Love this channel. I have one minor suggestion for this video - From a car detailing perspective, always clean top down and do the wheels last with a separate rag. For black paint especially, picking up grime from the bottom and the wheels of the car and bringing that to the rest of the paint is going to create some nasty swirls.. Speaking from experience :(
Here here I agree and always clean the wheels last now your taking all the brake grime and road dirt which is on alloys and scratching the paint with brake dust etc
I just spent half an hour of my limited spare time watching a man i have never met wash a 40 year old car. The internet is truly an amazing invention. Cant wait until the FLAG semi is fully restaurated and i can watch a 10 hour video of you hand washing that glorious black and gold behemoth.
"Although my molecular bonded shell doesn't require cleaning, nonetheless the look and sensation of a freshly washed surface is, to put it in human terms, quite refreshing." -KITT, probably.
At 16:30 when you asked if we liked virtually washing the car with you, it sounded like something Mr. Rogers would say. After that I couldn't get it out of my head how much you talking about stuff was similar to Mr. Rogers. You are a very good narrator, in my opinion, nice video.
As Ive said before, if there was an option to 'LOVE' this video, then I would have certainly clicked on it, but as there isn't, all I can do is 'like' sorry Joe, wish I could do more than whats on offer LOL, but thanks for sharing
40 year old car and still looks better than most cars made today . The lines of this body style are perfect . Looking forward to the day you drive it up into the finished trailer .
are you kidding.... this was the coolest car wash I've ever been present at! K.I.T.T. is no ordinary car as well all know. Will love to see him when you have the buttons, countdown thingy, panels all fixed in the trunk/boot (I'm from the UK, lol). Thank you again Joe.
I suppose, that they used the same technic of applying paint in episode "Junkyard Dog" to change the colour of KITT 😄Excellent episode, Joe, we have a tons of video with detailing of the cars. Video with detailing of original KITT is priceless!
Ive not seen every episode here, yet, but a lot of them. Joe, since you seem to know all the times your KITT was on screen, one video idea is to make a supercut of EVERY second YOUR KITT is on screen so we can watch it all back to back. Video Run Time is no object!
Normally a video washing s car would be boring. However like you said. This isn't an ordinary car. I enjoyed just looking at it. Such a beautiful car. It was and always will be my dream car.
Great job wiping down the Molecular Bonded Shell. Just kidding! Thanks for taking us along for the wash on KITT! Make sure the detail guy doesn't accidentally press the turbo boost button, or the eject buttons.
Foam cannon works great. Joe I'm very impressed with how you managed to wash and dry a car with one hand while making a decent video at the same time! Gotta get one of those helmet cams. 😁 Kitt looks amazing after all of these years and after all he's been through. Someone else commented about touching the tires and then touching the body with the same sponge. I got yelled at by a few detail shop guys for doing that in the past, however your tires rarely see the open road so I wouldn't sweat it too much. I like to use a leaf blower to dry cars with. There's no contact with the paint and easier on my bones. Maybe this time next year you'll have a 3 hour video while washing the semi one handed 🤣 Thanks for taking the time to share this. Don't work too hard buddy. 👍
Joe I'd have to have to take a moment to just absorb the fact that that car, that truck, and that trailer have not been in close proximity to each other in what? 30? 40 years? Those are just the little things I nerd out over 🤣
I think that is the same car I sat in at Universal Studios when I was a kid in 1986 when it was a hard top. I moved to State College Pennsylvania a year and a half ago, I'm so tempted to re-unite with the car and take pictures in it as an adult at the Retrocon. It would be a great birthday week for me. I have pictures I took of the interior & exterior when I was at Universal Studios when I was a kid.
You are such a lucky guy by owning all these historical, iconic things... I am so happy for you. And even better to see that all this is in very goods hands!
Hi Joe iam a big fan yours and I simply love seeing kit all the time I've been watching knight rider since I was 9 years old. And it's good to see kit agian getting all cleaned and washed seeing it looking really nice agian. All my prayers are with you and your family . Bless you and your family from england UK. Love to here from you joe my friend.
Yes I'm enjoying it because I love that car! Hoping you'll be at SKA next year and really hoping I'll have my KARR ready to attend! Would love to see your KITT in person! Thanks for the great video!
And no white wire alllert when the front window is cleaned. Imagine its cool to own a screen used kitt. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the netherlands
Hello beautiful! 😍 I'm talking about KITT of course. Always had a crush on that car (and yes it's a he 😜). For me it's like a high end black tux. It will always be IN.
Wow! just noticed you have the aluminium foil cars and concepts tag on the underside of the hatch (with the date???). Would love to know the date it was converted to a T Top. Mines an 88 and was done fresh from the dealers lot prior to delivery to the 1st owner. It may have even been in the same workshop at the same time having the same roof chop!!
Having owned various black Trans Am's over the last 20 years this is all very familiar 🤣 reminds me I have a show coming up soon so lots of washing and waxing next week..
Hi Joe. "I don't think KITT was like this since Junk Yard Dog"? 😂😂Well, I don't think so either. Perhaps we should look a little deeper on that one. By the way, that Visual FX video I'm still waiting for. Thanks♥✌
At this point you can be eating a sandwich on the grass near KITT or the Semi & I would still enjoy it as much as your other videos, doesn't matter how long it is :)
Well, I have learned some things I didn't knew. I haven't washed many cars, I usually take them to the autowash. I use a cloth and a vacuum on the interior.
I know this isn't related to washing the car, but I was wondering if you could do a video on just the different dashes used in the show. Insert dashes, in the car dashes, KITT vs KARR dashes, etc over the seasons. And maybe end with a montage shot of all the dashes in one photo.
You who would love to give this a detail and paint correction it deserves? Ammo NYC 👍 Oh and I notice a Stang in the stable. I always knew Joe had good taste in cars!
When you were backing KITT up I thought the power steering pump was going out. I then realized it was a gas powered lawn tool of some sort. Anyway, love the videos.
Very nice to see KITT getting cleaned, exterior and interior :) Probably very long dashboard at the center section, I'm struggling to reach at the far back even in my 2016 Kia Rio when cleaning the dash, as it has pretty long dash as well :D
