The scariest thing about Mickey is that there doesnt seem to be any malice in him towards Sidney and the others. He doesn't claim any personal vendetta against any of them, nor targets them in any special way like Stu did Casey and Steve. Mickey might even genuinely like them. But it doesnt matter because he likes killing more.
he’s the whole reason Sidney went into hiding in Scream 3, cause Wes craven stated that sidney was scared that some like like Mickey who had no history or anger against her could pop up again
Like Stu. He seemed to even like Randy, but might have killed him if Billy wanted. Mickey is scary though. The fact he gets along so well with the group and is friendly but may have been a killer before the events of the movie is unsettling. Most of the other killers could have maybe been better if life turned out a bit different but Mickey might have always been destined to kill.
@@NobleBossStu had hatred towards them apparently, i've read in an article that his entire motive was misogyny. Randy has no particular motive except thrill-killing.
He gave himself away when Derik was in hospital when he said go Sidney" Why would he even go back in thay house" howd he know that happen if he wasnt there? Plus there was him with his camcorder at yhe college when the police held that press conference.
2:41 can we just take a moment to appreciate Mickey right here? His face after Cotton tries to talk to Sidney is literally perfect because Cotton was framed for being a murder and Mickey who is a real murder just looks so amused at the sight of this fake Serial Killer.
Agreed I love the subtle details Timothy Olyphant puts in his performance and the implication he just enjoys messing with people’s heads and targets Sidney in particular with her trust issues, playing mind games with her like a predator playing with his food.
Mickey is my favorite killer out of the franchise. I just love how unhinged he is in Timothy Olyphant brings so much charm and charisma to the character.
Mickey is really growing on me these years, a crazily underrated Ghostface (who won't be underrated if people appreciate him more though, hopefully this will change), as the plot later reveals he already is an active serial killer. All other Ghostfaces wore the costume to be a killer but Mickey is a born killer who happened to wear the costume. The film also subtly shows how much he enjoys manipulating others and likes the thrill of killing and playing mind games with Sidney, giving her trust issues, and this could mean he has done this before to his previous victims, and Sidney could have been one of them - and the fact he is a serial killer who can blend into the society (even though acting a bit off) this makes him extremely creepy and frightening. He is like Billy Loomis and Stu Macher but more matured.
@@londonwatson3158Mickey survived so many things including a car accident which could have given him a concussion and he was shot 3 time by ms. Loomis in the chest without a bulletproof vest and then still got back up and got shot a whole bunch more time when he got back up and tried to kill them. Roman had a bullet proof vest the whole time. And Mickey killed more people than Roman. Mickey wins bro but that’s my opinion
@@erickserrano3635 This comment was literally 3 months ago lol. Because I changed my mind about like 1 month ago. Because yes, Mickey Altieri beat's Roman Bridger.
'A deranged version of Randy' that's an interesting take cause many compare Mickey to Stu. I think Mickey is a very unique beast he is already a serial killer before this and I always see him blaming the movies as him finding excuses for killing people and get famous, either way, easily one of the scariest Ghostfaces ever.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ Stu was a complete Dumbass, and the best excuse he could come up with for murdering innocent teenagers is “Peer Pressure, I’m too sensitive” Mickey on the other hand was very intelligent, not the smartest Ghostface but definitely intelligent, especially considering the fact he completely obliterated Randy in the Sequel Debate, and Randy is a Huge Movie Nerd He’s even the same Myers Briggs, Personality Type as Randy (ENTP) Main difference is he was more Athletic and far more Charismatic with People than Randy was, oh and batshit cray cray
@@Shade571Stu's motive could be actually misogyny, but you're right, i don't think that he and Stu are so similar. Sure, Mickey is psychotic and unhinged, but he's actually tactical and an experienced killer, plus he has better control and he's charismatic, unlike Stu.
