I've heard this bird in every rainforest documentary as well and never knew what made the call, never gave much thought as to what it was. Lol now I know
@@KatyaKnightwolf you're all right! It's probably the most characteristic sound of the rainforest. I've watched one documentary when they showed this bird. It was a documentary about the singing birds and the loudest birds of the world.
schreaming piha's sound is soothing enough that I can sleep with it. White bellbird on the other hand... It's still cool sound though, just not for sleeping. For alarm maybe?
Just got back from a two week trip in the Neotropics, these birds were my alarm clock every morning around 5-6...hearing them makes me want to go back and experience it all again :")
Nice, what country did you travel to? I live in Brazil, Amazon region, there's a lot of these birds around here. It's a must to hear them when one go into a forest. Love their whistle, so beautiful.
In the amazon jungle of Surinam they call this bird "Busi Skowto", which means "Bush Police" because of it's siren type call. It's a sound you can hear whenever you go into the jungle interior. It's a magical and majestic bird call.
El canto de esta ave recuendo haberlo escuchado en algun video juego, y x alguna razon su canto me quedo grabado. Al escucharlo me hace sentir que estoy en plena selva amazonica. Es hermoso ese cantar. Impresionante ser.
Thee most common bird call used in movies made in and around any or all jungle movies!! I love this bird call, and dig all birds, don't cage any animal ever!!!!
muito, MUITO simbólico! mds, quando morava em manaus e viajava para o interior eu ouvia esse canto direto, sempre que penso na floresta eu automaticamente já associo esse som, é como uma sinfonia suave e poderosa!
I live in Pittsburgh wear we have the National Aviary! When you walk into the open free flight room Rain Forest. You hear these Guys popping off! Love how loud they are.
This is the bird that Blizzard Entertainment used for the ambience in the zone Zangarmarsh! I always thought that sound was digitally produced, but never thought it was a real bird!
There is another bird I am searching for. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before be I’ve heard it many times randomly in movies where the setting is a jungle. It’s a bird that calls in a similar pitch to the piha but it’s starts slow and increases in speed. Think of it like this: Doo do do do-do-do-do-d-d-d-d Like I said it’s kinda slow at first then goes fast and sounds like a high pitch whistle
Do you only know the song? His description remember me Buff-throated Woodcreeper ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5rjhjiPGzqQ.html ) Can be it?
Huh. Sounds exactly like the whistle old cartoon characters would make, when they saw a pretty lady. That can't be a coincidence right? I mean, It was until recently considered the loudest bird call after all. 🤔
