Hey guys I have another video on Scrub Tactics 101 and this time it's all about Jamie's 5HP spamming. Now this video is also a bit technical as it entails some understanding of frame data.
If you guys want me to go over frame data in a separate video, I will surely enjoy doing that. But back to the Jamie nonsense. If Jamie's spam the 5HP, you cannot stop him with Drive Impact but you can use an invulnerable reversal as well as a drive reversal.
However, those two options cost precious drive gauge and there is a free and more efficient way to stop his spamming and safely take back your turn.

This is actually awesome, looked this up because I fought a Jamie in Battle Hub last night who spammed this exact thing and I (Marisa) felt pretty powerless to stop it since she doesn't have any good wake-up options. Beat me the first match but I won the next two after switching to Blanka. Very informative stuff!

Drive Rush 5HP has always been annoying for me. Checking it with any button can be really hard unless you predict it. On Zangief specifically, you can buffer the early inputs for L SPD, then just finish the 360 on reaction to punish it, since the grabbox is so huge.

@@SirFuzzyLogik Oh wow. I didn't think about that. But it's a good counter. So you can even buffer back forward and once you see him turn green you just press a quick down and up LP and you should get the SPD. Nice.

Keep in mind that if you're in burnout, you have 4 more frames of blockstun. Instead of -3, Jaime will be +1 on block after 5HP. This means a 4F button will trade, a throw will lose (5F startup), and you can only super reversal without Drive meter. Jaime is one of the characters it's really bad to be in burnout against-especially without 1 bar of Super, or if your character's Lv1 isn't invulnerable. Even then, you don't want to have to risk it, but it's better than no options at all.

@@ryo-kai8587 Oh yeh. Burnout is a whole different story. You have to be ready to do your super if you have meter for it. I should do a separate video to cover that. Good observation Ryo Kai. 😎👍🏽

Impressive. I forgot what the color boxes meant long ago after the Frame Meter & You training option. Nice to have an explanation. Glad I watched this. Good to know you don't need to Drive Reversal or super. Thanks.

@@jettmanas Thanks. But I don't think you watched the entire video. I was being sarcastic at the start. I did mebtiob later in the video that super, drive reversal are a waste of time. 😅 And you can simply take back your turn with a lp or 6 frame start up move. 👍🏽😎 But thanks for the comments and the insights.

@@SStrikeFury Thanks for the question. But no, cr.mk won't work cause it has a startup of 8 frames. That move is too slow to interrupt this 5HP spamming. A cr.lp will suffice.👍🏽😎

good video. they sometimes sneakily use it after drive rush which causes all button presses to be punished except reversals. my auto piloting ass would forget about the plus frames that DR adds.

@@SaucyCheeseburgerwithRanch For me, I think there are just some things you have to hold. If someone is plus, you just block and observe to see what they do. Some people try to frame trap, space trap or even grab when they are plus so just block and observe. One thing I've learned about this game is try not to overthink. Idk if other people in the chat may have other ideas. 😎👍🏽

the only thing that you have to do against this move is take back your turn. The move is not plus and it doesn't cause a space trap where if you tried to press your fastest button you'd whiff. The only thing to worry about is if an advance Jamie player uses this to perfect parry you which is annoying. This is coming from someone is almost diamond 4 with Jamie.

@@trkgaming1546 It beats 4 and 5 frame attacks on block reversal because those moves will hit Jamie within the 2 frame window for perfect parry. And then most like Jamie will combo you into the corner and get a drink. However, It will lose to throws of course.

@@rexflores8461 you still have to manually time the perfect parry so its not even that crazy and it only works if people are pressing on reversal timing....5hp is only good as a an rps tool or after drive rush.

Just jab and cancel to dp for cammy, ryu has better safe move by jab cancel to hashogeki, jamie will got counter hit juggle. Or with ken do jab and cancel to light jinrai

bro u dont have to do anything risky its negative if u do a super right after any decent player would just block it because its negative and they know they shouldnt do anything there the best think to do is to take your turn back or grab them its actually a situation in your favor