@@alex18xd59Roman is because majority of the scream fandom craps on the movie, and for Mickey people say that he barely had screen time to be a good enough ghostface but that’s blatantly wrong
Well Hollywood has always been known to cast 90% of the time, attractive actors and actresses. I will note though, the Scream movies definitely cast more regular looking people which is always nice
07:43 'The effects of cinema violence on society' I love how Mickey says it like a University dissertation makes sense for the college setting for the film as well LMAO
Realistically any lawyer would have told Mickey he’d be lucky to get 20 years in prison. But still a fairly underrated Ghostface considering he did the large majority of the murders and even convinced Sidney that Derek was Ghostface right after he unmasked himself.
he would be lucky to get life in prison with no parol instead of lethal injection or the electric chair cause he’s killed 10+ people(3 or more before Scream 2)
Put him in a room with any psychologist and the insanity plea would be a breeze. But I don’t think Mickey was trying to get off, he was just trying to have the most media attention grabbing trial in history. I doubt he even cared if he got executed
@@MatteoBiondilloScream 2 is set in Ohio. I think the consequences would have been grave, given it's a red state *and* he murdered 2 cops just doing their jobs. He didn't think that through lol.
He's still my favorite Ghostface after all these years. Just something unnerving about a complete psycho whos only motivation is to kill but seem in the realm of possibility.
I love how Randy and Mickey suspect each other, but not to each other's faces. Since this was my first horror/slasher, Scream 2 will always be my favorite.
Best Ghostface anyone? He was organized, brutal, and to quote Billy Loomis “it’s a lot scarier when there’s no motive”. He wanted to blame the movies for the attention. His only mistake was underestimating Nancy Loomis’ drive for revenge.
True, Loomis betraying him really broke Mickey. Mickey realized that he'll never achieve his goals and he was just a loose end that Loomis was trying to tie up. Mickey was more hurt about Loomis's betrayal then getting shot.
Mickey is the craziest out of all the Ghostface(I mean they’re all psychopaths) but he had no motive and wanted to get caught just killed for the thrill! One of my favorite Ghostface behind Billy and Stu.
@parissgdebriefs3866 well, technically mickeys motive was infamy, he wanted to be caught as the murderer and go down in history as one of the best serial killers, which he technically succeeded at, I'm assuming, he just didn't live to see it. While jill wanted FAME, she wanted to be seen as the victim, the sole survivor, the new final girl of the franchise.
@K First: Billy doesn't shine for his intelligence, Stu and him died for that. Second: Jill was smart, but she got very fails in her plan, like trying to kill Sidney after killing Charlie, and Roman was smarter than her. Third: Mickey Altieri was betrayed by Mr. Loomis, but that doesn't mean that Mickey is a fool because that was an error of Nancy.
@@Darealgoofytho The original mastermind is Roman, and Mickey is in their level, I think that Roman and Mickey are the number one, Billy and Jill the number two and Wayne and Nancy the number three.
@@DanielVoorheesCosasSobreElCine Billy in realtà non fa errori come quello di Mickey. Stava per sparare a Gale, ma viene distratto dalla fuga di Sid, di cui tra l'altro doveva occuparsi Stu
in my opinion he is the best male ghostface in addition to being one of my favorites, he clearly goes head to head with the others because of his experience, strength, power, endurance in addition to having enormous potential and being dangerous and reaches a top 6 best ghostface easily but it's that saying either you love him or you hate him and underestimate him because mickey is a very complex character and you have to know everything about him.
@@PHANTOM_EDITS-agree, mickey and roman are the best male ghostfaces but i still prefer mickey i think he's more fuck and charismatic, roman i think he's forcing.
@@PHANTOM_EDITS-I can say I agree with Mickey vs the other Ghostfaces, however Kieran was great at hiding everything and turning the blame to Emma and Audrey at the same time. I think Kieran might be the smartest killer in the entirety of scream as a whole. Strongest idk but smartest has got to be a category
@@fastmattofanarchy571 ye that’s true and I’ve changed my mind a bit , Kieran is on par with Mickey and Roman in terms of strength and combat , and your right Kieran is a bloody genius and like you said, arguably the smartest killer in the franchise’ history
@@PHANTOM_EDITS- I hope it wasn't sarcasm and if it ain't much respect dude. Mickey is my favorite Ghostface Kieran is my favorite killer in the TV series. But how well this dude was able to hide it and keep himself off of the suspect list in front of the cops and hack the unhackable Noah was priceless. Much respect nonetheless
What no one realizes and what I find very smart about the details of this movie - is that when the officers get killed in the car, Kacey is yelling out loud for her “baby” when stomping at the door to escape. not realizing that Mickey was in the car driving her and sid around the streets like a maniac. excellent writing and very dope little detail I bet no one picks up on. It also certifies that Mickie was so good at blending in to Sid’s circle to the point of dating her closest homegirl at college. Crazy.
