Also, when this came out it was a massive deal because they did the impossible, the sequel was just as good as the original. Its also a who's who of the biggest teen stars of the 90s, every young celebrity wanted to be in Scream 2 after the first was such a cultural phenomenon.
And the thing is they didn't just randomly throw celebrities around in here. They were so accurately casted!!! You really get magic when you have great casting and good chemistry
Wes was considered by many who loved horror cinema to be the Master of Horror. He laid the foundation with The Last House On The Left in the 70s, A Nightmare On Elm Street in the 80s, and revitalize the dying genre with Scream in the 90s. And if you ever listen to him speak he's just the most soft spoken, delicate, highly intelligent person ever. He understood the nature of fear.
Cotton had every right to act that way, I mean Sydney wrongfully accused him and he spent a year a jail because of her and in the end he helped saved her, cotton deserves better
Well in fairness Billy did a good job with framing him. Billy even had the same type of haircut as Cotton in Scream. Sidney only seen the person from the back wearing Cottons coat.
The Cassandra scene is so chilling. I personally don't think the killer was there, the scene was super triggering for her, but either possibility is disturbing.
The killer *was* there. You can see his legs/feet run off while others are crowding around her. And also why they purposely had her asking Derek "Where's Mickey?"
@@lumariadp I mean, at that point in the film, she’s asking about Mickey because any change to a plan is suspicious to her. The screenwriter wasn’t giving up the game *that* quickly. As for the stage scene, it’s purposely left ambiguous. If you think he was there, great. I don’t think he was. As we saw in Scream 3, Sid having hallucinations and waking nightmares isn’t entirely unfounded.
Stylistically and substantially the best in the series. The first was the first, and introduce meta commentary on the state of and structure of slashers within the horror genre. Scream 2 contextualizes much more about our culture and society as it relates not just to film and horror, but also to trauma and capitalism. It contextualizes race as well within the confines of everything I just mentioned as well. Things the original didn’t do. While the original film is a Solid rough draft that introduced new ideas, I think Scream 2 executed and polished the final copy, and expanded what the original dared to do, by showing what was possible. Much of the series’ high points and memorable contributions came from Scream 2. That’s not a coincidence.
I agree. You are spot on. Scream 2 is my favorite. Thought it was scarier and better shot than the first one. Scream 2 has the best chase scenes… more suspenseful
@@dynamicdave2647 Not only That, it’s the longest of all 5 films, letting its central characters and background characters breathe, and is the only one of the five, who’s last act doesn’t end at a party.
I agree with this word for word. Scream 2 is amazing and is the best in the series to me. It’s the one I watched the most because of The Who’s who and growing up around that time and seeing all of those 90’s stars is really special. Beyond that, it’s just a well done movie overall and really is Sidney’s best showing and ups the ante in spots that the original lacked.
I like the longer reaction video like you do, also your reaction was really entertaining to watch. It makes me laugh how the movie tricks people so much they can even believe Dewey is a killer! :D Do not think too much about how they could recreate the scenes from the real life events in the Stab movie, this is pure movie magic/fan service. I'm really happy you enjoyed the sequel so much! Part 3 was supposed to be the end of the trilogy and it was the case for 10 years and part 4 is a take on the remake craze. I hope you'd enjoy them as well. (btw, you two are such a cute couple!)
Jada actually did a great job with her dead drop and the tone of the music solidified it! Just some A listers doing some cameos. Just a thought, y'all should react to Kevin bacon's Stir of Echoes.
Once y’all are done reacting to Scream 3 & 4, are y’all going to react to the Scream (2022) trailer? The newest installment has a darker and scarier tone to it. It’s amazing.
