You are so generous to give your time to help others make such a lovely quilt. Thank you for the pattern and the easy to follow instructions. I have always hesitated to make a red and white quilt with the fear of the red colour staining into the white. I guess the smart thing to do is to prewash the fabrics separately to check if the red is ok to use. This will be my first red and white quilt.

You're Welcome. Prewashing is always a good idea. Even if I've prewashed and washed a quilt many times I still add a color catcher or two to the wash. Last weekend I washed an older quilt(red, white and green) it bled and the color catchers were bright pink.

I use colour catchers all the time. I wash over and over with fresh ones each time until the colour catchers come out white.

@@KelleysQuiltsandCruises I do the same. Color catchers are hard to find sometimes. I found 3 boxes the last time I went to the store. I felt like I hit the lottery!

I shop on Etsy most of the time. Many different shops, just whatever pops up at a good price.

Beautiful - have been cleaning out my fabric --- getting it organized and not just thrown in bags!! Almost done - boy do I have a LOT of fabric -- do you have any ideas for feed sacks? I seem to have accumulated quite a few of these!

Sounds like fun. I love digging through my fabrics and finding those long forgotten lovely prints. Feed sacks! Now there's a challenge. I'll put some thought into a pattern. Thanks for the idea.
