Now i know everything about ScreenFlow - Thank you. When the video was gone i thought - Why doesn't the video have more views. One of the easiest and best tutorials i ever watched!
David, I hardly ever comment on youtube but I simply have to say GREAT JOB! thanks so much!... I had a really tight deadline and needed learn how to use Screenflow (great software by the way) in a hurry. Your tutorial taught me everything I needed to know in less than an hour. Greatly appreciated.
Amazing tutorial with everything and more in a 40 minute nutshell. Thanx a lot. I would like to re watch for things I might have forgotten later and come back to...so I suggest a short index. You might have it already somewhere: here's one I made for you: 9-video transition props 11:35-audio props 13:33-effects props 14:45-screen recording props 16:38-call out props 20:30-annotations 21:46-text & flowtility extras like banners & between cuts 29:30-green screen 31:20-media library & audio jungle tip 35:55-exporting
Very helpful! Like that your video incorporated many of the Screenflow features and when they are typically used in making videos into your tutorial. Thanks!
Wow! Thank you so much! I've never seen a tutorial this good! You describe everything with so many details! So now I think I'm ready to start ScreenFlowing! Thx!
Thanks, David. This is one of the best Screenflow tutorials I've ever watched. Learned more that I had expected, and I love your clear presentation style.
Thank you David! I love your tutorials... very direct, clear and done in a way I can grasp and remember. On any subject I'm researching - I choose yours first.
Thanks for this video David! I have watched this video over and over to help me get the basics of ScreenFlow after I purchased it. It is very helpful for the beginner. I have watched many of your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Keep 'em coming!
I'm doing screenflow videos tomorrow for the Florida Insurance School online classes that I work on for the school I work with and I wanted to get a refresher on screenflow. After clicking on your video I noticed your name. My name is David A. Cox too...David Anthony Cox...and I'm into technology, programming, and video editing too. What a coincidence! :)
Just found you David. Brilliant video and such a joy to watch a slick and well prepared video tutorial. Learning is so much easier when the instruction are clear and not punctuated by umms and aahs. Thanks also for the generous provision of links to various resources. It's much appreciated. I'm now off to take a look at your website.
Excellent tutorial, I switched over to Screenflow a while back for my web design coding tutorials and my videos have been soooo basic because I hadn't taken the time to figure out more of this great program. Great explanations of everything. 2 thumbs up!
I needed to know more about screen-capturing. There was really only one choice: David A. Cox. Thank you for another informative, well-designed video. You are the best!
Thanks for making the video, time has passed now using screenflow again for another batch of videos. I thought I would watch for a refresher on screenflow. I feel watching your video has been a good investment of time, now I am off to use screenflow again. Thanks, Roger
This was extremely helpful to me. I have a few videos on yt right now. I ordered a boom arm & Blue Snowball Mic, they will be here in a day or 2. Then I hope to roll out a lot more videos. Thank you David, I am subscribing 👍🏼
Hey David, thanks for the screencast tutorial. In 40 minutes I just kinda learned everything I need. If you have used other graphical programs, a lot of the day to day things are natural (i.e. selecting multiple layers etc) I appreciate you taking the time
This is an excellent overview of Screenflow. Easily the best I've found! Thank you so much for your thorough, clear and engaging video! A word about Vimeo: I'm currently using their PRO version to host private videos. From what I've found, they're the best option for hosting secure private videos that load quickly. They're cheaper than Wistia and load more consistently than Amazon S3. Just my experience! If you have another suggestion for hosting private videos, I'm all ears!
Hi David: Great video - lots of great information & the pace of the tutorial is ideal. I did not know about the "spy glass" feature to match colours - great tip. I was frustrated by not being able to have name backgrounds as they have in iMovie--from where I made the transition--and as I though, it's an extra from Flowtility. Thanks so much - Cheers Rick
Great video, thanks David. I've started using ScreenFlow exclusively now. I used to do some stuff in just straight-through-takes with Qucktime, but ScreenFlow is much better. This is a great overview!
Just wanted to say that I have been using Screenflow for a few years now and this is the best tutorial that I have seen on RU-vid. I really enjoyed it and learned some new things, like I didn't know it has a chroma key function! Also, I appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate how to use the Flowtility packs, I went ahead and bought them. One question, do you have a slick way to sync multiple video angles or video to audio. I have seen where others have zoomed in on the timeline and lined up a clap. The clip seems to move at "notches" and not smooth enough to get it exact. Keep up the great work. By the way, if you visit my channel you can see what I have done with Screenflow, it's a great program! Thanks...
Great tutorial, well structured and appropriately paced. Not over-hyped delivery style -- so easy on the ear. Very interesting point about the business model of Vimeo and RU-vid. Go raibh maith agat ('thank you' in Irish)
This was really a good tutorial, which i was looking for, thanks, well if you find time can u please make a tutorial on how to properly compress game files(mainly) and movies like from some GB's to MB's or less GB's and which software is better to be used
David. Excellent Tutorials. I am new to ScreenFlow, but a long-time editor. I need to edit a screen capture shot to match to an existing narration. The larger instructional video will be edited on Premiere Pro CC 2018. I am just creating a few screen capture scenes using Screen Flow. Question #1: Am I correct in assuming that I can import a reference .wav file of the narration, capture the screen shot, and then apply actions to follow the points in the narration? 2nd Question: I am producing the final video in HD 1920 X 1080. In order to obtain the highest final resolution, is it better to set up the ScreenFlow project preset so the screen recording is constrained to 1920X1080, or to record the at the full size of the browser window on my monitor, and then adjust the scale and framing in PremierePro, where the rest of this video I am making is going to be edited? Thank you for your time.
Hey David! Ive been usig screenflow for the past few years and i would consider myself fareley well at it but one porblem i can seem to find anywhere on the internet it audio editing. Like how to make it sound more clear ect since i have the blue yeti. I see lots of people use audacity but i wouldnt know how to record screenflow and use audacity and match up the clips afterward. Could you make a tutorial on how to edit the audio inside of screenflow?
Great video. Very helpful and you surely know your stuff. Pretty harsh assessment of Vimeo. You pay to get extra features (especially protection of your content) so I don't think it's as simple as you described. Most importantly though, this is a great video. Exceptional production. Very generous of you to put it on RU-vid for the world to enjoy.
Thanks David, I should look first in PC CLASSES COM before updating my MAC. OK now it is too late after 6 trails to boot the system I had success and now it seems, that it works quite ok But thanks for the advices how many preference switches Yosemite turns on w/o asking me anything
Thanks David another excellent video tutorial to the point I know this is a year old but would suggest this for making software tutorials? your opinion would be respected
Nice job.. I liked how you commented on copyright material and gave a reason not to use and a solution how to get some music to use the lawful way. I'm just getting into teaching this way and it looks like this software really works well for that. I follow a musician on mixing who told me about this software and he talks and teaches with a mic but with his DAW shows you how the music sounds after making changes. That audio isn't being recorded with the mic he talks into. So I was wondering how that is done? I didn't hear you talk about that. So maybe you could teach that or reply to me. TY. David....TC
Brilliant introduction to Screenflow. I got a 4K monitor in addition to an iMac 21,5". Does it matter which screen you use recording?? I am thinking towards the final product that might be shown on a laptop with 1280x960 or other resolutions! Any tips?
