I agree 110%. The heavier one is plated brass (I have copper finish), lighter anodized aluminum (I have green one) both with M nibs. These also have grown on me. Find myself using them more than I expected. Also very well engineered & made. Very reliable, hence the EDC name. A brand to watch.

Great Scriveiner review. My two are a joy to own and use. The schmidt nib definitely contributes to that joy. My newbie collection will be increased by a Faber-Castell Hexo M soon. Thanks for reintroducing me to fountain pens after a 65 year absence..

Thanks for the review. I passed on the first Scriveiner because of the plating coming off the nib. The BRG pen looks classy, I may order one when I look to get one of the new EDC pen! Fun review!

Recent U.K. Brand, pens are assembled in China. Lovely pens, especially with those Schmidt nibs. I have one in a nice metallic Royal Blue.

I have a blue Scriveiner EDC and I love it. The Schmidt nib I feel like could be better but it's a great pen for the money. It's been my everyday carry.

I bought a Scriveiner pen a few years ago, accidentally bought the medium nib (I prefer fine). I really don't use it, though the pen does look nice. After your review of these pens, I decided to give them another chance... order one of each of the pens you talked about in this video.

It has been hot, hasn't it? Please reassure your friends there is no cause for panic. While some days may be warm enough to actually vaporize ink in the nib, fountain pen ink is water based. Fears of explosive fumes are unfounded. Fountain pens are safe in Texas. 🙂 Great review except for the financial impact. I think I'll order one in matte blue. Be well and be safe. This is a nice alternative to the Kaweco Sport. What I like is that it will take a long cartridge and a standard size converter. I know I am talking apples and oranges but in comparison to the Pilot E95S, do you prefer this pen or the Pilot?

I agree about it being competitive to the Sport, and being able to use a real converter (I have the mini for the Sport, but don’t use it). On the E95, after several comments about it lately, I guess I need to get my hands on one so I can gain a perspective. It certainly has quite a following.

Are the two materials interchangeable? Could you put the Matt finish grip on the chrome body?

I have been so pleased with the blue cartridges they sent (the Scriveiner Blue) that I haven't yet switched to the converter. That's not my usual habit. I'd recommend any shade you like from Diamine's line, Waterman, or Pelikan. Lots of others out there, but these are where I start because of their reliability overall, and because Diamine has such a broad set of colors.

The ink looks a bit like Diamine Blue Velvet. I prefer their Royal Blue, but there's no getting around that that solid blue if that is what you really want.
