Thats really cool but personally I would like to see a few decals though like symbols or lettering
@force2recwith
@force2recwith 3 года назад
I agree, i think it would have made it so much more better. I started to put number decals via paint, and it just didn’t work out the way I wanted so I scrapped it. In the future I’ll definitely try using some kind of decals or something else to make the project that much more realistic.

@@force2recwith great job with the model, I've actually had decent luck using a letter stencil to put my lettering on a piece of masking tape, then transfer the tape to the model and carefully cut the letters in place then proceed with painting.

Super glue and sprinkle baking soda helps set the super glue faster. It's basically cement.

It's pretty amazing how bits and pieces of junk stuck together look exactly like that and then when its all unified with the grey primer how it transforms immediately into a sci fi spacecraft! Not too dissimilar from how the pro's do it in the movies!! Nice job.

Often.... less, is more. Nice idea, but when building a spacecraft using bits, it is a good idea to have an idea what each bit is for, otherwise it just looks like your ship has flown too close to an interstellar junk yard, and gravity has attracted stuff to its hull.

Honestly my process for the most part has been find something that looks like it might go with something else, glue it, and repeat. I have found other techniques like reshaping greebles from other creators that I’m utilizing on current builds. Always open to learning new techniques, and listening to advice from others.

There are always better options. I usually use whatever I have around. Hot glue is not my favorite to use currently, but it won’t stop me from using it.

@@force2recwith I understand that but I hate the stuff if it is visible or on a load bearing joint.
@force2recwith
@force2recwith 2 года назад
@@MrPorkmann I agree it can be a pain. I use it less and less now then I did. The big thing for me when using hot glue it sometimes can easier to fix a gluing mistake with hot glue than other permanent glues. But I will say this, for my other projects I don’t use hot glue as much if ever anymore.
@MrPorkmann
@MrPorkmann 2 года назад
@@force2recwith I apologise. I am not having the best day and the sight of that stuff got me going! I see it and being used to build terrain for wargames and can never understand why. Likewise the use of superglue to assemble styrene models gets my goat!
