This is what happens in the movie! The movie begins with Ghostface attacking Tara (Jenna Ortega) and leaves her for dead, but she actually survives. Tara's sister Sam (Melissa Berrara) returns to Woodsboro with her boyfriend Richie (Jack Quaid) to care for her. Dewey has tired as sheriff and has been replaced by Judy Hicks. He is close to Judy's son Wes who is also friends with Tara. The Ghostface killer shows up and lures Judy into a trap in broad daylight while she's driving and she's dead. Dewey teaches Wes the rules of survival and decides to call up Gale and Sidney to help him deal with the new killer. Sidney is married living in Chicago, while Gale is living in Los Angeles after separating from Dewey. Ghostface targets Tara at the hospital. Dewey goes to her rescue, but ends up killed. YES, ONE OF THE MAIN TRIO FINALLY DIES. SHOCKING. People did say he was the most likely candidate. Anyway, this enrages Sidney and Gale who vow for revenge. The women, along with Sam, investigate Tara's friends which includes Wes, Tara's friend Amber, Randy Meeks' niece, Chad (Omar Gooding), Chad's girlfriend Liv (Sonia Ben Ammar) and Mindy (Jasmine Savoy-Brown). There's also a dude named Vince (Kyle Gallner) who stalks Liv. They learn that the new Ghostface killer is doing a "Requel", following up on the original killings and all have connections to past victims including Sam who is the secret illegitimate daughter of Billy Loomis! OH WOW! We then come to Stu's house where Liv and her family now live. The killers turn out to be Richie and Amber, secretly in love and wanting to bring the killings to a new generation. Amber is the mastermind though. They plan to frame Sam for the killings. Sidney and Gale have suspected Sam for a while, but realized it was Amber and Richie. The duo kills Wes, Chad, Liv, and Vince. Sam kills Richie, and Sidney kills Amber. Sidney, Gale, Sam, Tara, and Mindy survive to see another day. THE END. No Stu returning, no KIRBY. Kirby is dead people so stop craving her to return. She was stabbed in the gut deep and left to bleed out for a while before help arrived. Jill also tells Dewey she's dead while in hospital and he doesn't correct her, only when she stated Sidney was probably dead too. KIRBY IS DEAD.

Also, fun fact: Rose FIT THROUGH CAT DOOR. They needed to pin her with a nail to those doors, to make sure, she will not FALL OUT, actually. Which shows, her idea was GOOD. She was just, sadly, not planned for a sequel. Which, again. STU QUOTES HER LAST WORDS TO KILLER. And people still believes BILLY did it. Like, any logic clue points on Stu, but fandom by wanting giving Billy more kills, give this one to him against ANY logic. 😂

KEVIN! PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT & PLEASE MAKE SCREAM 3 A OPTION FOR A BAD MOVIE ROAST 43:10 currently rewatching this review & I'm so glad Chris brings this up about Scream 3 because I really think that film not only deserves a BAD MOVIE ROAST but NEEDS one. That film is so damn goofy & satirical, it might as well be labeled 'The REAL Scary Movie 3' 😂😂 That shit is BAD, but the story about the film's production is so interesting to hear & read about. From: 1. The original script being scrapped (due to the Columbine Massacre), leading to a new Screenwriter being hired by the Weinsteins (which is A BIG REASON this film needs to be discussed, considering there's a odd & coincidental subplot reveal with a character who's a Movie Producer....) 2. The new Screenwriter was not only unfamiliar with the first two screams, but was only given 6 weeks to write the script, leading to constant re-writes during filming (which only lasted 12 weeks)... & because the new screenwriter had no knowledge of the previous 2 films (& completely discarded Kevin Williamson's outline) the characters of Sidney, Gale & Dewey (& they're personalities) in HIS script had barely any resemblance to the prior appearances of the characters (leading to even more re-writes, this time by Wes Craven himself) & That's just the surface. There's SOOOO MUCH ROAST MATERIAL

It's funny you say that Stuart & Billy had gay undertones because in the spoof Scary Movie the killers were gay....or at least once them was gay

a good movie that was drawn out into a long in the tooth franchise . . . it's like death is just stalking her through surrogates. Maybe Jamie Lee Curtis can come after her, if the studio can find the cash.

Ironically, as inane as it seems, Rose McGowan was actually able to slip through the cat door before crew had to step in and make her shirt stick to the door. So trying to escape via cat door isn’t actually as ridiculous as it seems as long as you’re Rose McGowan lol

Making ghostface kind of a clumsy killer was brilliant because its ultimately just a person not some undead/unkillable character that keeps coming back. Suburbanites are way scarier 😱 Dewey forever!

BUT SHE DID FIT! Rose McGowan had to fake being stuck because she made it through!

Scream was awesome at the time but after rewatching it Ghostface is so damn clumsy in the movie all tripping and falling over himself it looks like a cartoon

I think, not many people acknowledge, that Billy and Stu got DATA SET for 'final act'. It was not even, that he was so HORNY. He just needed Sid off V status, so she COULD DIE *in their MOVIE* - Stu even underline it. 😝 Billy want to kill her. But she is virgin. So, to BE SURE SHE DIE, fallowing 'everything is movie' logic, they makes her have sex, so she died, just like in horror. 😂

I did enjoy this movie and I love Gale Weathers played by Courteney Cox she did a great job and she is so beautiful in this movie and I’m a fan of her character too and also I like Sidney Prescott played by Neve Campbell she did a great job too and I love her character too and I think she is so sexy as hell and gorgeous too and I’m a fan of her too as well and Matthew Lizard as Stu Macher he did a great job too and I like him as a actor and also Billy Loomis played by Sketch Ulrich he did a great job too and I like him as a actor too and him and Stu are both great as the killer ghostface and I like that twisted at the end of the movie who is revived to be the killer all along and it was Billy Loomis and Stu Macher and Drew Barrymore as Casey Becker as a small cameo she was great too and I think she is so beautiful and gorgeous too and I like her as a actress as well and I was 1 years old when this movie came out back in 1996 and overall I’m gonna give Scream 1996 a 7/10 stars not a bad movie at all but it could of been little bit better movie but that just me though in my opinions on this movie and I have the costume of this too

All these years I thought Wes killed Drew in the beginning as an homage to Psycho. I had NO idea that was actually Drew’s idea! Wow, that’s brilliant foresight on her part.