The sorority girl with the "windshield wiper eyebrows" is Portia De Rossi, who would find success on "Ally McBeal" & then when she become Ellen's wife. My dude, Debbie Salt was played by Laurie Metcalf, who was Aunt Jackie on "Roseanne"
I’m a huge Wes craven fan! May he Rest In Peace! He made a lot of amazing films! I suggest these films 1. Red Eye: a great thriller stay away from the trailer! It’s spoils the whole film. 2. The people under the stairs: a great horror film with comedic elements. 3. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare: a horror movie that is about horror movies. It has the actors from the film play themselves and made Freddy scary again! I just found you guys and you’re great reactors!
you know, when this came out, the movie theater room was exactly like that: filled with people dressed like ghost face. Believe me, when the movie started and the theater murder scene came, everybody took the masks off and looked around like "is it gonna happen here too?". Crazy night
The only ones that got gutted were Steve, Casey, and presumably Principal Himbry. Kenny got his throat slashed. That's totally different from being gutted.
Jump scares are great when done correctly. It shouldn't be used as a cop out though. But I know a horror movie is good if it makes me sleep with my lights on. Usually spirit/demon movies do that to me.
Lol i just watched your reaction to Scream and my last comment was watch Scream 2 and Urban Legend. Okay, this is one of them😋. I actually originally watched this on the same day as the first one in the year 2000, i bought both together. For years i wasn't a big fan of this, it's only recently I've really started to love it.
cotton randy dewey were all the heart...losing them all annoys me...can't watch 6 without them...I don't care about gale or sid...I liked judy but she's gone too
Imagine being that girl talking to cici before all that happened and she mentioning she's nor alone and all that and then later you find out she got killed after you talked to her
I'll be honest the first time i watched this i thought the killers were those 2 creepy sorority girls. It wasn't a crazy guess, i recently discovered a number of possible endings were written for this, and one of them had them as the killers.
Based on a certain comment you made lol ima need you two to watch, My Bestfriend Is A Vampire, The Omen and The Waxwork. Great movies. This is just a few of alot more but yea
Fun fact: Drew barrymore was suppose to be the main character in the first Scream but she asked Wes Craven to kill her in the opening scene because it would add better shock factor that anyone can die in this franchise at anytime.
So the lady that played as Billy Loomis mother was Jackie the sister from Roseanne and if you saw the Big Bang Theory she played at Sheldon mom... Plus that was Ellen DeGeneres's wife actress Portia with the big funny eyebrows!!!
Don't know if you guys realize it or not but Ms Loomis was gonna originally kill Gail in the news van but ended up killing randy because he was bad mouthing billy, her son. Which is another hint that she was the one who killed him and not mickey
Scream 2 Original had 3 killers The killers were Derek (Jerry O'Connell), Hallie, and Debbie Salt (Mrs. Loomis). Loomis ends up shooting Derek and Hallie, but then gets stabbed by Cotton (Liev Schreiber) before she can shoot Sidney and Gale.
He dismisses Mickey's saying about star wars saying its not sequel but part of trilogy but the others they talked about in class they're part of trilogies too lol.
By the way, “Eyebrows” is Portia De Rossi, an ex model/actress and most widely known as Ellen Degeneres’ Ex-wife. Also, you probably know Laurie Metcalf (Mrs. Loomis) from Roseanne, and The Big Bang Theory.
Dude Ellen and Porsche are still married. Not her ex wife still her wife. Lol look it up if you don’t believe me. Don’t know why you think they’re divorced.
@@sweetkiss119 If you look up “Ellen and Portia Divorce,” you’ll see that they at one point supposedly had a recent falling out, and Portia left Ellen, and at the time, filing for divorce was under consideration. It had been awhile since this happened but I didn’t realize they had reconciled. So if they are still together and a split is no longer imminent, good for them. I hadn’t updated my information as of late and so I didn’t realize anything had changed. Spreading misinformation among the public isn’t something I usually do. So, my mistake if I got this one wrong, having misunderstood the developments of the situation.
I've had this theory for as long as I can remember regarding to the car scene. I believe Mickey was knocked out originally but when Sid hit the horn I think it woke him up but pretended to still be knocked out. So that way the girls mostly Sidney were out of the car since he wasn't allowed to actually kill her and for her to be lure to the theater building for Ms. Loomis. Because he got out WAY to quickly after they did and then did like a syke trick making them think they are safe just to turn around and Kill Hallie to mess with Sid mentally and emotionally even more.