Yeah the fact that Mickey is already an active killer before scream 2 makes him far more terrifying than billy, Jill, Richie , amber and Wayne Bailey He’s my fav ghost face right after Roman and Stu
Mickey's downfall was that he trusted Ms. Loomis. He didn't think she will betray him. After that betrayal and his goal of being famous and his trial are long gone, he snapped only to be killed by Sidney and Gale. He was deeply hurt by Ms. Loomis's betrayal.
It's ironic that his signature/MO is what got him killed in the end. Mickey literally lived for his killing activities except it wasnt complete unless he became famous for his crimes and was able to completely become a part of his victims' lives first.
@@B.B.H2.0 wanting to be famous for his killings was stupid and you're right that it is also what kills him at the end. You know when Billy's mom shot him, he could have played dead and got arrested and achieved his goal, but was betrayed by Ms. Loomis that caused him to go berserk and get killed at the end.
@AH-is5yg For someone who was supposed to be smart enough to fool Sydney and the cops. That sure was a super dumb move. Clearly, he wasn't 10 steps ahead like he wanted everyone to believe.
@@B.B.H2.0 All it took was getting overconfident, betrayal and having your dreams shattered will do that. His big mistake was trusting Ms. Loomis. He was remembered only as a copycat not being original.
Tbf, he might be an older student as well. Mrs. Loomis paid for him to enter college and he was apparently already an established serial killer when she found him.
Same, I feel like an idiot for not immediately knowing after all of the footage plays for Dewey and Gale that Mickey was almost never without his camcorder
This has to be one of the few bits for an actor like Timopthy Oflplane to be almost like the best at givin an insane performance for a real life sequel 🎭
Mickey needed one more scene in that 45 minute gap for him to cement himself imo he had potential but going missing for that long made the reveal fall flat
I actually prefer the rewritten script with Mickey as the killer. Him sacrificing himself to save Sidney for a few minutes and the killers being Derek - the boyfriend again, and Hallie - the best friend, is nowhere near as tragic as Derek genuinely loving Sidney and getting shot by Mickey.
I think after the first one being the BF it be too much for GF to be Sidney BF again, I think actually good show the difference in how Derek is to Billy, he shows his love and even understand when Sidney pushes him away and suspects him, unlike Billy he was always protesting his innocence and and guilting her about her not trusting him telling her to get over her mum death and pressuring her to sleep with him, even notice people seem to love Derek because his nice and cool, while Billy it all about being a stud etc but tatum, randy seem not trust him.
Moral Of The Story: never trust your hot friends/ relatives incase they might be the killer For example Billy, Stu, Mickey, Jill, Charlie, Amber, Ethan, Quinn
do you think Mickey took advantage of going to school with Sidney to start everything up, or do you think he sought out the school Sidney went to in order to start everything up?
yeah there's the line where he said he needed a financial backer because tuition's expensive. Meaning Mrs. Loomis payed for Mickey's enrollment into Sidney's college.
Mickey had the potential to become a consistent Ghostface -- surviving for at least ONE more movie -- imagine if he had simply shot Billy's mother after her speech because....well, he's a lunatic.

Where was it stated that he was a boxer? Ive checked the scream wiki and there arent any statements backing that up. Ive also pretty much seen the movie 2x and there arent any statements in there either.

Credits to mickey for being the only killer not saying Sidney/ Sam was the real villain unlike Billy, Nancy, Roman, Amber, Richie, Wayne, Quinn and Ethan ( ik stu, charlie, Jill also didnt but here this is abt mickey )
