This video depicts a typical mechanical screening employed in wastewater treatment plants. The wastewater treatment plant presents a medium flow rate near 0.6 m3/s. The hydraulic conditions at the screens are kept by a Parshall flume located downstream. The grit removal follows imediatelly after the pre-treatment screening.

Hi Kanwar ! I am a professor at University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) ! Therefore I have been visiting water and wastewater treatment plants for more than 30 years !!

Yes ! It is true ! The quantities of debris captured by the screens depends on the time of day ! Because this video were made in the early morning its partially justify the low debris captured by the screens.