Its funny on first one they make thing about asking why billy had a cellular phone. He said everyone got one bit you don't see it. This one year later everyone literally has one lol. Everyone a suspect lol.
Some fun facts for you. 1. During CiCi (Sarah Michelle Gellar) scene there's quite a few references. She was talking to Selma Blair on the phone before she talked to ghostface. They co-stared in Cruel Intentions together and when they were talking on the phone they were talking about Bailey on Party of Five which was the tv series that Neve Campbell was doing during all of the three Screams. Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt was also in Party of Five as Baileys girlfriend thats who they were talking about regarding to a break up. Which she also co-star in IKWYDLS. She also turned on a vampire movie as a reference to her Buffy. Sarah Michelle Gellar was very busy in 97 she was doing this, I know what you did last summer and 2nd season of Buffy 2. When Randy mentioned about Gales nude pictures and how her head was on Jennifer Aniston body it was a funny towards Friends aswell with David Schwimmer playing Dewey in Stab especially since he plays Ross as Monica's brother. They also did a funny one liner in Scream 3 when Gale told Jennifer sorry about Brad Pitt and that's a pretty good fall back. That was towards Jennifer Aniston aswell lol. 3. Billy's mother Ms. Loomis is Laurie Metcalf she played on Roseanne as Jackie. 4. Originally it was supposed to be Derek and Hallie as the killers and Mikey as tge supportive friend but it got leaked so they changed it to Ms. Loomis and Mikey as the killers.
Yeah six degrees of Kevin bacon supposedly everyone is connected to him I guess. You'd think you could do that with others too not just him lol. Yayyyyy another whodunit love them lol. Who's doing it now lol
Funny thing, I get so triggered by alot of entertainment pre covid. movies, interviews, TV shows....like we legit was ALL UP in each other face. It makes me ich!!!!
I just assume Gale knew some of the private conversations because of police reports and everyone’s testimony after the first Scream. With Billy and Stu dead, it would’ve fallen to the survivors to fill in the blanks.
@@sweetkiss119 I had never watched it either until a few years ago, my oldest sister really liked it so I checked it out and it's actually a really good and funny show. I highly recommend it.
The death of the cop with the pole through his head was a happy accident as it were the stunt team intended it to go through the shoulder but when it was done the dummy or whatever it was they used got the pole through the head and Wes loved it so much they decided to keep it that way. This one was really good but I still like the original better. The fact that the reporter was Billy's mother was a shock to me I didn't see that coming plus I love that actress from the show Rosanne so it was interesting to see her here. Good reaction and yes for a time I suspected Derek too cause of it being the boyfriend in the first one.
Duane Martin who played Joel, the new camera man said in an interview that Joel left because Wes Craven approached Duane and asked if he was really in the same position as Joel what would he do. Duane said I'd get a taxi and gtfo
If it is okay, I would like to make a Movie Reaction Video Request below. If you haven't already seen it yet then is there any chance you can do a Reaction Video to the Movie "John Carpenter's THE THING" ? If Yes then it is an R-rated Science Fiction Horror Movie that came out back in 1982 and it stars Kurt Russell.
You guys just have to see the new Scream that’s coming out this Friday in theaters! please buy a ticket and experience a scream movie on the big screen! Also don’t worry about not seeing 3-4 because the directors made it so new fans could just watch this new one and not be confused:)
So for in this movie it's a pretty easy of a break down on which killer did what. Ms. Loomis was only interested in Gale obviously since she was constantly on her heals lol and Sidney. Gale because she literally wrote a book about her son and how she helped Sidney to kill her beloved angel of a son lol. Sidney for also obvious reason cause she did kill her son and her mom was what broke her family. Dewey was a collateral he was someone that Gale really cared for like how Billy was someone she cared for. Randy was never the target he didn't play any critical role in her son's death it was meant for Gale hense the statement "why are you even here Randy". But he answered her phone and talked bad about her son so she got knife happy. Mickey was the actual copy cat killer Phil Steven's, Maureen, CiCi, obviously Hallie and Derek. He was only allowed to torment Sidney which he did mentally but she was to be left for Ms. Loomis to act on her revenge.
