It was a beautiful summer day to shore dive Kona's "house reef" right outside the Honokohau Harbor. At the edge of the reef we found a huge fish ball made up of akule (big eye scad) with lots of Kahala and Bluefin trevally's herding the bait ball around. Cruising our way back into shore we ran into a pod of spinner dolphins trying to bow ride on some boats, found a rarely-seen dragon moray eel, witnessed an eel attack a morish idol fish, and found not one, but two frogfish. Now, that's a good day of diving in Kona's "backyard"
