Today, I'm scrapping some miscellaneous motors (Fridge Compressor, Washing Machine, 84 Suburban alternator) and some blood sugar testing equipment that had been retired.
This channel will focus on my scrapping, Recycling, and melting hobbies.
Enjoy!

I subscribed, content is good, but consider a tool board in front of you below your camera to hold your most needed tools. Instead of in a pile on your workbench. And get your floor organized. Looking forward to more.

Oddly enough, I was working on shop organization this past weekend. You'll see a good bit of changes in the next videos. I need to buy one more tool box though (Wall space is already covered).

When using a grinder with a aluminum oxide cutoff wheel there shuld be more steal partikals then cutoff weel partikals . Let the weel work for you not fores the wheel to work. It takes less wheels and power to run the grinder .and if you are easyer on the grinder it may last longer.

Appreciate the feedback. I think I destroyed the disk when I tried reversing the directions was cutting ( top of grinder to the left instead of to the right) I was trying to send the dust away from me, but it was harder to control due to the cut direction. That's why it kept stalling out as well.

No it kept stalling because your battery was low and you were bending the wheel. I've seen grinders cut both ways.

Battery was fully charged, but I had it on the lowest speed (its variable). Yes, they do cut both ways, but one direction pushes it away from the cut and the other drags it into the cut. The push is easier to control than the drag. When it drags into the cut too much, it stalls.

Not sure how you've not found many aluminum degaussing wires in CRTs. I've been pulling apart CRTs for probably 15 years and without a doubt I've found more aluminum than copper. Plenty of the bright pink ones like in your video. Not saying your's aren't copper. Just suggesting it could be a good idea to use your angle grinder to just buff the enamel coating from it after you've bundled it up. However, I've also found that most yards I sell to don't check magnet wire (motor, trans, inductor windings), likely due to their employees not being educated to check. I'll tell you what though, having moved to a new city and shown up at a yard with close to 400lbs of #2, only to watch them use a Dremel wheel to check any bundles of what looked like the aforementioned wire types, snapped me out of the habit in a hurry. Same thing happens with zinc die cast and cast aluminum. I swear I'm the only guy in my town who separates high zinc alloys from my cast aluminum and only one person, one time ever payed for the correct commodity, rather than tell me to toss it in with my AL cast.

call it luck. So far all the degaussing cables have been copper. The pair out of the Toshiba 36 inch were 2 and a half pounds. I do check them all as my preferred method is to cut the cables before stripping them.

you spend more time looking for your tools, just take them to the scrap yard and let them do it. save you a lot of time and effort.

This past weekend was spent on shop organization. Have most everything in one place now. Problem is I have many projects and a big basement shop, so things tend to get spread out as I work.
