I can't pretend I was expecting this reaction, but I'm loving it. I would say I regret that this was pre-reboot, but to be honest it didn't give McDuck any wackily new abilities. If anything, it focused more around making the rest of his family competent enough to keep up.
The reboot did give him a lot more backstory of competence, connections, and knowledge of a Wide variety of magics and other systems, as well as more combat prowess and some new allies… but yeah, not as big of a difference as all the other members.
He still hates magic too much to use it himself, mostly leaving it to Lena, and I dunno if I'd count "new allies" as part of his growth. In part because some of those allies really only got added to his arsenal because the show combined Duckberg with other pieces of Disney Afternoon (Otherwise, Darkwing Duck and Manny the Gargoyle would have never met him)@@ConnorSinclairCavin
@@castleoffiction96 he hates using magic unless he has to, but he knows How to. And, he has a Massive collection of it. Plus, he would know enough to puzzle out any magic shovel knight would use and disable it or circumvent it. Yes, he is mostly on his own, but shovel knight has absolutely noone. Scrooge on the other hand has is ability to make connections, grow favors, and invest in useful people as one of his traits. Whom he could call and how might not be a super long list, but, those that he can, could probably one handedly whip SK, and as a backup? Overkill. Or heck… scrooge could just grab him and swim down in his money bin, and crush/suffocate SK in the gold…
Yo, I was never questioning whether Scrooge wins this. I was just saying that the 2017 reboot doesn't add any new abilities that invalidate these results. Besides which, DB rules would not exactly give him the time needed to reach out and summon Gizmoduck or whatever.@@ConnorSinclairCavin

Here’s a Death Battle that I’m sure you’ll probably love Balrog VS TJ Combo (Street Fighter VS Killer Instinct) I knew nothing about either going into it, but after I watched it when it first came out, it instantly became one of my all time favourites, even to this very day, that Death Battle made me want to learn how to box
I remember chuckling to myself while watching the Death Battle Cast following that fight, because they said it was their first boxer match up, and while yes, it was the first BOXER match, it wasn't exactly their first fisticuffs/pugalist fight. That would be Fall 2015's Yang Xiao Long vs. Tifa Lockhart.
Ah yes, the battle of the pogo-stick riders. This is definitely one of the gems with a good amount of nostalgic lean versus the modern take on nostalgic gaming to it.

Not sure if this is small or not but one thing that they neglect to mention is that Shovel Knight could reflect projectiles with his shovel. He could've reflected Scrooge's guns back at him but I still don't see him beating a toon character even if they severely downplayed those aspects for Scrooge in this episode
I don’t think Scrooge was downplayed too much. I’m sure there are crazier showings for him that could have been included, but he’s still *somewhat* grounded in reality. Sticking with his general showings makes more sense given Shovel Knight was already outclassed by them, adding them would be overkill. I do agree his reflection should have been mentioned though, it would come in handy.
Well if we're solely basing off what Death battle gave Scrooge for feats and scaling Mr krabs to Spongebob and using Death battle feats for him than Krabs win
You should watch the Film Theory on how rich Scrooge McDuck actually is, since there are constant contradictions in his wealth. Matpat managed to come up with 4 possible amounts, one of which the remake actually was pretty damn close to. It's an interesting video.
Looking back at this, I find it interesting because this was before they introduced bullshit cartoon logic into the rules. Meaning they were actually setting up Scrooge as an actual fighter and not an unkillable, reality breaking god.
I find this approach much more reasonable than what they did for SpongeBob. The point of the show is to use science, using *every* dumb cartoon feat kind of defeats the point.
When it comes to the word " Indian" the Native people do use it as "Native American" can have vague meaning of all native people in the Americans, and not just those in the US However, by all means, if you want to be respectful use the tribal names
