The ‪@Audioholics‬ Smarthome theater room is our test bed for testing out the very best audio and video equipment the industry has to offer. We set up a 150" ‪@screeninnovations‬ Zero Edge Pro Acoustically Transparent screen with our reference ‪@rbhsound‬ SI-831R in-wall center channel to compliment our ‪@rbhsound‬ SVTRS Active speaker system. We discuss the build quality of the SI screen, and the cool LED backlight kit with Phillips Hue Bridge connection. We talk about the different screen material types and their associated pros and cons. The sonic advantages of using an acoustically transparent screen for more optimal center channel or LCR speaker placement is something you should strongly consider. We talk about another acoustical advantage that AT screens offer to help improve your room acoustics. If you're wondering what type of screen to get for your home theater projection system, this is definitely a must watch video. We also show you some slick installation options using ‪@screeninnovations‬ products with our friends from Haven Smart.
Correction: ALR - Ambient Light Rejection not Reflection
AT Unity White Screen Gain = 1.3

I went with a custom 119" 2.37:1 Seymour Enlightor Neo AT and there is no moire and much less db loss. I love it and pairs well with my JVC X790R (for now). Acoustic Transparent is the way to go for that true movie theater experience. Love the backlighting led on this Screen Innovation set up!

Agree screens are very important. I paid almost as much for my 96" acoustically transparent screen as I did for my JVC projector...and glad I did. That moire pattern would be a dealbreaker for me.

Screens are so much more important than people think. So many of my friends have just used "screen paint" on the wall and it wont cut it. I do not have a crazy amazing screen like these just a Silver Ticket brand but even that is great.

Acoustic transparent for the win, but gosh thats a lot of impact on the audio when using this perf screen, and a lot of visual impact from moire. Even the woven ones from Silver Ticket are a lot more acoustically transparent, and suffer from fewer blemishes. Any plan to test those?

Don't forget about they're masking systems when I move into my new house I plan to get a awol 3500 pro ust with cabinet and have screen innovations built me a 150 inch 16:9 screen with top and bottom masking I also will use they're tool to choose the correct screen fabric for my room and setup

You need a JVC laser unit in that room. I suggest a NZ9/4100 with that screen size. The NZ8/3100 would probably work in there too.

To me it feeels a little uneasy when you look forward when don's explaining ;) , if you share my feeling ,maybe try a seating presentation ... try a little more casual, ofc feel free to ignore me, its all good ;) tnx for your work!

Seated is the absolute worst and least comfortable way of presenting info, but thanks for your suggestion.

I have a 120 inch cinegrey 3d al, at perforated from elite and i see the holes from 14 feet, do you have that projection?

Stewart microperf here. Vastly superior picture quality with perf that disappears at 12 feet.

Hi Gene, how far from the 150 inch screen are you sitting? I have the same size and 16.9 and at 9ft. Keen to hear your thoughts.

Wild that an audio-focused channel would promote a screen that kills audio performance. I spent too much on my audio system to put a perf screen in front of it. If I put micro-perf holes in a piece of Saran Wrap, would you let me wrap your head in it?
@Audioholics
@Audioholics Год назад
Very ill informed comment. Only the center channel is behind the screen which is much better than putting a horizontal one under it. Also behind the screen is acoustically treated which greatly improves stereo imaging. Just because you can comment, doesn't always mean you should.
@thrillcat
@thrillcat Год назад
@@Audioholics I fully understand the benefits of acoustically transparent screens, I have one myself. But the impact of perf materials is much more drastic than a weave material. Woven screens are the acoustic best case scenario for a screen.
@Audioholics
@Audioholics Год назад
@@thrillcat that is true and even fabric are a compromise. I just switched to the very best fabric and will be doing a follow-up video.

@Chris Seymour yep the SI screen is gone and I've got Severtsons 4k which is much improved. Regardless, all screens still cause measurable comb filtering. I have a hard time believing only 1.5db loss at 29khz for any screen, especially if you add a black scrim layer.
@Audioholics
@Audioholics Год назад
@Chris Seymour 29khz? I think the Severtson fabric is about the best in the industry from my research. There no magic fabric that will have less loss without being visually transparent. Matthew Poes will soon have your screen to measure before and after. A screen is still a compromise in Audio performance regardless. The trade off is worth it for the center channel placement however. I still prefer having my mains out in the room for a variety of reasons, mostly bc its still the best way for 2ch music listening.
