here in America and how much I made!
IDK anything about computers, motherboards, chips, etc. I've always been curious. I use to get computer building & board building books & read through them. It was like reading Chinese to me. You make it all so fascinating, interesting & exciting to me. Keep up the wonderful videos. I watch the short ones, as well as the extra long ones. 👍👍👍👍👍 Oh yeah, the precious metal recovery is also amazing!
I seriously had to laugh about this ! A comedy in 3 acts Act I (rising action): @2:50 "Oh wow, that ´s heavy !" Act II (climax): @2:57 Lifting up the load with the power of Hercules. Act III (resolution): @3:22 "Warning, heavy, must be lifted by two people" (this sticker was only visible AFTER you lifted up the heavy load). Thank you Ben for this unexpected screenplay !
Ben. there is no silver in inductors; mostly iron with a little copper. There is no silver in old resistor packs; mostly carbon with a little cu-sn-pb.
Thanks for sharing what was inside. always interesting to see what's in specialized electronics. that is a toroidal transformer and a half huh, that thing must be in 1 to 2 KVA power rating, if you leave the wires long enough just the toroidal transformer would be worth over 500$ alone, or even maybe 1000$ as you said. you should get ahold of Dave at the EEV blog ask him to have a look at it for you.
Small suggestion, why not get a couple of extra wheely bins for the motherboards you want to depopulate? Or why not an orange tub at that? It could help keep the garage tidy when stuff piles up. I reckon you cound cover the entire walkable surface of the garage with big orange tubs, compared to now that would give you the ability of moving the stuff when you need it 😁 Watching your videos gives me loads of ideas 😁
@@eWasteBen thank you for all the content and also for the interesting and useful information. Sadly I cannot come there and help so the best I can do is to shoot ideas from a far 😁
I would have gave you $12 for that board with the tantalum caps. I had to buy some from mouser electronics and it cost me like $32 just for 5 of them..is it possible to buy some the older boards from you.
Hey ben! Im fairly new to e waste, being in the U.S. and all, but i recently came across something interesting. Its a vintage ultra sound machine. If its alright could i send pictures of the boards to you to get an idea of what im looking at?
Good day Ben and Chook . Good video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members. Same to all other persons watching. Have a sunshine day. 47 degrees here today. Ttyl my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
Could you imagine? I mean legitimately, it be better then a goldmine , anything to do with gravity generation or general power, would be priceless the metal alloys as well
This was so informative. I have been trying to find for a RU-vid video similar to yours that really breaks down the ideas in this video.Your tip for sure is similar to the content from this insightful Dr. Ethan. Dr Ethan's explanations are insightful and I really learned a lot for my midterms! He is an educational medical student on RU-vid and he explains diseases. I suggest you check his channel out and give the Dr a like! ➡️ #FutureDrEthan
